    I guess the X Factor have to stage a Brit meltdown to pull back in the ratings. Do you think she can handle live shows? It will be hard without heavy editing.

  • Pierre

    “FOX pay 90 million $ ONLY for Simon and Britney. What the hell you expect.

    Better get rid of this show and this two and pay this money for drama with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Come on……….”

    If it was really that expensive for FOX, why would they bring it back for a second season?

    I don’t care what a bunch of losers expectations were on this site its mostly just a lot of deep hatred for the show and singing competitions in general. If FOX is okay with it then so should we.

    You’re acting really naive right now, that 3.4 and peaking at 3.9 is still really successful. I’m sure FOX gets premium advertising from this show too. X Factor was still the network’s top show last fall outside of the NFL and it will be this year too since they’ve gotten weaker this year on the other nights.

    lol at whoever is calling Fringe a flop….

    It will finish with 100 episodes!

  • Jon23812

    @Daw Johnson, the word you’re thinking of is “failure”. A failure is when someone doesn’t meet the expectations (of the network) or comes close. A flop it when something has very little audience. A 3.4 is not little.

  • John A

    Fringe got at least 1 0.9 and i think maybe a 2.

    @John A

    IN 4-th season morron. IF X factor survive for 4-th season we will see how will be.

    Again show with 12344576 times less money beat you with marjin if you compare Fringe FIRST season to X factor FIRST season. The same with dringe second and x factor second. Fringe was move in friday when hit 1.9 demo in 3-th season.

  • Cutty

    I’m at a point right now where I am going to ignore the goofy flop comments. It’s making me feel dumber. Some of these people might be hooked on phonics.

  • TONY

    lol Fringe cost’s like 3 million per episode….

    X Factor’s judges salaries alone cost over 100 million

  • John A

    Im a fringe fan not a hater by the way just stating it does have awful ratings.

  • iggy

    Sorry that y’all believe hype.

  • TONY

    …Fringe got a 0.9 once.
    it got a 0.9 again but was adjusted up.

  • Potato

    I believe common knowledge is that the cheapest scripted show will likely still be more expensive than a reality show. You just have to pay more people. So, neither the voice or the x factor are flops right now

  • Trip3

    lol anyone care to predict tonights xfactor ratings?

  • TONY

    @Trip3
    If it falls below 3.3 it is a MAJOR flop

  • Alex

    It certainly seems incredibly premature to be labelling The X Factor a flop.

    Undoubtedly Fox would have wanted more for the return and it seems perfectly fair to describe the number disappointing or underwhelming. However I think you have to take into account that it was launching opposite The Voice and the America’s Got Talent finale both of which clearly dented it at least a little. The Voice a lot more than a little looking at the jump we saw during the second hour. In truth I think this is about what Fox could have realistically expected with the hand The X Factor was eventually dealt although I suppose there’s still a case to be made for it being a little lower than it should have been. To be honest I think the big story of The X Factor rating last night is how poorly it did against The Voice. The Voice was in its fourth hour of the week and it was comfortably ahead of The X Factor at 8PM. That more than anything I think speaks to the relative strength of The Voice audition stage and the relative lack of strength The X Factor has.

    Having said that there’s probably also a strong case to be made that when you look at how underwhelming its first season ratings were (compared to expectations) that The X Factor isn’t exactly in the strongest position. We’ll get a better idea of where it stands tonight. It needs to start its Thursday night run strong tonight because otherwise its going to be a really long season ahead with The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men on the horizon. If its not strong out of the gate its hard to see how it holds its own against CBS at 8PM.

    Britney Spears is so annoying. Everything about her irritating. She looks terrible as well.

  • Person of Interest – TV’S #1 NEW DRAMA

    @TONY who said:
    lol at whoever is calling Fringe a flop….
    It will finish with 100 episodes!

    I am shocked how bad people memory is. Fringe was big hit in first two seasons. Especially first one was 4+ in demo and 10 million viewers average. Now best hit dramas struggle for this numbers. Including CBS hits.
    Most dramas these days stay at the days they are with 1.9 which was lowest rating when fox move fringe in friday. And yes 4-th season and final 5 season in friday is with bad ratings.

  • Brian

    The Voice is just simply better and more entertaining that The X-Factor… Just like we know Christina is talented and funny and Britney is a puppet, she does what they want her to do and has her albums made for her. I actually feel sorry for her, it seems like she doesn’t wan to be in music business anymore. Every time I see her, I see someone who seems to be on medication…

  • Michael

    X Factor is certainly no flop, but Fox expected blockbuster ratings! I mean, they’re paying Britney Spears 20 million dollars (contract), so they assumed hiring the biggest popstar in the world (besides Madonna) will score massive ratings!

  • Holly

    @Person of Interest,

    Now best hit dramas struggle for this numbers.

    The Gunsmoke Rule: No comparing the ratings of any individual show this season to a show in any season except the previous one. “How could CBS have canceled Gunsmoke, for some dreck like CSI? Gunsmoke pulled a 40 rating in 1960!
