Im sorry but these ratigns have to be wrong. These show GH only averaging a 1.8 household on Monday the 10th, when every other rating and soap site reported that GH was averaging a 2.5 household on Monday the 10th. Also, this shows GH only averaging a 1.9 household the whole week, when, again, every other site Rreported that GH was averaging a 2.3 household the whole entire week. Please reply if you have an explanation, because I still think it was a mistake.

  • Agnes

I believe those numbers were for the 56 largest markets only. They aren’t a good predictor for national apparently….

Also, I have no idea how many days of DVR included – SD or SD +1 or SD + 7 etc in either ratings (obviously the early numbers can’t be SD +7 lol).

The numbers reported here are not wrong.

  • rob60990

@Matto, Berman posted ratings that only included 56 markets. These ratings include everyone.

  • Sara

Good for GH if they can maintain their demos, it is the most important..as for Dool and Y&R they are a mess and worst of all boring therefore it is well deserved ! What a smart move it was NBC to rehire Gary Tomlin..lmaoooooo

  • Agnes

    @Sara
Re Tomlin, it’s too early to say. Based on his last tenure and his run at Sunset Beach, he takes a while to get going. He has to reset the characters with purpose, unwind the mess of MarDar in a believable manner and lay the groundwork. The show, as boring as it is, is well structured and written now – all it needs is a pulse. I suspect if Eileen Davidson and her storylines dont crack it next month, then he is a failure. But I wouldn’t write him off until then…

  • Sara

You are too kind Agnes, me i know one thing : this show bores me, i don’t find the show more structured and written right now with all these flashbacks and repetitive dialogue and boring pairings (and Daysaster was great imo) and i stop watching and GH although campy is far more entertaining so i will watch it instead.

    Matto –
The comments during the week from various sites only spoke to certain metered areas – approx. 56 markets. I believe that ‘all’ understood that when the final #s were in from all markets, that the ratings could go either way.

Those that know a lot more than me, please chime in.

I usually watch Y&R and DOOL but haven’t consistently watched either in a couple of months. Its not so much the stories (which could be better)but I find myself influenced by the opinions on the various MBs. I guess all of the “who likes/dislikes what character, storyline has worn me down. :)

  • Stacy

I have been so busy the last couple weeks. I only watched days twice last week and once this week. I recorded gh for last week and this week but haven’t had a chance to watch it at all. I think I’m going to drop gh all together. With Steve Burton leaving soon and him being one of my favorites i think i will let gh go. My kids have so much going on that i just don’t have time to watch what i record.

  • DenverDean

@Agnes Weekly soap ratings are L+SD. It’s too bad, because I’m sure plenty of people watch 2 or more episodes in ‘mini’ marathons. But for advertisers, the nature of soaps is what was broadcast and seen that day. (At least that’s my guess.)

  • melky

These ratings don’t look right at all, those reports from last week told a different story.

Anyways B&B had another great week and here’s a sneak peak of next week:

  • Sara

I am sorry melky but i find this promo totally boring, doesn’t make me want to watch at all, a woman who has a hard pregnancy..been there done that, is that the ‘drama’, is that a ‘story’ ?! And i like the Katie and Bill characters but here.. and the acting is bad in this promo, i don’t buy at all the ‘i ove you’ from the actor, it is just laughable ! For example i liked the last promo for this show with Bill and Deacon confrontation : THAT was dynamic !

  • DJnATL

Y&R will go back up once the new writer’s material starts airing in October. Watching it now is like watching a wounded animal.

  • Mel

For some reason Y&R and B&B had HUGE drops on Friday. B&B had even hit a 2.6 during the week and was 2.5 on Thursday but dropped to a 2.2 on Friday while Y&R dropped from 3.4 to 2.9. I wonder why? I know B&B was pre-empted that day in San Diego but not sure if other parts of the country were affected. It just seems odd.

  • James

As others have said here and on SON, this is the total ratings. The earlier ones that were AWESOME were only top 56 markets. I know, it sucks. The good thing is 2.5 Million viewers. Maintain that, then build on it. Try and get to 2.7 by Thanksgiving.

  • melky

At least GH did go up a notch as the week progressed so maybe viewers were getting used to the new timeslot.

    @ DJnATL

I agree I think Y&R might go up an did mprove in October like you said when the writers new stuff is out there.

    @ Mel

Yeah B&B hit a huge 2.6 on Thursday and Y&R a 3.4 on Thursday so that was kind of odd. I think there were some pre-emptions on the West Coast due to the army funeral that day.

    @ James

    Thanks for the info James.

This one is for my DAYS fans on here:

  • Sara

Oh my…this ‘beating’ is so ridiculous, Dool looks so cheap just watch Hollyoaks they know how to make ‘beating’ scenes REAL !

  • Chrisann Diaz

Wow…so many new posters! I have been really liking GH lately. Too Bad my viewing doesn’t count since we aren’t a Nielson household. I know life gets busy and sometimes sitting down and enjoying you favorite soap or show of any kind is hard. I am so glad that we can afford DirectTv and have a DVR. When I find I have a couple of extra hours I will sit down and catch up on my favorite shows. I have been a viewer of GH off and on since 1976 and the same with One Life and AMC till they were canceled. For me GH is as good as it has ever been. I just wish Steve Burton would stay on…even as part time. Sam and Jason have such a rich past it will be hard to write Sam a new love interest. I would love to see all the soaps rise in viewership but times are changing and who knows what will happen in the future.

  • Rog

OMG! I just really want to beat Chad’s ***** that dude has been mad annoying lately. Melanie needs to get away from him he’s more dangerous and deranged than Nick.

GH has been pretty good too, any clips for that one or Y&R?

  • Jack

I don’t remember B&B’s total viewers at only 2.6 million last year. The half million rise is too difficult to believe.

    Are soapnet ratings included?
