The New FOX Tuesday comedy block will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 25 on FOX with a two-episode season premiere of New Girl (8:00-8:30 and 9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), plus the series premiere of Ben And Kate (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) and the series premiere of The Mindy Project (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT). Raising Hope will have its season premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 2 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT).
Ben And Kate stars Dakota Johnson (“21 Jump Street,” “The Five Year Engagement”) and Nat Faxon (“Bad Teacher,” Academy Award-winning co-screenwriter of “The Descendants”) as a pair of odd-couple siblings – one, a responsible single mom; the other, an exuberant dreamer – who reunite to help raise Kate’s daughter, Maddie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones, “We Bought A Zoo”).  The Mindy Project is a biting new single-camera comedy from Emmy Award-nominated writer/producer and New York Times best-selling author Mindy Kaling (“The Office”), that stars Kaling as a skilled OB/GYN trying to balance both her personal and professional life.

Yeah, I was actually just perusing my OnDemand and found that they were available so I just finished watching The Mindy Project.

  • Dan S

Thanks for the heads up. I can now preview both shows & decide if they’re worth adding to my DVR when they premiere.

  • Nick

    Does this include iTunes?

  • glover

    US only? =/

  • Nick

    Just checked, no :-(

  • Jenny

Oh, wow had my doubts about The Mindy Project but I really found it funny and charming. Will definitely be setting my dvr for it. Pass on Ben and Kate just don’t have any interest in it at the moment.

  • EatMorePez

I wasn’t expecting much with Ben and Kate, but I thought it was excellent. The little girl is so great. The Mindy Project had its moments, but it just seemed to be missing something.

Ben and Kate was the much better of the two but I still doubt I’ll watch it regularly. TMP presented Mindy’s character’s materialism like it was supposed to be funny but it was just offensive.

  • Dan S

I have now caught both shows. B&K is definitely the better of the 2 shows but I think TMP has potential to grow & will check out the 1st few episodes to see if it does improve. B&K was surprisingly charming & I hope it can muster a halfway decent audience in a very competitive timeslot.

Haven’t watched The Mindy Project yet but just watched Ben & Kate on hulu. Cute show. I think it’ll be a nice fit with Raising Hope. The little girl is from “We Bought a Zoo,” and I’ve seen the two leads in other things. Ben’s voice can get annoying sometimes but overall it’s a funny show IMO.

Both are on CityTV’s website for those in Canada.

Disappointed with Mindy as it was a show in the development season that I was hoping would make it. Now NBC seems smart on passing on the project. Not funny at all. None of the cast is remotely likable. I may tune in to a later episode this season to see if it gets better like how 30 Rock did.

Ben and Kate on the other hand actually made me laugh, most of the cast was likable (not annoying) and with two former Community/Scrubs/Family Guy producers now involved with the show it should only get better. Lots of potential.

Just saw Mindy’s pilot….it’s okay but not great. It has its moments, but I think BAK is more appealing. I’ll watch both, though.

  • DKD

I found the Mindy Project to be “meh”. I could see that the script had some pretty funny lines if you were reading it, but the execution wasn’t there. I could see why during pilot season people who had read the script were high on it. I guess I don’t find her to be that funny. I thought the casting of the two male regulars was weak. I didn’t find either very appealing.

This could be the show that flops despite critics being high on it.

Ben and Kate was better than I expected. It was cute. But, I don’t really watch this kind of show and, if I do, it will be more likely be NBC’s “The New Normal” because it is cute with a slight edge to it.

  • Jared

I had no expectations for either of these shows but found both to be really good..especially The Mindy Project. I’ll definitely be watching it from now on. I love when the Networks give previews of some of the fall shows.

  • CrimTV

WOW everyone thought that Ben and Kate would be terrible and everyone loves it

  • Jack S

I’m surprised that The Mindy Project hasn’t got a better reaction, I loved it, one moment almost had me crying with laughter, going to keep with it for sure, loads better than the ‘New Girl’ pilot was last year. Mindy Kaling is great.

Will give Ben & Kate a go later but the promos hadn’t got me that interested.
