Continuing our night by night look at the Fall 2012 schedule we move to Thursday night.
Unlike Fall 2011, when The X Factor results show crashed into Thursday among a total of seven new shows, Fall 2012 scheduling changes seem minor, with the most noteworthy change being Two and a Half Men moving to 8:30.
At least early on I expect most interest will be for:
- How does Two and a Half Men do at 8:30? Can it help put CBS on top the adults 18-49 ratings for the entire night?
- How will the addition of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato change the ratings for The X Factor?
- Will Last Resort be the next Lost? Or the next Missing / FlashForward?
- Will Beauty And The Beast do better than The Secret Circle?
- How will the other relocated veteran Glee do?
- How low can NBC Go On "The Night Formerly Known As Must See TV?"
For a trip down memory lane, check out 2011-12's Thursday Fall schedule:

CBS has my must-see comedy block from 8-9. Wasn’t as impressed with the Last Resort pilot as most critics were, so i’ll DVR it and watch if and only if it proves itself to be a potentially permanent fixture for ABC’s prime time schedule. If it squanders in the ratings, i won’t think twice before jumping ship before even seeing an episode 2.
I’m interested to see how Elementary does. It really doesn’t have any competition.
Vampire Diaries & Beauty & Beast
Last Resort = the next Missing
TBBT DVR Vampire Diaries, Person of Interest. Maybe Glee and Elementary.
CBS easily wins this night.
NBC comedies + The Big Bang Theory. Not watching Glee or Person of Interest anymore.
Glee..Scandal and will try Beauty & the Beast.
CBS from 8-11….
Watching: Last Resort and Vampire Diaries
At the beginning I was interested on seeing Beauty and the Beast but now I just lost interest. There’s nothing that stand out from the previews. From The CW I’m sticking to Nikita, Vampire Diaries, and Arrow.
I’m having this funky feeling about Beauty and the Beast. Remember when Oh Sit! was bashed everywhere and everybody used to say that it would crash and burn? Well, it became the CW’s highest rated Summer show. Just sayin…
Thursday will be disastrous for NBC.
I’m looking forward to X-Factor.
Vampire Diaries and giving Elementary a try.
Another three-way conflict at 9 – I really like POI, my daughter can’t miss Glee — I wanted to try Beauty & the Beast but stooopid DVR only records (and/or watches) 2 things at a time.
One of the two big nights for tuner conflicts.
@Lisa,
Is that in a good way or a bad way. Missing, as well as Chicago Code, were both excellent entertaining shows that were destined to be cancelled.
Goodness my Thursdays are CRAZY.
8-9 X-Factor/Vampire Diaries (not sure which live),30 Rock (so happy it is ending)
9-10- Person of Interest, Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, The Office (again glad it is ending0
10-11 Jersey Shore, Real Housewives of Miami
Person of Interest, TBBT, and Last Resort, I’ll pass on everything else.
Without a doubt I will be watching The Vampire Diaries on Thursday. It is my favorite show. I will also check out Last Resort, and maybe Beauty and the Beast. Finally, you can’t go wrong with TBBT and 2.5 Men.
CBS is going to rule this night!
Will be watching TBBT and Two and a half men (while recording Last Resort, just to see if it is worth watching).
Then watching Grey’s while recording POI.
WOW! This night is crazy!
I hope that Last Resort can finally break the Thursdays at 8 curse for ABC! They really need it…
