Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled First? (Poll)

Update October 10, 2012: Though it came in a distant sixth, Made in Jersey was first to be cancelled.

The cancellation bear has awoken after his summer hibernation and he's hungry.

The new broadcast primetime shows have already begun premiering, so it's  time to throw your hat in the ring and guess which new broadcast primetime show you think will be caught by the cancellation bear and canceled first!

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later (two seasons ago those who answered The Whole Truth in the "next to be canceled" poll ended up being correct, it was removed first among the shows noted and never returned, despite initial ABC claims to the contrary).

What's your guess?

While this poll allows just one answer per person, feel free to expand your choices in the comments.

9/19 Update: You can also guess which new show will be given a full season order first.

I watched The Mob Doctor last night to give it a fair chance. There wasn’t one character to root for. No redeeming qualities. I would rather have Alcatraz back instead.

Hard choice between The Mob Doctor and Neighbors however i voted on Fox show because it premiered first!

  • Trey

It will be a CBS show. They seem to be very quick on the trigger.

  • omabin

I had voted for the neighbours previously, but after the airing of the mob doctor, which was even worse than I expected (the ratings, not the show itself, which I have no watched, thus I have no opinion about), I think it will be gone before any other… Modern Family will save neighbours in its first week

the new normal is awful and hateful. it’s a good concept if it wasn’t so hateful to 1/2 of the country. modern family shows that you can have a great loving gay family without having them be so hateful to conservatives.

I saw the first episode of The Mindy Project and was unimpressed even though I like Mindy Kahling’s writing and acting contribution on The Office. TMP is hackneyed and painful to watch as the alleged comedy simply isn’t funny or even interesting. I think it will be one of the first, if not the first, casualty.

Runner-up is Ben and Kate. Thoroughly unfunny.

The Mob Doctor is not a bad show; it has a good cast and Jordana Spiro is doing a great job as the lead.

  • Babygate

Now that I’ve seen it, I have to go with ‘Mob Doctor’. What a truly, truly bad show. From the very first scene you know it’s heading in the wrong direction. The concept is bad. The writing is worst. There is virtually no chemistry among the characters and it is almost impossible to feel any kind of empathy for the main character in spite of the bad circumstances. And at the end, just when you are thinking the bad guy is dead and maybe this there is a chance at redemption, nope, she makes an even worst decision and you don’t know why. It’s just bad. Period.

I think CBS’ tauted series will fear just as bad as the other channels’ new shows.

Looks like “Elementary” is a cross between “Castle” and “Mentalist”, but with a ridiculous setting. I can’t imagine anyone being interested in such “out there” type of show… and… who understands the thick accent of the main character?

“Vegas” seems like a cross between a thousand other shows, located in countless other cities. I love the actors in the show, but I think the super macho-man hero shows died with Chuck Norris.

“Partners” is just another plain gay show. In order to succeed in the genre, I think the shows need to be novel and outstanding.

“Made in Jersey”, to me, has potential mainly because of the female actress, I’ll give this one a view to see how it goes.

One thing this season, “DWTS” will feature contestants of the past. They advertise that they brought “the best of the best” of past shows. However, if that is the case… why did they bring Bristol Palin, Pamela Anderson, or Kirsty Alley?

I, for one, will NOT watch DWTS this season for the first time in five years, that is, until the last episode (to see who wins.) I wanted to see new faces, and get to know fresh personalities of stars who I haven’t heard of before.

I’ve watched two episodes of the Mob Doctor and am calling it quits. Jordanna Spiro is great but the show simply simply doesn’t have a believable storyline. I wish Fox had kept Alcatraz .

  • Randy

ABC usually gives its shows a fighting chance. No way I see them pulling the plug on Last Resort.

As bad as I thought Partners was on CBS, I can’t see it getting axed too quickly. Although they do have Rules Of Engagement to slip back in there.

NBC isn’t going to give up right away on their comedies. The whole idea behind ordering so many for 13 episodes was to see if any catch on.

That leaves FOX. The comedies are safe. But The Mob Doctor is in a terrible time slot, had a horrible debut and isn’t a very good show to boot. It’s a triple threat to failure.

My vote is The Mob Doctor.

  • Vance

Perhaps CBS will stem the bleeding and kill of Partners quickly.

  • joanie

Cancel The New Normal! Ellen Barkin is horrible!

  • Gitmogator

Ok, just watched most of Neighbors….had to pull the plug before all of the flash had burned off my face. How in the world does that show reach broadcast tv? It doesn’t matter that it is ABC, the other networks are just as capable of trash like that. One more nail in the coffin of broadcast TV…..nice going ABC. You always disappoint.

  • Scifibookguy

I had DVR’ed The Neighbors and just watched it, and I loved the show :) Which should pretty much doom it, because the shows I like (well, Chuck at least got 5 seasons) always get canceled :( The subtle humor in The Neighbors is so frikkin’ funny, though :)

  • Matt

Surprisingly, the neighbors had a decent debut in the ratings with 9.3 million viewers. It will be interesting to see where the numbers go next week but still good that it beat out shows like Guys With Kids, Animal Practice, Law and Order, and The Middle..It was also very close to beating out X Factor.

  • stef

    Ben and Kate is awful!

  • a p garcia

    TMD is my pick.

  • a p garcia

I wonder if the guy in a COMA woke up in Saving Hope, just wondering, but this is a show masquering as an American show set in Canada and dealing with Canidian healthcare.

  • Casey

I expect that Mob Doctor could be canceled at any minute now but Partners is close behind and aired 1 fewer episode, so technically that would be my pick for first to go. As it should be!
