The drop in the 2nd half hour for Revolution is not really big (about 14%). I had assumed it would get adjusted down. Congratulations to NBC for the sampling.
And tomorrow am very much looking forward to the ratings for NBC’s comedies tonight!!!
@panda22
Most 10pm shows lose viewers each quarter hour. While the drop does seem rather steep, it was able to maintain a 3.8 over the last half hour which is still really good. We’ll have to see how it holds up next week once it’s competition starts.
LAC got .4, that’s awesome because the show has been for like 4 consecutive months and is finally improving.
The LA Complex hits a season high and a season low in the same night. The CW is the only network able to do such thing!
Hopefully, LAC will hit a 0.5 next week during its season finale.
Im really wishing NBC luck with there current crop of new shows..but Revolution will not be the hit these premiere numbers are suggesting. Scifi has never worked for NBC..and I imagine this show wont be the exception.
Hmm, it premiered a bit bigger than I expected. Guess they can’t use “It already appeared online!” as an excuse. We’ll see how it does when Castle and Hawaii Five-O. I have a feeling it will drop a lot, but I won’t be sweating that once Castle comes back.
So Happy for The LA Complex.
Hope it gets renewed for season 3!!!
So only a 3.8 lasted the entire episode. That’s still awesome for NBC, but sci-fi drama have premiered that high before (and even higher) and then got cancelled. Still, you can hope this is a Once Upon a Time chance scenario and ratings stay relatively strong
Not entirely unsurprising quarter hours for Revolution.
A word of warning to its fans though those quarter hours are pretty similar to Smash’s quarter hours for its debut – 4.9 / 3.7 / 3.4 / 3.4 – and it went from a week one rating of 3.8 to a week two rating of 2.8. Also remember that Smash was against original broadcast competition for its debut unlike Revolution and that its first quarter was inflated more so than Revolution’s because its lead-in was bigger. Revolution will not only have a fairly standard week two drop to contend with but also its first airing against original broadcast competition and that competition will be in the form of inflated season premieres.
@Alex, yes but Revolution held more of The Voices lead in than Smash did.
NBC is doing very very good. Great demos. GOOD !
Also, Revolution has more broad appeal than Smash.
Smash lead in was 6.7…
gg NBC!
@Paul
Revolution ‘held more of its lead-in’ opposite a repeat and a country special that rated worse than Castle will next week.
89% of the Viewers watched Revolution live.
I suspect that when Castle and H50 come on next week, some will switch to DVR’ing it and some will shift from “same day” to “plus 7″.
Scifi shows typically have big “plus 7″ numbers.
I honestly never thought LA Complex could hit a .4!
I hate Revolution. I think its crappy but it has definitely had an amazing premier and anyone trying to claim it hasnt is talking crap. It will probably do well next week too and may equal HFo and probably beat Castle.
I am not happy saying this as I love HFO. But CBS were stupid and moved Men to Thursdays – which seem to be the only night they care about these days and now have two massive comedies on despite the X factor being a flop. And they’ve left their Mondays quite exposed.
ABC have an all stars DWTS. It might do well but often All star shows can do badly. Castle has struggled all last season and I don’t see it doing much better all of a sudden.
NBC have really gone for Monday’s. They seem determined to make this their night. Maybe they are focusing on winning one night and then they can try to extend it across other nights.
I think Revolution will slowly fall but maybe not as quickly as many are predicting.
very impressive that the voice had higher ratings than its premiere…
@Jared
“Scifi has never worked for NBC..”
Have you forgotten a little show called ‘Heroes’ that was a massive hit before plotlines got contrived 3rd season and viewers left it in droves?!!
Fun comparison – The Mob Doctor premiere vs. House, M.D. premiere
The Mob Doctor premiered to a 1.5 after FOX had a 2.6 Live+SD average the previous season (no Super Bowl).
House premiered to a 2.7 after FOX had a 4.1 Live+SD average the previous season (no Super Bowl).
Adjusted for network decline, House would have only premiered at a 1.7 in 2012!
Obviously, it’s not an apples-to-applies comparison, but just sayin’. Possibly hope that TMD turns into a mega-hit in the near future?
