    Speaking of lower viewers

Next Thursday when Pres Obama accepts? That the night the NFL kicks off the real season

  • Rick

The big test will be, How much will the year over year ratings next week look like. Will the number of views watching FCN, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC go up down and by how much.
Will FCN only see a 2% drop vs 08?
    ABC: Vs. ’08, down 26%?
    NBC: Vs. ’08, down 56%?
    CBS: Vs. ’08, down 30%?
    CNN: Vs. ’08, down 52%?
    MSNBC: Vs. ’08, down 25%?

    Shall we take bets?

  • Rick

Ouch, what teams are playing on Thursday Night?

  • Coffee Steve

Cowboys And Giants Rick, But it looks like the NFL moved it to Wed Night the 5th

  • Rick

Where is the game being played. Cowboys have been inconsistant the past couple of years. If it is in NY it could be one sided. If it is in Dallas it could be interesting. I like close games.

  • Rick

NY and Dallas are large markets. A lot of viewers will be tuned into the game. I guess they will miss hearing the Democrats Intelectual speak.

forgive the double / cross post from the “Republican National Convention Final Night Draws 30.3 Million Viewers, Down 8 Million From 2008″

In 2008, the NFL opening game led into McCain’s speech

Not surprisingly, opening night of the NFL season provides a better lead-in than Saving Hope. I’m sure the drastically different viewership contributed to NBC’s bigger relative drop

  • Juan

I’m surprised no one said anything about it. The 2008 GOP ratings were juiced by …. Sarah Palin! It had nothing to do with McCain. Sarah Palin was a magnet drawing both those who loved her & those who hate her. TV loves people like that. They have people who generate indifference which is what McCain did. While that ticket failed, it’s what tv wanted most. Ryan is no Palin. He isn’t going to create an iconic character on SNL any time soon.

Williams, Pelley, that old bat Sawyer with the Angie Dickinson face and all of MSNBC and CNN can take note that they are irrelevant. Fox news dominates and Oh-bama should be one and done. Imagine criticism by the left about Eastwood tearing into the Oh-bama. What about the nightly pounding by David Letterman and Jay the face Leno against Romney EVERY SINGLE NIGHT? Bill Maher joins in weekly. Nobody watches any of these 3 slobs any way. November 6 2012 the bell tolls on the current occupant in the oval office. Good riddance. Get him on the chopper back to Chicago as soon as possible. Fumigate the liberal stench from the White House as well.

  • Mark

Either which way you look at it the 2012 RNC drew millions of viewers less than 2008 and that has got to be worrisome for the Republicans.

  • Denise

The lack of coverage of all Latino/black speakers at the RNC Convention by MSNBC, CNN was intentional, they didn’t want the black/Latino voters to know or hear what they had to say as republican’s. For years now the main stream media has been helping to keep those black American’s chained to poverty by not telling them the truth. It isn’t the republican’s who are the racists, it is and always has been the white side of the elite democrats who have been using them to stay in power since reconstruction and the only reason LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act when he did, is because he knew that if he didn’t, the next time republican’s had control they would finally after 100 years push, with the help of MLK, the Civil Right Act into law. Hundreds of white and Black republican American’s have died so that black American’s can be free and this election is the election that will either free them at long last or we will ALL lose our freedom, its that important. WAKE UP.

  • Denise

The commentators here may think that Romney didn’t get a good hearing, BUT you under estimate thew number of people who watch Via Internet.

  • Meg

I watched on CSPAN. Didn’t even know I had that channel, but the coverage was amazing, commercial-free, and didn’t have snarky biased commentators who think it’s fun to talk over speeches or omit them entirely. I’m planning to watch the Democratic Convention on CSPAN next week. Honestly, why would someone choose networks/cable over CSPAN?

  • Derrick

    “Ralph Hahn

I don’t want to call you an idiot because you are either new or using a different handle. But, you answered your own question.

Folks CAN’T AFFORD new cars, so they are fixing up their old cars. That’s been in the news. I did not just make that up. Hence, you’re higher income in auto supplies. ”

You obviously dont see the flaw in your argument.

If you lost your job in say December 2008 and you were making 100,000 dollars a year, then of course when you got a new job in 2009 that only pays 90,000 a year you were better off.

the phrase “better off” doesnt exactly mean much if you look at it in simple numbers rather than the truth

which is it is better to have a lower paying job than to have no job at all.

your trying to say that these people are worse off simply because they dont have the same level of money, which is true, but it negates the fact that i already mentioned.

  • Laurel

I didn’t watch CNN or MSNBC to see that they didn’t air the speeches from Latino or African-American speakers. I guess they think that they’re controlling what the viewers think , but the joke’s on them. They have so few viewers because they can’t be trusted not to do things like that !

  • Don

Most people don’t know the name of their highest officials. It does not surprise me they only vote for who others tell them to

  • Realistic

    @ jec1978

Good for you but dont you think Michigan was already in such a bad shape because of decades of democrats ruining the state and espacially Detroit?

  • RG-X

I thought Clint was awesome – a breath of fresh air!

Oh and MSNBC will NOT get higher ratings than FOX when Democrats are on – MSNBC are bunch of slanted – one sided so-called journalists pushing their OWN agenda – JUST REPORT the news MSNBC- STOP TELLING THE PUBLIC WHO TO VOTE FOR!!!!

Looks like Piers Morgan needs to go back to judging singers and dancers! His coverage on Thursday was pathetic.
