Continuing our night by night look at the Fall 2012 schedule we move to Wednesday night.

Six new shows on Wednesdays (same as Tuesday night).  Three new comedies, and three new dramas.

After originally scheduling rookie sitcom The Neighbors in the post-Modern Family "We really don't want to cancel this show" slot, they perhaps thought "We really don't want to waste that slot on a loser show" and moved it to 8:30 after The Middle. Then new musical drama Nashville follows at 10pm.

Fox has sophomore The X Factor scheduled for two hours, instead of 90 minutes, with no 30 min "sitcom launch" slot. Perhaps Britney and Demi need that extra half hour, it certainly didn't do the sitcoms any good.

CBS goes with exactly the same line up as Fall 2011.

NBC puts two rookies into their 8pm comedy block, Animal Practice and Guys With Kids. New drama Chicago Fire follows Law & Order:SVU, which moves back to 9pm in a slot that didn't treat it particularly well in the past.

The CW pairs rookie drama Arrow with the relocated from Friday veteran Supernatural.

Take a trip down memory lane with last season's 2011 Wednesday Fall schedule:

  • Baqinardo

CW line up, and NBC comedy.
    Seems funny.

  • Jason

X-Factor for me, then probably a cable show at 10.

  • Erika

X-Factor (live) Beyond excited about this season
    Modern Family (recorded)
I’ll give Chicago Fire and Nashville a try.

  • Mark Wilkins

A lot of great shows on Wednesday this fall for me.

  • tv#1

I will definitely watch Arrow, and then probably Supernatural. ABC straight through on Wednesdays. All their shows on Wednesdays look good; some I know already are. Finally, I will most likely watch Animal Practice and maybe Guys with Kids.

  • AustinGriffith

This is an all ABC night for me. Might try Chicago Fire though because i’m not excited for Nashville.

  • Dennis is lame

The Middle is one of the most overrated tv shows.
    I’m sorry.

  • Kyle7

Just MF. I gave up on Suburgatory once the season ended. For me, it was in the zone of “it’s pleasant and sometimes funny, but not funny enough to warrant 22 minutes of my time.”

I’m not really interested in Arrow, but could be convinced to try it (though the reviews I’ve heard of the pilot weren’t particularly good.” I have heard good things about Nashville, which is not really my type of show, but who knows.

  • Ricky

Can’t wait for SPN to return! I think this might be the first year I won’t be attempting to watch Modern Family live.

Sam: It says we need to start with the blood of a fallen angel.
Castiel: Well, you know me. Always happy to bleed for the Winchesters.
    Supernatural 7.21 “Reading is Fundamental”

  • RG-X

Wednesdays: Arrow & CSI for me – I’ll have to watch X Factor until CSI comes on.

  • Hadesa

I dont live in the US but I watch a lot of the shows on-line, I’m probably gonna dump SPN this season (I’ll youtube the Sam scenes) and give Arrow, Nashville and Chicago Fire a try. I’m in the market for some good new shows so I’ll give as many of the pilots a go as I can and see which ones stick.

  • Tom

Not a ton of new blood so not a lot of questions:

    1) How low does AP go, and does GWK get a boost vs. the awful TN?

    2) How long until CF gets yanked and SVU moved to 10?

    3) When does TN get replaced? Before or after Feb sweeps?

Personal Disclaimer: I don’t watch anything on the night.

  • Old Man

Arrow & Nashville both look good

  • Gustavo

Must Watch:Criminal minds,Nashville and Chicago Fire.

  • Concerned Citizen

I’ll be watching Suburgatory and probably Nashville. And there’s a chance that I might try out Arrow, but I’m undecided.

  • Raykov

I’ll watch The Middle, Modern Family and Nashvile. Also Hot in Cleveland when it returns in November.

  • Bee

CANNOTTTTT wait for nashville. the amazing reviews have me so hyped. and the fancy and excessive promos show this is ABC’s big play this fall. was SO happy when i learned that suburgatory was switched and got the 9:30 slot. because now the show can actually survive, even in that death slot.

  • MARSEPH

    FOX
    CBS
    ABC
    NBC
    CW

FOX’ X-Factor will hold up remarkably thanks to Simon and Britney to win the night

CBS’ line-up will slide about 10% across the board

ABC will be down, I see the Middle and MF both sliding about 10% while Suburgatory (thanks to its new timeslot) rising about 20%…Neighbors will do as well as its lead-in and Nashville will fail miserably

This will be NBC’s worst night…the comedies will get some of the lowest numbers on net TV this season…SVU will be crushed yet again and Chicago Fire with such a poor lead-in will stumble a bit yet show signs of potential

Supernatural will grow slightly and Arrow will be the CW’s new biggest show.

  • MattM

ABC all night, except for Nashville which looks atrocious. Sorry Reba.

  • Kenny

    NBC
Animal Practice 1.2-1.5 (dead show, Betty White to the rescue)
    Guys With Kids 1.4-1.7
SVU 1.5-2.0 (Going back to 10, in Jan.)
Chicago Fire 1.4-1.9 (LOLA numbers, its going to move midseason)

    FOX
    The X Factor 3.0-3.5
