Great question, what was Idol pulling by second week last season?

    6.5 (Wed 8-9), 5.5 (Thu 8-9)

great ratings for the voice, and Go On, Maybe nbc will have a better year this season, then agian early days yet!

  • Jere

NBC will mess up go on just like they did with my name is earl and scrubs. They will move it around to build other night and fall. Wait a few weeks on go on it will drop. Not really funny show.

  • elliotness

I remember near the middle or end of idol season when it was gettin 4.1s.

I hate to say it, but I don’t think The New Normal will be around long. It has done a pretty bad job holding the ratings of its lead ins. I think NBC will replace it with one of their mid-season comedies come January. I hope though that NBC gives it another chance on say Friday nights. I think TNN and Whitney would pair well together on Fridays.

I dnt think The Mindy Project is getting canceled. If you have to pick, Ben & Kate is the most likely to be canceled, since TMP has the better lead in AND it has critical acclaim (I know quality does not guarantee good ratings, but viewers are more likely to stick with it after watching).

I agree that Emily Owens is probably getting canceled, but it’s a shame that Mammie Gummer (Meryl Streep’s daughter) is stuck on a (doomed) CW show.

I remember near the middle or end of idol season when it was gettin 4.1s.

Thursday Idol hit a series low 3.9 in April and was stuck at 4.0 for four weeks prior to the last results show. However, only one Wednesday airing dropped below a 4.7.

The Voice is well below what Idol was doing last season.

NBC is not that stupid – anymore anyway. They wouldn’t risk hurting their Tuesdays after trying so hard to make the line up work, and it is.

How bad would it be if The X Factor dropped tonight? It’s bad enough that their “Competitor” got a ratings bump this week.

  • kasaja

Ratings don’t mean anything until November unless they are awful. The New Normal’s ratings are awful. almost as bad as the show. I don’t see Go holding on to a 2.5 by the time the season is full board. Should be able to keep a 2 in front of it which for NBC is a hit.

  • chris

nbc is the fourth rated network the question is how will it do when competition comes in.

  • Raykov

It’s fun how people say that The New Normal will get canceled and still for 3 episodes it had better ratings than Parks & Rec the entire last season. Lets not even mention Whitney and Up All Night which got second seasons even with a few 1.3s and they both were behind The Office for half a season. The Office and 30 Rock both end this season and NBC need the fresh comedy + there’s a lot of shows to die before TNN does (AP, GWK, UAN, Whitney).

GO ON is AESOME it gettin better and beter I LOVE IT

Um…to the person who asked if the voice gets better ratings then american idol. thats a big HEEEEEELLLLLL NOOOOOOOO.

Now for my opinion of the voice…..it sucks. X factor is so much better.

And also…to the person who said christina is bigger the britney…um…are you serious? Christina may have a stronger voice..but she will never reach the level or be as big as Britney spears is. Britney spears is a pop icon…an way more successful then christina.

Also…what is with christinas new single? It sucks. I see a voice performance from her trying to promote this in the future….(rollys eyes)

the voice may do better than american idol…i know a ton of people who won’t watch ai now that nicki minaj is joining the show…really impressive ratings for the voice and go on…new normal is fine, a 2.2 was about nbc’s 2nd highest rating in the spring :)

@zed i don’t think any show is going to get cancelled on the cw…they would have to get .02 or .03 for that to happen…emily owen actually looks pretty good. i had no intention of watching it until i saw a preview for it…

    @Brian

Christina’s new single is great, I love it! Much better than Britney’s latest songs from Femme Fatale!

the voice may do better than american idol

Doubtful. American Idol had huge declines last season and even with the Super Bowl, The Voice couldn’t beat it.

Sure, American Idol may have huge declines again this season. However, The Voice is already having huge declines as well (auditions are down 28% from last cycle).

The Voice is awesome!!!! I Love this show!!! The coaches are great and funny. Go On is good. NEW NORMAL IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL!!!!
Parenthood is such a great show. Get rid of the New Normal and put another good show in it’s PLACE!

  • Survivor Fan

    @ rob60990

If The Voice can maintain 4.7 ratings, it should beat AI this year.

“The New Normal is the weak link and should be canceled quickly! There is nothing normal with them.”

    Please explain!
