Due to the nature of live sports programming the ratings for NBC (NFL Football)  and CBS (NFL Football ) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.

Note: CBS and FOX had sports overruns which resulted in programming time adjustments. On FOX, the 7:00PM half hour contains data for both a football overrun and a portion of American Dad

NBC was number one among adults 18-49  and with total viewers.

On NBC , Sunday Night Football (Lions/49ers)  at 8:30-11:00PM earned a 7.5 preliminary adults 18-49  rating, down 23%  from last week''s  fast national of 9.8.

On CBS, the final half hour of NFL Football scored a 6.3 preliminary adults 18-49 rating. The game ran until 7:37PM, so all ratings for subsequent programming will be adjusted in the finals.  60 Minutes earned a preliminary 3.2 adults 18-49 rating.  Big Brother garnered a preliminary 2.3 adults 18-49 rating, matching last week's performance. However, due to programming delays caused by the football overrun, expect this number to change in the finals

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    ouch revenge

  • Jeff (Canada)

The 2nd last episode of each season of Big Brother has become a kind of “recap” episode so at least it’s good to see the rating didn’t go DOWN at all. I don’t think anyone expected it to go up.

  • Dex

ouch revenge. oops, it’s a rerun. excited for it to comeback!

  • Joshua

ABC’s shows do not go well in reruns…

  • AustinGriffith

That was such an easy win for the Niners.

  • Petar Ivanov

ABC dramas always repeat bad. Look for Grey’s numbers. That is not bad sign for their shows they are too serialized that is the reason in my opinion. Revenge is OK.

One more good day for NBC.

  • battye

NBC should put Football Night in America on a few other nights. I’m sure in mid-season (although hopefully not for a change) there will be plenty of gaps that need filling.

  • s0303

so cbs decided to start airing their sunday programming at 7:30 due to football overrun…and they still start late…knew that wasn’t going to work :)

  • iMember

No one can say Revenge did bad in reruns, because Once Upon A Time did the same. Also, for a serialized show such as this, you can’t expect it to get high rerun ratings either. It did good.

I can’t wait for Revenge to come back though. Such a brilliant and fantastic show! ABC Sundays are going to be the best night of the week.

  • John A

About what i expected for Revenge. ONCE didnt repeat much better last week.

  • Justin121

    REVENGE was very consistent.

It gained a tenth for the last episode despite losing half a million viewers.

  • PHIL

I guess only women watch Revenge, that show is sooooooooooooo boring!

  • Mark

Who cares what revenge does. Its a show you have to watch every week. All that matters is what the ratings are once the new season begins.

  • NewEnglandMike

Boring night for the networks. I’ll be more interested to see how the two hours of Leverage did as well as the first Boardwalk Empire of the season.

  • cc

Expected a little better for Revenge. Hope the move to Sunday doesn’t hurt them.

  • Samunto

Those numbers for The Mentalist are embarassingly low. Really interested to see if it’ll crack a 2.0 in originals.

  • s0303

@samunto…considering csi miami increased ratings after the good wife and still got cancelled…i’m thinking the same should hold true for the mentalist…not looking good for them…i still think cancelling csi miami was dumb, and i didn’t even watch the show :)

  • Ultima

    @cc
Expected a little better for Revenge

Why? Serial dramas repeat terribly. When Desperate Housewives was the #1 drama, even its summer repeats (airing on a regular basis) were still down ~75% from new episodes.

  • were123

    @PHIL
I’m a guy and I watch Revenge. Repeats means nothing, and Revenge is very fun!

  • SJ

Revenge repeated better than Once Upon a Time. I’m slightly shocked.

Once again, 60 Minutes is the momentum killer for CBS Sundays. When will they learn?
