Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

well that just proves football is about 10x more important than politics :)

  • bsmonitor

Guess what, democrats, Obama lost the election yesterday because of what you did at the convention, all without Bill Clinton’s public assistance. We know God and he needs no vote. What a raw display of chaos and arrogance, thank God the camera’s were on. No doubt Tony Villar wishes he wasn’t let out of his room yesterday. Great video for any future opponent. If he didn’t have one yesterday, he does now.

  • jnsesq

Chesterfield complained of Bubba, “yet people look up to this guy and his wife.”

    Not people — Democrats. ;-)

  • don

I’d rather have a varicocele removed by a blind ape with tweezers than watch a mob of sycophant loving America hating union thugs and freeloaders. IOW’s, deciding on watching the NFL or DNC wasn’t much of a dilemma.

  • Gerri

Honey Boo Boo beat Romney! And Obama will beat Romney! Obama 2012!

  • Wally

Everyone! Go see the movie, 2016, and learn who Obama really is. Seacrch K Carl Smith, with spaces, and learn who the Democrat party really is. Especially important for Blacks.

  • John A

Wow so many comments. I didnt think people cared about politics this much.

  • GGH

Total viewership of Convention first night (Tuesday) was 26.2 million. I expect the total for Wednesday will be the similar. People tend to watch on cable channels.

  • EviLibertarian

Haha it is funny to hear all these whining democrats. They are so use to being in their little cocoon wrapped in only left wing talking points, that as soon as they actually hear honesty about their party they say others are spewing hate.

Hey cc you wouldn’t vote libertarian or republican any way. These candidates aren’t going to offer you free stuff. Democrat motto “Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you.” ie: free healthcare, housing, food, money, utilities, cell phones, etc. The real party of greed, dishonesty, envy, racism, theft, and “hate” is the democrat party.

  • Marine72

OMG! I missed clinton the dumbocrat’s contributor to the war on women. I am so sorry. I couldn’t even watch football since the libtards/progressives have demonstrated “settled science” on the direct correlation of football to brain disease. Alas, I was forced to watch the grass grow in my front yard.

So long Steven…. we are the ones who pay the bills anyways. Go find your government freeloaders…. your ilk.

  • KC

Just remember….the Democrats have been completely in charge for the last 3.5 years. Also controlled Congress since 2007. Why anyone would want to watch them ( or vote for them) is beyond reason. The only thing they have been good at is convincing the weak minded that George Bush is to blame for everything…when in fact they have been in charge…this is one of the biggest lies in history and scares me to death that so people believe it!

  • Golfendude

There is going to be a key note speaker at the DNC. A man who was accused twice of sexual predatory actions. Lost his law license for 8 years. Has a lewd relationship with an intern. Lied to Congress and was impeached. And yet Bill Clinton is the key note speaker for women’s rights at the DNC. You can’t make this stuff up. It’s actually comical.

  • GGH

I am not an American but the distortion of facts on this thread is just ridiculous. Read a newspaper. Just a quick note, the Democrats are not in charge of the House of Representatives now.

  • Alan Beasley

Clinton slashed defense and ignored bin Laden – the result was 9/11 (Cost $1.2 trillion)

Obama slashed defense spending – 900k pink slips in weeks – result … ? (Cost $?? trillion)

We lost 3000 for Clinton’s “surplus” – What will we lose thanks to Obama’s cuts?

Everyone! Go see the movie, 2016, and learn who Obama really is. And search K Carl Smith, with spaces, and learn who the Democrat party really is. Especially important for Blacks. They really need to know what truth is.

  • Steve

wouldn’t it be nice if the Clintons would just go away like all Republicans do except John McCain… why do they think anybody wants to hear anything they have to say… maybe this “me, me and more me” is a democratic thing. Are we going to constantly hear from the Obamas once they are defeated. Why doesn’t the CIA do something so we don’t have to listen to has beens anymore. I know they must have some secret mind control techniques… Alex Jones says they do, so you know it has to be true…

  • nobody

Never mind politics, the sad reality is that football would surpass GOD in the ratings

  • a p garcia

Priorities are right-football was #1 around here!

  • Ken

Really? Why would anyone want to watch & listen to Bill Clinton? He was impreached! He lied under oath and tried to bribe a judge. He embarrassed his wife, his daughter and his country. He brought shame and disrespect to his office. He raped at least for women. He took advantage of a young gullible intern and had sex with her in the Whitehouse. He inserted a cigar in her crotch for God sake!

So I ask….why would anyone give him any respect? He is pitiful and should stay out of the public and hide in shame.
