Gordon Ramsay To Save Fox Monday? 'Mob Doctor' Replacement Triage, What's Your Guess? (Poll)

Fox's The Mob Doctor premiered to just a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating on Monday night. It's now a dead show airing, and will be off Fox's schedule sooner rather than later.

On Tuesday, we suggested that Touch currently slotted to premiere on Friday (October 26), would be moved to Monday, 9pm after The Mob Doctor is yanked, but it seems that we may have been limiting our options unnecessarily.

With the announcement that the season premier of Kitchen Nightmares has been indefinitely postponed, with no announcement of when and where it will go, some have speculated that Kitchen Nightmares featuring Fox's go to guy, Gordon Ramsay, will move to Monday's, either at 9pm, or at 8pm with Bones moving to 9pm. Some have also suggested that Fringe might move to Monday (but perhaps tongue in cheek).

What's your guess?

    Yes, Alex, Touch debuted behind American Idol. Big first chance. Touch’s ratings were poor and its renewal was questionable at best. Second chance. Touch has already had one more chance than most shows get.

    “Put Kiefer in the old ’24′ slot” seems to be the crux of the pro-Touch-on-Monday crowd. Fox is right to have drama on Monday opposite the CBS comedies and ABC/NBC reality. For the short term though, go with something stable like Kitchen Nightmares.

    Brian, Fringe would air against the second hour of The Voice Monday at 9 eastern. Revolution follows both shows at 10.

    CTV apparently prefers to pay less money for the right to syndicate U.S. shows. If CTV and other Canadian networks want control, they’ll have to pay for it by creating their own shows.

    @Brian
    Fringe would be against The Voice, as it would air at 9PM. And as much as I’d love to see Fringe hitting 2s on Monday, I think the best it could pull is a 1.4, which would be fine considering the reduced licence fees it got for WB, that would be less of a loss than Mob Doctor.

    Do Neilsens track viewing of Canadian networks in the US markets where they are available? Just curious what the ratings were for TMD on Sunday when CTV broadcast the show … 24 hours ahead of the US broadcast … it’d be an interesting spin on things if it even garnered a 0.5 demo. I’ve never really looked, what major US markets get Canadian networks (CBC, CTV, Global, CITY) on cable, satellite and/or OTA?

  • Tom

    I still think it’s Touch, but it could easily be at 8pm.

    While it would make sense to move Touch to Mon giving Keifer his old timeslot I’m now thinking KN will indeed replace Mob Dr. @ 9pm. The Following I’m sure will inherit that time period in Jan when KN will replace Fringe on Fri after it finishes its run.

  • Dan

    My guess is that FOX will give Mob doctor one more week than Touch will move to Mondays at 9 and Kitchen Nightmares will premiere its new season along side Fringe in a few weeks. Bones and Touch are more compatible and Kitchen Nightmares has worked on Fridays for almost 4 years. FOX is likely saving the 3 episodes to premiere at a later date. FOX has 16 episodes of Kitchen Nightmares they figure since The Mob Doctor will be pulled and a new domino effect will take place, Kitchen Nightmares will now premiere on October 26.

    Likely effective in two weeks

    Monday October 1
    8:00 Bones
    9:00 Touch (Season Premiere)

    Friday October 26
    8:00 Kitchen Nightmares (Season Premiere)
    9:00 Fringe

    Or because Baseball will come into effect FOX may decide to leave Mob Doctor Until October 8 and wait to premiere Touch until November 2.

  • Dan

    FOX has no dramas. Bones and Glee are aging, Fringe is ending, Mob Doctor is DOA, and Touch doesnt need to die on Fridays. Maybe airing on Mondays will be better or even if it doesnt it will still perform better than Mob Doctor.

  • Jared

    FOX never seemed to be behind Mob Doctor to begin with which makes me wonder why they even ordered the pilot to series to begin with. I give it one more week then it’ll be yanked off the schedule. This seasons first casualty. Kitchen Nightmare seems like the obvious choice being its a cheap reality series that seems to do pretty well for the network no matter when they air it.

    There is no way Fringe will ever get above or around 2.0 rating. I’d expect the premiere to be around 1.5ish, but they could get lucky and hit 1.8. The coming week will probably put it down to 1.1. The next one 1.0, after that 0.9 and it should stabilize around 0.8.

    A funeral march for The Mob Doctor.

    Forgot about “Touch”, Kiefer can’t carry that show by himself. The story is just weak sadly. Kiefer tried the best he could. It’s a waste of his talent…

  • David

    Bones Monday @ 8pm
    Fringe Monday @9pm (for fall)
    Touch Monday @9pm (for spring)
    kitchen nightmares Friday @8pm
    The Mob Doctor Friday @9pm (burned off)

  • Emy

    Touch is just dull. If you can’t at least keep a decent audience after Idol, there’s a reason.

    Fringe wont move to mondays. The show certainly deserves some eyeballs for its last season, being Fox best drama by a mile, but there’s too many problems with this scenario

    a) Even if they get decent ratings, the show is ending, so next year Fox will still have the same problem
    b) Fringe finale is at the beginning of Feb. and i’m pretty sure Fox doesn’t want to wait that long to launch The Following
    c) There’s no way in hell i’m waiting another 2 weeks to see the premiere. :p

  • Ultima

    @Dan
    Friday October 26
    8:00 Kitchen Nightmares (Season Premiere)

    Then what was the point of pulling Kitchen Nightmares off the schedule?

  • Ultima

    @David
    Bones Monday @ 8pm
    Fringe Monday @9pm (for fall)
    Touch Monday @9pm (for spring)
    kitchen nightmares Friday @8pm
    The Mob Doctor Friday @9pm (burned off)

    Garbage. :roll:

  • santana

    Gordon is sexy

  • Nick

    @Dan

    Friday October 26
    8:00 Kitchen Nightmares (Season Premiere)

    That’s technically impossible because the new season of Kitchen Nightmares isn’t scheduled until midseason. The episodes pulled are the leftovers from the last season that were bumped to make room for The Finder.

  • Nick

    @hudlu

    Forgot about “Touch”, Kiefer can’t carry that show by himself. The story is just weak sadly. Kiefer tried the best he could. It’s a waste of his talent…

    What talent? Keifer Sutherland’s acting is definitely the worst part of Touch…

    I’m playing the longshot that Fox opts for a cheap “X-Factor” rerun (perhaps with Cowell predicting every week that “The Voice” is a flash in the pan, due to fade at any moment). I suppose “Kitchen Nightmares” is much more likely, though.

    But that “Drama Domination” idea was hilarious. Much as I dislike Ramsay, I might tune in for that. (“What the @#$% are you thinking? DINOSAURS??? You’ll never make any @#$%ing money on that! Get the @#$% out of my office!)
