Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Maybe the Depressioncrats could’ve stirred up some ratings buzz by throwing God & Israel under the bus. Oh wait…

  • DeanH

I still don’t understand why the RNC wasn’t covered by any of the networks in my region (San Diego) but did cover the DNC. WTF????

  • suzanna

the Demons are such liars so full of you know what I would not waste 5 minutes of my time listening especially to Billy. It will be Romney in our house although we are not Repubs, but I think Romney is a good and honorable guy. We shall findout next year DC is a corrupt place.

  • Alan Beasley

Talk about re-writng history – Clinton forgot he left the U.S. in recession – loosing millions of jobs and VERY unsafe!

The U.S. was a disater – 22 out of 24 months after Clinton lost jobs.

Bush had to clean up Clinton’s disater.

What preident couldn’t balance the budget
by leaving Americans defenseless like Clinton did!

Bush kept us SAFE – Clinton did not! Went after bin Laden “on the cheap”
Thanks Clinton – 3000 Americans thank you!

  • Nutstuyu

Looks like Oh Sit! needs more ghey characters to make it popular.

  • James C.

Alan: Don’t use big words like “safe” that you don’t understand. Bush = 9/11 & Iraq. Clinton = Peace & Prosperity.

  • Holly

And this is why I hate election years on TVBTN…

  • EatMorePez

Anybody else get the feeling the same person is spamming this thread over and over again with different user names? User names we’ve never seen here before?

  • Gerri

Big F-ing deal! Honey Boo Boo had higher ratings than Willard Romney’s acceptance speech!

  • Stray Goose

Get it through your heads…there is no such thing as the “Democratic Party”…it is “Democrat Party”, thus the Democrat National Convention.

  • Holly

    @EatMorePez,

Apparently Drudge linked to this post, so we’re likely to see a lot of this today.

  • Maynard G Krebbs

I still cannot figure why people respect the Clinton’s. Bill was DISBARRED for lying in a federal court case , ultimately DISBARRED through out the country. Bill was impeached. How can anyone possibly listen to him . Maybe he is lying about everything.

  • Dave

    10 p.m.

    NBC: Cowboys-Giants (20.2 million, 12.7/20)
CBS: Democratic National Convention (3.9 million, 2.7/4)
ABC: Democratic National Convention (3.5 million, 2.5/4)

More interest in the game than the RAT convention.

Understandable, since Americans want to see a winning coach.

“Anybody else get the feeling the same person is spamming this thread over and over again with different user names? User names we’ve never seen here before?”

Not the case. Note Holly’s comment.

  • dEE

    Steven,

GREAT IDEA! JUST GOOGLE COOL AID DRINKERS

  • Redhawk

Having to watch debbie wasserrmann, Harpootlian, Warren, Fluke, Billy bob and even Biden and Obama makes me dream about watching NFL, oh heck even PING PONG tournaments or CORN GROW….these idealogs have NO platform nor integrity…just DERamged LOONS is what they present for us to have to watch, sooo??? NFL…or a walk under the stars!

  • Kala

Clinton who lied while clubbing that finger at the TV audience before was back at it again. Finger Clubbing is a feature for Democrat politcians and sets them up as the critical parents clubbing away at what they view as “Children” the viewing audience.

  • Badshah Khan

    It’s Sad that Americans have their priorities upside down;

Clinton made a compelling case of why we should re-elect Obama.
    On the other note:

Drudge has very little coverage of the actual speech text and more interest in deceiving people on how dems don’t like God and Jerusalem and how Clinton’s speech was not viewed by as many people as NFL season opener.

  • Steph

    @Mary & @Holly

re: Drudge… I was wondering why there are so many hate-filled right wingers bombing this site. This is about ratings people, not to espouse your views on how much you hate Clinton or the DNC!

  • Irvin

Proven fact, people care more about sports than politics.

    Can you blame them?
