Friday's Ratings Via TV Media Insights

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    first ?

Mob Doctor did good for a repeat. Too bad it will still be cancelled.
    Top Model is backdown again.

  • FringeFan

Relatively good numbers for Shark Tank.

Next week’s return of Fringe should be interesting. I see it pulling more than the Mob Doctor re-run of 0.8, but only placing in 2nd place in the 9 PM time slot with a 1.0-1.1 (3.4 Million Viewers).

Can’t wait til next Friday, it’ll be a lot busier. But the Friday madness probably won’t be in full effect until October 19th when Community and Nikita come back.

Hopefully Community gets a better day/time if one or two of its comedies fail before then

  • John A

Why did fox not air a fringe repeat? They didnt air a repeat all summer. I know its repeats stink in ratings but the last 2 fridays they shouldve aired it.

  • JR

It’s possible that Shark Tank will adjust up in the finals, as it did last week.

  • DW

i can see it now. the mob doctor then fringe on friday.

  • Dan S

I know tonight at 11pm Fox will air the season 4 finale to Fringe. I’ve got it set to record

  • John A

Its a little sad that a repeat of Mob Doctor will probably match a new Fringe.

  • Denis

It is not the Fringe finale being repeated tonight,

it is 4×19 … letter’s of transit, so basically it’s the episode that will lead into the season 5 premiere.

I can see Fringe premiering with a 1.1.

But i dont care about its ratings anymore which is a nice feeling for a fringe fan

  • s0303

maybe fox should try mob doctor on fridays before they cancel it….0.8 for a repeat is pretty good and not far below what fringe was doing in the spring…

  • Denis

…also, I expect Grimm’s new episode next week to be low….

it’s been like 3 weeks since a new episode…I’d say 1.3 for it

  • Sid

    Go ABC!

  • John A

Be nice to see Fringe stay at a 1.2 for the season. I dont want to see real awful numbers like a 0.8 or lower during the season.

  • Kelly

    @ Bill

When are you going to start the renew/cancel index again?

  • Tony

    @John A

It is going to do awful….

but maybe the finale will have a decent number..

Chuck did pityful in its final season but the finale went up a bit

  • a p garcia

MD did well for a repeat. Maybe it will be moved to Friday insteading of feeding “The Bear”. I see why 20/20 beats Dateline.

    The old man is snoring

  • Atlanta

Out of curiosity, what is considered a good or decent demo for a repeat?

  • were123

    @John A
They aired repeats on Saturdays at 11, besides I don’t see Fringe pulling lower numbers than last season. Of course, I could be wrong, but I think that at least it’ll hit a bit higher than 1.0s this season
