Yes I am devoted male viewer of DAYS. Good job at NBC and DAYS. I love the action and power couple storylines, and intrigue. With Eileen Davidson returning in October things look pretty secure for Days. Please keep giving me more.

  • David

What an awesome promo, loving that ABC spent the money to allow for on location outdoor shooting. This storyline has been fantastic. I love the way they used the dead mans hand cards which was the storyline that brought Sam to Port Charles. People say history is not used but Ron C. And Frank V. have referred and used more history in the short time they have been in charge than Guza/JFP/Wolfe ever did. Great to see.

I love how last month it was too much Todd, now this month too much Ewen. people need to realize there will be people on more than others. If you look at the episode counts again they show that the people who were on the most were only on a few more episodes than others.

I also love that people are resorting to the Cartooni name again but if others used name calling they would immediately be upset.

As for Richard’s attack on Chrisann, don’t be surprised Chrissann that is how Richard reacts to anyone who has a differing opinon on them, he belittles them, then cries victim when people give it back to him

  • Robert

Days is awesome. GH is junk .That promo looks pathetic.

  • Chrisann

This has nothing to do with the Saops. I heard today the Michael Clarke Duncan hass passed away. Breaks my heart. IMO he was one of the best character actors of all time. RIP. You will be missed.

  • Richard

Chrisann, He was great in the Green Mile. Great actor.

  • Chrisann

Richard….Not ashamed to admit I cried like a baby watching the Green Mile when his character died. One of my favorite new shows was The Finder on Fox which he played a major role. He had such an incredible smile…you just couldn’t help but smile when he did.

David, That promo for GH looked really exciting. I too loved the outdoor scenes! I can’t wait for todays episode. Long live ALL Soaps!!

  • Pat

This is regarding the comment on one of Y and R’s “new” writers… I don’t think it’s too wise to criticize something you have yet to show you exceed at. So far the past two regimes haven’t been too true to that important Bible he or she is referring to. This show had years of consistent and excellent writing. Let’s see if you can get back to that. Otherwise you’ll be the brunt of A LOT of comments like yours.

  • Eddie

DAYS is on a ROLL! I have to agree that DAYS has been much better with the story writing and the acting quality. I would almost bet we will see DAYS nudging B&B for that No2 spot once the Episodes starring Eileen Davidson start airing in October. Not to sound too biased but DAYS fans have been wanting the return of Kristen Dimera/Susan Banks for a very looong time now. In addition these characters brought DAYS some of their highest ratings ever in the late 1990′s. I am on the edge of my seat! I work a daytime job now so I will be using my DVD/DVR LOTS!!! I also think Sami/EJ storyline and bringing Kate’s character front and center has also hellped tremendously! DAYS definitely has no lack of “Bitchy women” lol, Kate, Sammy, Nicole, and now Kristen! This can only be getting better!

  • Jennifer

Just wait until Eileen Davidson’s episodes start airing for DAYS! Days of Our Lives will be mopping the floor with General Hospital! I shouldn’t sound that arrogant but DAYS in the late 1990′s with Kristen, Susan, Marlena and that whole storyline was some of the best daytime has ever had in the history of soaps. I would rank it in the top 5 easily although Y&R had some great storytelling as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if DAYS took over the Number 2 spot from B&B. I can’t hardly wait until October when Kristen/Susan returns to Salem!!

  • Renee

Days of Our Lives airs at 1 pm in most of California, well I know for a fact it does in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose and all of northern California. I am looking forward to Eileen Davidson’s return to Days of Our Lives as well. She was good on Young and Restless but I always loved her characters as the nutty Susan and hateful Kristen. I think Days of Our Lives will only get better over the next year. This should help them get their contract with NBC renewed with no problem!

  • Kayla Rae

Days has it goin’ on, that’s for sure! I am so enjoying each episode! Look out, B&B, Days is on your tail and preparing to pass you up…all the while leaving GH in the dust!

I was NOT impressed by the GH promo, for the record. Just sayin…

  • Kayla Rae

Gaius: I too love action and intrigue and mystery on the soaps. But the tired mobster storyline on GH with Sonny and all the rest have bored me for soooooo long. I truly cannot bear to watch it anymore.

Days knows how to feature action/mystery/intrigue much better than GH!

  • brad

I have read comments on facebook, twitter, and message boards from tons of former DAYS viewers who said that they quit watching after Eileen left and said with her return they would have to start watching again. Also, on Eileen’s twitter page a woman said she was about to retire and promised herself she would get hooked on the soaps again but once she found out that Eileen was returning she said she would start watching DAYS again. When I say I’ve read this from tons of people I mean a whole lot. I think DAYS is about to get a huge surge. I can’t wait till she returns! I know ill be DVRing the show! I can’t wait!

  • brad

Lol that woman promised herself she wouldn’t get hooked ln the soaps again but would have to start watching again because of Eileen’s. Return

  • E.P.

Cancel! cancel! cancel! this sud already. GH should not still be on the air it is no better, but just as awful and boring as AMC and certainly OLTL were. The fact that the headwriter and executive producer of OLTL came on board to “save” GH and bought along some of the most obnoxious characters to Port Charles with them is genius? NOT! GH has been really horrible for a very long time and now with the departure of Kimberly McCullough ( Robin – my fave ) I am going to watch anything and everything that is opposite GH.

  • Anonymous

Why kill Robin just to watch her be tortured with shock therapy and see her husband eventually move on with someone else and her daughter be “mothered” by some other women all the while Robin’s really alive!? It makes Patrick look just as much a prick as he did when he cheated on Robin with Lisa Niles when Robin was in Africa treating HIV and Aids victims. That was a horrible storyline that went on waaaay to long and this crap feels just as bad. And Anna ( Robin’s mom ) is a horrible mother and her “relations” with long in the tooth Luke make me vomit.

  • Richard

Of all the Guza storylines that Ron C. could have retconned why in the world did he choose the Dead Man’s Hand story. I had to even look it up to even remember what all happened. It was a story panned by the soap critics and fans both at the time.

Soaps In Depth finally has the first set of interesting stuff about this whole Port Charles in peril thing. On the front cover it says someone dies.

I love how they do those covers though. They put five faces on the magazine – John, Carly, Sam, Jason and Sonny — then under it says someone dies and that a couple wants to make love before they die. Probably neither one of the captions has anything to do with the 5 folks on the cover. LOL

  • Chrisann

E.P, I see you don’t enjoy GH. I guess to each his or her own, right? You want it canceled. What would you suggest they put in its place? More talk shows? Game shows? I know…. what tv needs is more reality shows!!!!Forget the scripted shows. Lets hope they put some infomercials during the day since the audience is dwindling…maybe that would boost ratings!

  • JayTN

Chrisann…there are actually rumors that ABC will soon dispense with their ‘daytime’ line-up all together in the coming years. Reportedly, “The View” would become a syndicated series that would air predominantly (or totally) on ABC affiliates while other shows – such as “The Chew” – would follow suit. This arrangement would be similar to how ABC programs Saturday mornings with their Litton’s Weekend Adventure block that is technically syndicated, but only airs on ABC affiliates.

Under this rumored ‘daytime/syndicated’ hybrid, ABC Studios would produce several series and allow the various affiliates to pick and choose which ones to air and where to air them. For example, in my market, the local ABC affiliate could keep “The View” at 11:00 a.m. and “The Chew” at 1:00 p.m., followed by another series at 2:00 p.m. In your market, “The View” may go head-to-head with “The Talk” on CBS at 2:00 p.m., while “The Chew” airs at 11:00 a.m. and a new show at 1:00 p.m.

I do know that ABC encourages its affiliates that air the ABC Studios produced game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” to air it at either 12:00 noon or 12:30 p.m. as a lead-in to “The Chew” at 1:00 p.m.

I believe that the future of ABC Daytime could be very interesting over the next several years.

  • Richard

Jay, Here Who Wants to be a Millionaire airs on either Fox or The CW channel and will compete with GH when it moves.

I had heard that rumor too and had meant to ask you about it.

I figure that is why they are not too worried about giving up the one timeslot they gave up for Katie — it would fit with their future plans anyway.
