Continuing our night by night look at the Fall 2012 schedule we move to Wednesday night.

Six new shows on Wednesdays (same as Tuesday night).  Three new comedies, and three new dramas.

After originally scheduling rookie sitcom The Neighbors in the post-Modern Family "We really don't want to cancel this show" slot, they perhaps thought "We really don't want to waste that slot on a loser show" and moved it to 8:30 after The Middle. Then new musical drama Nashville follows at 10pm.

Fox has sophomore The X Factor scheduled for two hours, instead of 90 minutes, with no 30 min "sitcom launch" slot. Perhaps Britney and Demi need that extra half hour, it certainly didn't do the sitcoms any good.

CBS goes with exactly the same line up as Fall 2011.

NBC puts two rookies into their 8pm comedy block, Animal Practice and Guys With Kids. New drama Chicago Fire follows Law & Order:SVU, which moves back to 9pm in a slot that didn't treat it particularly well in the past.

The CW pairs rookie drama Arrow with the relocated from Friday veteran Supernatural.

Take a trip down memory lane with last season's 2011 Wednesday Fall schedule:

  • Dennis

Just ABC for ABC, the Middle is the most underrated show on tv at the moment

  • Dennis

Just ABC for me, the Middle is the most underrated show on tv at the moment

  • Jeff (Canada)

ABC has since swapped Suburgatory and The Neighbors.

  • little_big_man

It’s actually Suburgatory that follows Modern Family and The Neighbors is after The Middle…

  • Mafia

What an awful night! I’ll watch Arrow and maybe The X Factor at 9pm.

“It’s actually Suburgatory that follows Modern Family and The Neighbors is after The Middle…”

Ah! I knew that and still forgot to edit the grid.

    Update: Now fixed.

  • Ryan Schwartz

i’ve given up on Modern Family, and Revenge is on Sundays this year, so just The Middle for me.

  • Alex C

Actually ABC switched Suburgatory to the post Modern Family. The Neighbors will air after “The Middle”

  • Mary

With the exception of Criminal Minds, there really isn’t anything I want to watch, though I might go back to watching CSI.

  • herpderp

    Arrow and Supernatural.

  • OMG

I do have to wonder why when CBS makes comedies that are simple, a little low-brow, everyone seems to love it. But when ABC or NBC just needs to lower their standards for comedies even a bit, and people start blasting and the shows fail.

  • cc

    @Ryan Schwartz

Agree with you. I also agree The Middle is way underrate

  • Brandy

    Nashville

  • Jared

The X Factor..only because of Britney..Suburgatory and will try Nashville.

  • KS

Looking forward to Arrow and Supernatural.

  • Travis

I’ll be watching ABC tonight, even though the Neighbors looks absolutely terrible. I’ll give Nashville a try. I’m also giving up on the X Factor; just watching Survivor now, as far as all the other channels go.

  • Percysowner

Arrow and Supernatural. May give Nashville a try.

  • Bern

Watching: Animal Practice (if there’s DVR space/Hulu), Arrow, and Modern Family.
Want to see X-Factor but I prefer seeing scripted shows than a reality show. Going to miss Revenge and Happy Endings on Wednesday now that they got moved to different day and time.

  • bob

Survivor for me. Second 1/2 of X-Factor or Law and Order SUV (depending). Chicago Fires and Nashville during repeats of CF or when it is not on.

  • Melanie

Arrow! And, of course, Supernatural for me. I might try Nashville.
