A&E ORDERS FOURTH SEASON OF THE HIT DRAMA SERIES "The Glades" FROM FOX TELEVISION STUDIOS

A&E Network has picked up a fourth season of the acclaimed drama series, "The Glades" starring Matt Passmore, it was announced today by David McKillop, Executive Vice President of Programming for A&E Network and BIO Channel.

The third season of "The Glades" averaged 4.1 million total viewers (up 5% from season two based on Live +7 viewing) per premiere episode. "The Glades," along with A&E's hit scripted drama series "Longmire," propelled A&E to ad-supported cable's number one network on Sunday nights among total viewers this past summer during their run.

Season four of "The Glades" will begin production soon and will premiere in 2013. A&E is currently in pre-production on the new scripted drama series "Bates Motel," slated for a 2013 premiere and the second season of the scripted hit series "Longmire," which also will premiere in 2013.

"The Glades" also stars Kiele Sanchez ("Lost," "Samantha Who?"), Carlos Gomez ("Shark," "Sleeper Cell") and Michelle Hurd ("Law & Order SVU," "Gossip Girl").

"The Glades" is produced by Fox Television Studios for A&E Network. The series executive producers are Clifton Campbell ("White Collar," "Profiler," "21 Jump Street") for Innuendo Productions, Inc. and Gary Randall ("Saving Grace") for Grand Productions, Inc. The series was created by Clifton Campbell.

Alright, I don’t watch this show but I do keep up with the ratings so someone please tell me, what took so long??

  • Mara Jade

They usually aren’t quick to renew The Glades. I’d guess it’s because the ratings are a bit iffy. I’m kind of surprised actually. I thought season three was pretty weak. Hopefully they’ll renew Longmire, which is a much better show.

  • gary

One of the best summer shows. No idea what took so long to renew. And why 10 episodes and not 13. Season 3 was a ratings beast. Constantly above 3 million viewers.

  • Mara Jade

@Gary, the total viewers are pretty good, but the 18-49 numbers have never been strong, at least compared to USA’s and TNT’s original scripted shows.

    @Gary
Yeah that was a headscratcher regarding season 3 episode count. The weird thing is A&E renewed it for 13 episodes.

  • John

It was only 10 episodes because Longmire was 10 episodes, A&E wanted both shows to start and end at the same time. I’m sure Longmire will get renewed for 13 episodes too. Glad The Glades was renewed, I barely got caught up with all 3 seasons last month and took a liking to it.

Kinda like the show. Lead actor has a annoyin american accent but hes nice to look at.

  • Ryan M

Longmire was already renewed for Season 2

  • gary

    John,

He’s Australian, I guess that’s why his “American” accent is weird. It def wasn’t a ratings monster compared to TNT, but its overall viewership was higher than season 3. That’s very rare. Lovehe show even tho Callow annoys me to no end. Jim should have hooked up with Taylor Cole’s character

  • gary

Ratings for season 3 were higher than season 2, sorry.

  • John A

Yeah i know i remember him in McClouds Daughters. He was good in that.

  • caroline

more carlos i realy like his character he makes the show like matt but to much much mush give her the boot!!!

  • caroline

more carlos, he realy makes the show…matt is great just to much corny unbelievable love life, give us a break play the field

  • dryr

I was pretty disappointed with how short the last season was. At the rate cable shows continue to shorted seasons, everything will be webisode-length in a decade.

  • Eric_Philly

    Woohoo!

  • John

Glad to hear this…good show along with Longmire, great pairing on sunday night when network tv is crap!!!

  • William

Nice, one of the best summer shows. I really enjoy it

  • Spudda

Love this show and Longmire so looking forward to both of them coming back

and as an Australian I love the fact we have 2 shows on this network which have lead actors from my home country :)

Great show The glades with a good ensemble cast

I like the show, but hope they get back to letting Jim and Carlos play “buddy-cop” (and I accept it doesn’t make much sense to have the Chief M.E. investigating crimes like a detective, but they make it work), Kiele remain the love interest, and be done with it. There have been a slew of obnoxious other women as potential love interest, the worst being the supposed head of the FDLE running around in silly outfits with the main character acting like a lost h.s. kid, and stealing time from the above mentioned buddy cop element that makes the show work.

and yes, pleas renew Longmire! And if you haven’t checked it out, I’m almost done with the first book in the Longmire series by author Craig Johnson, very good.

SO GLAD THAT YOU ARE RENEWING THE GLADES. IT IS MY FAVORITE TV SHOW AND JIM AND CALLIE ARE MY FAVORITE COUPLE. THEY CAN STILL HAVE PROBLEMS, BUT KEEP THEM TOGETHER. I LOVE THE FACT THAT JIM IS A ONE WOMAN MAN. SHE SHOULD COME BACK TO FLA. I THINK IT SHOULD SHOW THAT BEN AVERY BLACKBALLED HER SO SHE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO ATLANTA. HOWEVER, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. DON’T MAKE THEM TOO MUSHY, BUT SHE SHOULD BE IN FLA. AND MAYBE WORK WITH THE POLICE SOME TIME. REGARDLESS, I AM DELIGHTED IT IS COMING BACK, ALONG WITH LONGMIRE. MAYBE WE CAN ALSO GET A FIFTH SEASON. ALSO, THE CAST IS GREAT. GET DANIEL A GIRLFRIEND AND SHOW MORE OF CARLOS AND COLEEN.
