NBC lead the average viewership and adults 25-54 news demo target viewing in the preliminary fast affiliate cable ratings for the 10pm hour on Tuesday's night one of the Democratic National Convention. The final ratings (which I expect no later than sometime Thursday) may have adjustments to these numbers.

What a difference 4 years made. CNN was on top throughout the DNC convention in 2008, in both categories. FNC was second in total viewers, now third in day 1 (and probably for the convention).
CNN wasn’t too far behind MSNBC here, though.

Looks like the bump FNC got last week(much like the bumps MSNBC and CNN got yesterday) were preaching to the choir bumps. To be perfectly honest you are probably better off watching the other side talk about the convention(ie Fox talk about the DNC and MSNBC talk about the RNC) to get a better idea what’s going on
Overall preliminary ratings for day 1 of the convention were higher for the DNC than the RNC slightly.
CSPAN is the only way to go for either of the conventions. Eliminates all of the network/cable talking heads, until Susan Swain comes on at the end to take comment calls from left, right, and independents viewers. Thank you, CSPAN!

I was out Tuesday night and listened to Michelle Obama’s speech on WBUR-FM, Boston, NPR radio network in my car. NPR spoke over Michelle TWICE during the speech, long before the top-of-the-hour…and even then BY FCC REGULATIONS IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO DO ANY KIND OF IDENTIFICATION DURING A CONTINUING BROADCAST SUCH AS A SPEECH OR SYMPHONIC CONCERT OR OPERA! It’s in the rules for FCC licenses, one of which I once held. In fact, I’ve often wondered if on some of the smaller radio stations that carry the Metropolitan Opera on Saturdays, some board operator (and possibly bored operator; if you don’t like or understand opera, it can be a LONG afternoon) instinctively blurts out the call letters at the top-of-the-hour. Anyway, I thought her speech was very effective on the radio along, so it must have made quite an impact on TV. After the speech, NPR turned to E. J. Dionne and Mara Elaisson for some commentary; it probably mimicked Mark Shields and David Brooks on PBS.

Two times he took the vote, hoping the NO votes would change their minds, and then the lady behind him goes like “just do it”…so he asks again, the NO votes win again..and he says “sounds like 2/3 to me”…yeah, 2/3 voted NO…but that’s typical of the DNC…they dont listen to anyone else, why would they listen to thier own party?
Sorry but I generally prefer ABC News when it comes to political stuff , especially This Week with George Stephanopolous. I also think Diane Sawyer does a great job as the ANCHOR for ABC.
I’m guessing the coverage of the DNC convention tonight is gonna suck…look at the options…listen to a bunch of democrats lie and make baseless personal attacks on Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, or watch the Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants? Is it even close?
fact checkers gave the democratic speakers yesterday 4 pinochios overall…and that included Michelle Obama who had the audacity to claim that Obama doesn’t divide people….I spit soda all over the carpet when she said that….lol
