Al Qaeda Releases New Video of American Hostage
KABUL– Al Qaeda has released a new video of American hostage Warren Weinstein delivering a personal message to Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu.
In the video, Weinstein, 71, believed to be held in the tribal regions along Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan, appears healthy and calm, speaking in a soft, controlled manner.
“Unfortunately President Obama and the American government have shown no interest in my case,” Weinstein says in the video, seated on a chair with his back slightly slouched, wearing a thin white t-shirt.
“Therefore, as a Jew, I’m appealing to you, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the head of the Jewish state of Israel, one Jew to another, to please intervene on my behalf.”

Romney Adviser Hammers CNN Anchor Over ‘Silly Question’
After the press belittled Mitt Romney over the politics of his statements on Tuesday’s embassy attacks, CNN’s Don Lemon continued asking redundant questions about process to the Romney campaign’s foreign policy adviser on Wednesday.
“[Y]ou want to talk about a process issue,” Richard Williamson lectured Lemon. “Because the White House doesn’t want to talk about substance. It wants to talk about process.” [Video below the break. Audio here.]
Lemon’s first question was: “[L]ast night when this country was in the midst of a diplomatic crisis overseas, our people were in harm’s way, is this the time for a candidate for the presidency to speak out in a way that is critical of the government? It couldn’t wait?”
After Williamson answered that the statement came after the embassy attacks, Lemon repeated the same question. “That’s a silly question,” Williamson responded. “We look forward to talking about the substance when you’re available,” he quipped to Lemon at the interview’s end

It’s too bad that tvbythenumbers has become the depository of right-wing material merely copied from Breitbart, Drudge, the Blaze et al. The comments here should be original and deal with the phenomenon of cable news, who’s watching what and when. I just finished with Business Insider.com (I post there after the markets close and then come over here after 5:00 pm Eastern). I entered a lengthy post on my own about the German composer Beethoven at BI; if I came here and did the same thing I’d be accused of being off-topic. Anyway, as I view these numbers, my hoped-for total viewership of 1-million each for Rachel and Lawrence plus occasionally 1-million per showing of “Hardball” is happening regularly now. The “total” figure may be people tuning and out,so not every segment of Rachel’s or Lawrence’s shows is being viewed by a million people, but it’s still in the multiple hundred-of-thousands. So solid intelligent commentary with wit and humor where appropriate may be cancelling out some of the idiocies on the Faux Right-Wing Propaganda channel.
Starting Point/Early Start up some but still among the lowest rated. They are really unwatchable–I know I ask this every week but when will CNN change the format?
@ Suikostinger
You try ever so hard to come across as a intelligent poster ,when in all reality, you make yourself look like a fool, time and time again. But hey you’re always good for a laugh. Sometime in your life somebody played you as a fool and you fell for it,hook , line and sinker .They told you that you’re intelligent., but then again idiots are always so easy to fool.Case in point with Suikostinger.
What would beethoven have to say if he was alive today?
Hey Rob. You post just like DB. Multiple sentences where there is no space after the period. Hi DB!!!
O.K. Liberals; just say it, ‘Radical Islamic Terrorist’…
Feels good doesn’t it ?
Allen West Blames President Obama For Libya Attack. But I though Bush did it!!!
WASHINGTON — Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) piled onto a right-wing push Wednesday to blame President Barack Obama for attacks on U.S. diplomatic posts in Libya and Egypt, even as many other leaders counseled caution and support for the democratic underpinnings of the Arab Spring.
Mobs protested in Egypt and Libya on Tuesday, apparently spurred by an anti-Islam film promoted by Quran-burning preacher Terry Jones. In Benghazi, Libya, attackers fired rocket-propelled grenades at the U.S. Consulate, killing four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
West, a former U.S. Army officer, suggested it was the Obama administration’s support for the Arab Spring uprisings that encouraged the attacks by “intolerant, barbaric, radical Muslims.”
“Americans need to question whether the deaths of these innocent patriots could have been avoided,” said the controversial lawmaker in a statement. “The Obama Administration touted the Arab Spring as an awakening of freedom, which we now see is a nightmare of Islamism.” West then repeated a false claim that U.S. Embassy officials in Cairo “apologized” for the inflammatory film.
“President Obama’s policy of appeasement towards the Islamic world has manifested itself into a specter of unconscionable hatred,” West continued, declaring that the events in Libya and Egypt ranked with the Iranian hostage crisis, in which 52 Americans were held for 444 days in Tehran, starting in late 1979.

@Upandover…
I have 2 Muslim friends. Nicest guys ever. Stop trying to act like they all are bad and get over it.
The Obama administration is disavowing a statement from its own Cairo embassy that seemed to apologize for anti-Muslim activity in the United States.
What would you expect from a do nothing president and one who say’s “I did not do it or authorize it.”
Maddow’s still doing very well.
