Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

What I take away from it all is there are 3.94 million idiots with TV’s.

As to Steven’s precious little comments”I had no idea the visitors to this site were such hate filled republicans. I may have to re-think where I visit.”

Try the mens room in a city park after dark. Go with what you know Stevie.

  • tom

Ah but alas said Bubba I am not a foreign leader but still you must bow to me and kiss the ring for this Barrack I shall give my blessing to you.

  • Buck O’Fama

That 3.94 million watched had to be a Fluke. Denounce God, Israel and have a sl*t give the speech, yeah that was pretty fluked up.

  • Gerri

Ron Mexico, you are wrong you tea party fool! The Repugnantcan party is THE party of hate. Any blind, deaf, and dumb person can determine that! Repugnant party hate and nastiness flow like water over the Niagara Falls! Their brains are irreversably infected with hate. They are also the special olympians of the political world. Out of touch. Or just touched! Our country will crumble if Willard and rats take over.

  • jerr

I am going to vote for the American.

  • Ike

Wow. So many voices of hatred and immaturity here today.

Contrast that with this part of Bill Clinton’s speech last night:

“Maybe just because I grew up in a different time, but though I often disagree with Republicans, I actually never learned to hate them the way the far right that now controls their party seems to hate our president and a lot of other Democrats.

…that would be impossible for me, because President Eisenhower sent federal troops to my home state to integrate Little Rock Central High School. President Eisenhower built the interstate highway system. When I was a governor, I worked with President Reagan in his White House on the first round of welfare reform and with President George H.W. Bush on national education goals.

…President George W. Bush supported PEPFAR. It saved the lives of millions of people in poor countries.

When times are tough and people are frustrated and angry and hurting and uncertain, the politics of constant conflict may be good, but what is good politics does not necessarily work in the real world. What works in the real world is cooperation.

… Unfortunately, the faction that now dominates the Republican Party doesn’t see it that way. They think government is always the enemy, they’re always right, and compromise is weakness. Just in the last couple of elections, they defeated two distinguished Republican senators because they dared to cooperate with Democrats on issues important to the future of the country, even national security.

They beat a Republican congressman with almost 100 percent voting record on every conservative score because he said he realized he did not have to hate the president to disagree with him. Boy, that was a non-starter, and they threw him out.

One of the main reasons we ought to re-elect President Obama is that he is still committed to constructive cooperation.

Look at his record. Look at his record. Look at his record. He appointed Republican secretaries of defense, the Army, and transportation.

… We all know that he also tried to work with congressional Republicans on health care, debt reduction, and new jobs. And that didn’t work out so well.

But it could have been because, as the Senate Republican leader said, in a remarkable moment of candor, two full years before the election, their number-one priority was not to put America back to work. It was to put the president out of work.”

Clinton took a ‘nuke hardened chip to the Chinese. They gave him a suitcase. This is why the Monica Louinski scandal went viral. It was just a coverup for selling America. That is why two weeks later a story on page 19-B stated that Clinton was found not guilty of Crimes of High Treason. This ‘stain’ on her dress was in her closet (YUCK) for along time. They pulled it out when it was needed. Kinda like when ObaMao killed OsaMao when us Ricans thought that we have a ‘Muslim Presidenta” in the Plantation.

  • Margaret

I have not watch any of the Dem convention, I would rather watch Honey Boo Boo that watch a bunch of liars. Obama doesn’t deserve 4 more years. Unemployment in my neighborhood has been 9.4% since he took office can’t wait until November so he can take his sorry ass back to thugland where he belongs!

    http://att.my.yahoo.com/ Fact-checking Bill Clinton’s DNC speech
Sure, the former president gave an amazing speech last night — but was it all true?

  • Gary

That was some extremely poor planning on the Democrats’ part-scheduling the DNC & Clinton’s address on opening night NFL with the reigning Superbowl champions. That’s the same kind of planning Obama has been doing all along with the economy and fiscal management.

  • rob60990

All I can do is shake my head at these comments. Republicans have as much class as those people on that Honey Boo Boo show.

  • Gerri

rob, you are wrong. The Honey Boo Boo family has much more class and intelligence than the average Republican.

  • rooney72

I come over here to get some TV ratings information and I’m subjected to the most one-sided, hate-filled ignorance I have seen in a long time. The Rethuglicans are out in full force.

BTW, Wally’s right. See 2016 is you want to have a good laugh. It’s full of innuendo, half truths and just total crap designed to stir up a, shall we say, undiscriminating audience. It’s one man’s vision, with nothing to back it up except his desire that it be true. On the other hand, he’s an ‘Earth is 6,000 years old’ guy, so what would you expect?

  • Noname_Rex

…amazing how everything can turn to nothing but politics and hatefulness and bashing. smdh.

  • debsafan

I watch the football game. I’m from Texas. I can watch the politians lie any day of the week. Who cares about them. They sure don’t care about us.

  • SWP

Still and all, the raging Liberals who wrote the Constitution made nary a mention of Christians in it. They didn’t mention that invisibile sky-deity either superstitous hoo-hahs carry on about so tiresomely. Anyway, no accounting for what Americans think is more important than the American political process: professional football. Yeah, really! We’re a nation of cretens, sure enough.

  • Larry Sinclair

The pre-game show was god awful !

  • Nagrad

Live TV ratings are losing their meaning. I, and many others I know, watched various parts of the DNC online. I’ll be watching Criminal Minds online. The result is that the ratings are totally skewed and essentially worthless data.

  • Patrick

When people leave inane hateful comments it does not advance but actually hurts what you believe in! If you actually have a conviction be constructive with it.

    Nobomba 2012!!!

  • LastOneStanding

It just doesn’t any better that Monica L. Rabbi was there for the prayer on Wed night along with Bill.
