NBC Revolution's premiered with a 4.1 adults 18-49 rating, far above the 1.6 rating for the unlamented The Playboy Club premiere a year ago. We'll likely learn it was NBC's best results for the time period in, oh, forever. Update: The half hour ratings were a 4.4/3.8. Our polled readers were excessively pessimistic. As the saying goes, the Revolution will continue to be televised...
No such good news for the premiere of Fox's The Mob Doctor, which opened with just a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating. That's less than half the 3.1 rating for the 2 hour premiere of Terra Nova on Monday, September 26, 2011. Update: the half hours were both 1.5's. Our polled readers turned out to be wildly optimistic.
Cue the disgruntled Terra Nova fans whining in our comments now!

Go Revolution!
OMG! I am hearing a lot of surprises today!! More than OUAT!! ERIC KRIPKE ROCKS!!
Even Falling Skies (in its second season now which is much better than the first one, like a new show!) has dirtier looking people and they have a smaller budget than NBC. So only clean and beautiful models will exist when theres no electricity left? They also have make up I guess?
Great for Revolution. Guess everyone including me lowballed it…
Wow impressive start for Revolution. Mob Doctor DOA just like Lone Star two years ago minus critical acclaim
Fox is 2012-13 season’s NBC.
omg revolution was awful
oh ?my god
Wow, impressive for Revolution. I was expecting a 3.8 myself and way above the 3.4-2.5 range as most predicted.
lol at Mob Doctor. Cancelled very soon.
Great start for Revolution but I expect it to sink next week.
Yay Revolution! And that’s with many Chicago Comcast customers being blacked out because of the storm.
Mob Doctor rating was expected, it never felt like they were solidly behind that show anyway.
Does anyone remember what Smash debuted with? (not that one can compare since Smash got a 0.0 in males 18-49 :p)
Expected for Mob Doctor.
WTF Revolution?!?
Ouch for The Mob Doctor!
Wasn’t The Event either the highest or second highest rated hour for NBC that season? A big opening doesn’t ensure syndication by any means.
So Bones/Touch or Touch/Bones, and when?
Great numbers for Revolution. Whether they stick around is, of course, another question, but premieres like this are why networks keep trying the genre. FlashForward, V, The Event, and now Revolution all premiered big so they know the audience is out there and interested. The trick is getting it all to work.
The Mob Doctor premiered better than LoneStar….
Id be shocked if Revolution didnt drop like a rock in the next few weeks. Its a terrible show but NBC need a success. Another flop for Fox.
@joss
Stick to your CW shows then.
The Mob Doctor Lone Star’ed. I say it falls to a 1.0-1.2 in its second episode and then FOX cancels it.
It looks like Mob Doctor will be the first casualty of the fall season.
