Can’t wait for Malibu Country & Last Resort!!!
I will be watching this. The Chew really isn’t as bad as All My Children (ex)-fans are making it out to be.

  • Martin

Would they not be more likely to get more viewers to watch this promo if it was instead of The Chew presents — The View presents or one of their countless other shows with presenters.

Unless they are trying to boost viewers for The Chew by having the cast appear in primetime.

  • cc

Doesn’t matter what the Chew presents, I ain’t watching.

Question? Maybe this has been answered, and I missed it, but if Katie is syndicated, why does GH need to be moved to accomodate her? Is abc giving that hour back to local tv? :-/ I know here in Ohio, our local station has been advertising Katie being on at 4 pm eastern time.

I’m even less likely to ever turn that show on then the Chew.

  • Jon

Exactly the reason, Martin. They want to give The Chew some more exposure.

  • Tyson

“Is abc giving that hour back to local tv?”

  • Sam

@cc From my understanding, a lot of the ABC stations (especially those that had Oprah at 4pm after GH) replaced the 4pm hour with local news, which is why Katie is now generally meant to air on those stations at 3pm, but still ideally as a potential lead-in to the local news.

My ABC station will actually still air GH at 3pm and then air Katie at 4pm as the evening news lead-in.

  • Jeff

ABC can promote garbage in every way it wants, but at the end of the day, low-rated garbage is still low-rated garbage.

  • Shelly

    Not interested.

That network is still trying to save face over the really stupid decision to cancel ONE LIFE TO LIVE (r.i.p.!!). Neither replacement has been a success. AMC’s replacement, the chew’s performance has been marginal at best which is why they’re trying to infuse it with with some prime time life support.
I may be in the minority here, but I’m looking forward to GH’s move to 2:00. That puts my soap line-up in a nice, neat que. TV will go OFF at 3.

  • cc

Thanks for the answers. I haven’t noticed yet what is airing here at 3 eastern. I’m gonna guess Dr Oz, since that now follows GH.

  • Big D

There had to be a better way to do this Showcase.

  • Troy Turner

The real story here is that ABC has ZERO confidence in The Chew. Why else would you bury this at 7/6 of Labor Day weekend?

  • Sara Marcipan

Well, I don’t care how ABC unveils it’s fall line up I’m not watching any of it. I have heard comments that The Chew “isn’t that bad” WTH??? AMC wasn’t that bad either, in fact if not for hideous writing it would have been freaking fantastic, but ABC/Disney canned it….if we want to support our SOAPS find another cooking show to watch…there’s like a bazillion of them on TV or the net. Come on peeps!

  • carol

This is just a last ditch effort to try and promote the Chew which is not doing as well in the ratings as ABC says it is. It is not the most appropriate venue to promote their new fall line-up. If nothing else, it will only keep Primetime viewers away from this terrible show.

  • Eileen Plummer

I stopped watch ABC for good when they cancelled All My Children. I would rather watch old reruns of The Andy Griffith Show (which is terrific) than The Chew any day.

  • American

It would be more interesting, IMO, if they did a promo like the one NBC did for its new shows: http://www.nbc.com/movies-specials-more/video/2012-primetime-preview/1414196

  • Mary Amos

I will not watch a man like Mario on anything. After he skimmed his workers at his high ib=n resturants over 5.25 million dollars he got a show on ABC.Won’t they hire Bernie Madoff next.He could be Mario’s sidekick.to cook with thieves.Insyead of jail he got a show on ABc.Didn’t the foodnetwork push him out over his skimming his Waiters?Needs to wash that greasy hair to.Seen several people make remarks he doesn’t like baths.Anytime a person like this gets a show its disgusting.Google it.MARIO SKIMS HOS WAITERS OF 5.25 MILLION DOLLARS.It the truth. Why would anyone back a disgusting man like him when waiters needs the tips to make a living. He a millionaire.I will not give him the time of day.He belongs in jail with a jumpsuit to match those child like crocks.Don’t get stuck on an airplane by him. You’ll regret that moment. He is rude and mean to the normal people,He only caters to the rich and only acknowledge them.Very means to the nornal everyday person.Believe had a friend next to him and he said he is the worse person and rudeness man on a plane he has ever seen.

  • moneek

I would never watch The Chew even if they tried to pay me.ABC has nothing to offer on daytime TV without the Soaps

  • TJS517

The Chew is a terrible show; they are only keeping it on the air to piss off us soap fans. Two of the people on the show are cheats, Michael Symon cheated on the the Iron Chef competition, he only won because he knew the judges, and I know this for a fact. And we all know what Batali did, why would ABC want to be associated with people who cheat? Why? because they themselves are cheaters. STOP watching the show, it sucks!

  • Mary Fergen

I have had nothing to do with ABC/D except for General Hospital for over a year now. Ever since they cancelled the two daytime dramas, they have been scrambling for something to replace them with. Everything has failed so far, including the Spew, which the network is desperately clinging to. They are doing this primetime special in the hopes that it will bring in more viewers. It won’t work!

  • Mary Amos

Anyone who backs the chew backs a theif. The man does not deserve a job on Tv.If he wasn’t one why did the judge order him to pay the people who worked in his upper class people only 5.25 million he skimmed off there tips.He is disgusting theif.Skims off his waiters then gets a job at ABC.ABC should be ashame for hiring him.He also to refuse to pay over time o his waiters.Awlful man.Put him in a cell with Bernie madoff.
