Best-Since-Premiere Numbers in Viewers and Young Adults
Head to head, ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” Dominates Season Finale of
NBC’s “” by 52% in Total Viewers and by 56% in Adults 18-49
“Bachelor Pad” (8:00-10:00 p.m.)
Building its overall audience for the 2nd straight week and rising 8% week to week in Adults 18-49, the season’s penultimate episode of ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” scored best-since-premiere numbers in viewers (4.4 million) and young adults (1.4/4) – since 7/23/12. The ABC unscripted series ranked
No. 1 in its time period among key Women (W18-49/W25-54).
- Head to head from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC’s “Bachelor Pad” dominated NBC’s 2-hour finale of “ (2.9 million and 0.9/2) by 52% in Total Viewers and by 56% in Adults 18-49. ”
- In the 9 o’clock hour, “Bachelor Pad” outdrew the season finale of Fox’s “ ” in Total Viewers (4.4 million vs. 4.3 million).
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-yearcomparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 45% currently, from 42% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
