            CBS’s specials – led by THE 65TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS, THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS and THE 54THANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS – won a combined eight Emmy Awards at the primetime and creative arts ceremonies, in the variety specials categories.

  • Outstanding Variety Special—THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS
  • Outstanding Special Class Program—THE 65TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS
  • Outstanding Art Direction for a Variety or Nonfiction Program—THE 54TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS and THE 65THANNUAL TONY AWARDS (tie)
  • Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Special—THE 54TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS
  • Outstanding Music Direction—THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS
  • Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics—THE 65TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS
  • Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special—65TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS
