Recapping our night-by-night look at the fall 2012 schedule, we start on Monday night. ABC is keeping the exact same lineup as Fall 2011 and CBS is close, with only the new comedy Partners at 8:30p, and 2 Broke Girls moving to the tentpole 9pm spot after the Thursday move of Two and a Half Men.
NBC brings The Voice into the Fall, followed by new drama Revolution at 10pm. For NBC's sake, I hope it lasts longer than The Playboy Club did.
We can only hope we'll get a little Revolution fan chatter joining the Castle v. Hawaii Five-0 trash talk on Tuesday mornings.
The CW moves Gossip Girl an hour later than last Fall for its final season (not clear on the episode count) and brings 90210 into the night. The Carrie Diaries is scheduled to enter the night after Gossip Girl is done.
Nothing nearly as newsworthy on the night for Fox as Terra Nova was last Fall, but rookie The Mob Doctor will follow Bones.
Take a trip down memory land with 2011's Monday Fall schedule:

LOST was the #1 drama in its final season (Jan-May ’10).
@Justin121
Think LOST is one of the best sci fi dramas of all time.
@Petar
Agreed re: LOST.
Saw the Revolution pilot online today and liked it. I’ll watch it again later with the other adult here, who also enjoys JJ Abrams shows (we’re on season 4 of Alias now on dvd). Other shows for Monday for me are just HIMYM (hoping it’s coming to a good ending soon) and Castle. I’ll have to stream Castle in order to record Revolution for the household (can’t record two shows at once here).
@Rebecca
Alias was GREAT show. Highly entertaining, enjoy. I watch it years ago.
Revolution was more like lost or heroes(one friend who watch it say that remind him heroes) Hope doesn’t have Smash record – good start and from there week to week drop. Although is with the voice lead-in, but smash also was with that.

Too bold for Castle and Gossip girl. They are both in decline and only DWTS lead-in save Casle ratings to be above 2.0 in demo.

I agree with you, omabin
ABC: I’ll be watching Castle (my second-favorite broadcast net drama) live. Given that the show will eclipse 100 episodes this season, I’ll be very interested to see how tolerant ABC is with its relatively modest performance out of DWTS. Castle is owned by ABC studios and they have a syndication deal in place with TNT, so they may be perfectly content with Castle pulling its usual number in the mid 2′s while they continue to accumulate episodes. That being said, I could see them moving the show to another night next year if the ratings continue to fall.
CBS: I won’t be watching anything here, since I gave up on HIMYM two seasons ago. Partners looks shrill and awful, and I think its ratings potential is more ‘Mad Love’ than ’2 Broke Girls’, but that’s a fairly comfortable timeslot, so it’ll probably still get a full-season order.
CW: No personal interest. Gossip Girl’s final season doesn’t seem to be generating much buzz. Can it stay above 0.5?
FOX: The Mob Doctor is my sleeper pick as the first new show of the 2012-2013 season to be cancelled. The premise invites ridicule, it has a solid but rapidly aging lead-in in Bones, and ABC, CBS, and NBC all have more-or-less established, highly rated programming blocks in place during the hour. Plus, Fox has already scheduled The Following to take this slot at midseason. Fox may want a new medical drama, but I think the leash on this one is very short.
NBC: I’ll be setting the DVR for Revolution, but I think the producers should consider themselves lucky if the show gets a full season order. NBC is playing with fire by overexposing their one real hit in The Voice with two cycles per year, but then again, they really don’t have much choice do they?
I recently caught Revolution available early on demand. It’s definitely a keeper & lives up to its hype. Hopefully future episodes can maintain the quality & intensity of the pilot. I think this show can win its timeslot over H50 & Castle on a regular basis.

I think Castle is safe unless both Park Ave 666 and Nashville hit really well or the ratings drop dramatically. PP is losing cast members, BoP gets horrible ratings, and Scandal had a less than stellar freshman outing. Castle’s pretty low on the list of shows ABC needs to be worried about.
how i met your mother and hawaii 5-0 for me
@Holly I think 666 Park Ave and Nashville will hit this season. I have absolutely no doubt that Nashville will be a hit. 666 has about a 80% chance of being a hit.
This season, I think Castle will definitely decline and become a bubble show player (more so than it has been in previous years). I’m thinking that if NASHVILLE AND 666 become hits Castle either gets cancelled or gets moved to friday nights for more episodes for syndication.
@Tony JJ,
I think you are being very optimistic. ABC does well at premiering shows, but until this last year had several years to struggling to make anything stick. Having two dramas really hit in one year was a bit of an anomaly for ABC.
Also, ABC’s unscripted fare on Friday is doing fine and they have no reason to change it. If Castle lives (and barring a major drop I think it will), it will most likely stay on Monday or maybe move to Tuesday (which has been a trouble spot for ABC).
I need a Revolution!. I watch Castle (because of Nathan Firefly Cap) and Hawaii Five O (Alex Moonlight Immortal) so I never get why people get hostile comparing the two.
But at heart, I am a Science Fiction/Historical Fiction Person [Flash Forward, Journey Man, Terra Nova, Heroes, Game of Thrones, World Without End, Torchwood, etc]. I will watch Revolution live (no Nielsen Box). If the Summer shows bleed into Fall, then my schedule is Warehouse 13, Alphas, and Revolution!
I’m only going to be Hawaii Five O
90210 castle and revolution, cool night!
Poor 90210
Going against Dancing and The Voice! It’s going to get slaughtered.
of course will be watching 2 broke girls and mike and molly.
the voice i only watch because of the blind auditions .. after that no
and revolution.. saw the premier on demand and i loved it.. will 100% be watching the series.. hopefully everybody else loved it
Not much on the broadcast networks I’m interested in. I will maybe give 90210, 2 Broke… and the Mob Doctor a shot, but not much else.
I saw the Revolution pilot on Hulu and it was shockingly bad. Way too many plot holes to disregard.
