That happens. Sometimes rebelious kids must be reminded of who their daddy is.
Hey Suikostinger, I do not post all that often, but I have on two separate occasions posted that MSNBC has had good numbers. I will even go so far as to say that their election ratings have done very well. Plus I am not one that thinks just because you watch MSNBC that you are stupid either. I think that people who spend that much time watching news are patriots and care enough about their country to pay attention to the news. My only dismay is Laurence Glavin, he seems moderatly intelligent but continues to call FOX personalities by less than flattering names. Seems beneath him somehow. And lastly, I love FOX News!!

Sice (sic)1929 The average recession lasts 11 months and the average recovery lasts 4 years and 10 months
but
How has the Great Recession compared to past U.S. recessions? There might be no better graph to answer that question than this one from Calculated Risk. It matches job losses in the Great Recession against the last 10 downturns since World War II.

Toyota drops plan for widespread sales of electric car
(Reuters )9/24/12 – Toyota Motor Corp has scrapped plans for widespread sales of a new all-electric minicar, saying it had misread the market and the ability of still-emerging battery technology to meet consumer demands.

@Joe: I am not a stockholder of The News Corporation, so why would I get worried if Fox slips a bit in the ratings? They are Still Number One, and that’s all that matters. I don’t know who will win the election, but it should be based on the incumbent’s four years in office and why we should re-elect him despite his abysmal performance since taking off on 1/20/2009.
If Americans re-elect Obama, it’s proof that most voters have been in a coma the past four years and that the election is just another popularity content as in the case of “Dancing With The Stars” or “American Idol.”
@Suiko… >>> Why is it that the Fox News lovers can’t admit that MSNBC is doing well and creeping up on them in the Demo? The lefties give Fox News the props when they are always number 1……. <<<
MSNBC is doing better than they had been. But, why all the accolades and congratulating when FNC is still Number One? A couple of the MSNBC prime time shows saw improvement, but Total Day 25-54 and 35-64 is Fox's.
Your second line beginning with "The lefties…" made me laugh. The only time I see any non-Fox-fan giving FNC their props is by posters here who are more or less neutral, not ardent MSNBC or CNN fans.
@Laurence Glavin: MSNBC’s rise in numbers has nothing to do with the soon-to-be-out-of-business “Current TV.” You have to have an audience before you
you can say that MS-blah-blah-blah is reaping the rewards of Current’s failures.
What a hypocrite!!
Mitt Romney’s recently released tax returns show the governor recently sold off investments in the Chinese online-video company Youku, a Chinese version of YouTube. The site was launched in 2006 and quickly became a haven for downloading illegal American content. The site has been trying to repair its image as a piracy portal since lawsuits have caused them to remove unauthorized content.
Nice!! Don’t ya just live Julianne Moore!!
Julianne Moore won the Emmy for best actress in a miniseries for her portrayal of Sarah Palin in “Game Change,” USA Today reported.
“Wow, I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down,” Moore quipped in her acceptance speech.
She also took a shot at the former Alaska governor. “I wanted to give a shout out to Tina Fey and Katie Couric,” she said. “They were really influential in the 2008 election.”
Talk about Manipulation, Romney darkens his skin with make up, then he also stacks the audience with supporters.
Pathetic!
: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney stacked the audience at the recent Univision presidential forum with Republican activists to ensure he would get a raucous welcome when he enters the room, a moderator claims.
Mitt also pitched a fit-just minutes before the broadcast and refused to come out unless the Spanish language network re-taped the introduction, Univision anchor Maria Elena Salinas.
“It was a very awkward moment, believe me,” New York Daily News quoted Salinas, as saying.
According to the report, Romney was apparently upset because co-anchor Jorge Ramos mentioned that Romney had agree to give them 35 minutes, while Obama pledged an hour to answer questions the next night, Salinas said.
While the Obama campaign had no problem filling the seats with student supporters, Team Romney could not find enough Republicans on campus.
Facing the prospect of empty seats, the Romney campaign told the network that if they weren’t allowed to bring in outsiders they might have to ‘reschedule’, Salinas said.

Ted Koppel: Fox News ‘Bad for America’
“The big thing you have to admire about Ted Koppel is that he won’t be bullied into saying anything that isn’t the truth, be it about the news or about a supposed-news organization like Fox ‘News’. While appearing on Bill O’ Reilly’s show, he basically lambastes the network for not being a true news network and brands them a ‘business’ — nothing more, nothing less.
Koppel notes that ideological news is bad for America – from wherever the ideology stems. He notes that there is no question when watching FoxNews where the ideological bent comes from. Further, he chastises O’ Reilly for pretending to be a real news anchor, especially when he goes so far as to remind O’ Reilly “Once upon a time, you and I thought journalism was a calling…” instead of just a business.
Then, when O’Reilly says the difference between FoxNews and MSNBC is that Fox does HARD NEWS, you can almost sense Koppel is going to break out in a loud laugh. He is kinder and more thoughtful in his response than that, but you know he must be thinking it. Feeling it. From his gut.
Koppel doesn’t have any problem with a business being a business, whether for entertainment or politics, but he refuses to fall in with the FoxNews opinion that they are either REAL news or anything remotely close to it.
In his final commentary on the network, responding to Bill O’Reilly’s suggestion that he thinks he is doing something nobel, he gives Bill a kiss-off right to his face.

Mitt Romney wants to know why airplane windows do not open
Mitt Romney, speaking at a fundraiser in California, spoke about his wife’s harrowing experience on an airplane when it filled with smoke.
He said, according to the LA Times:
“When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly, there’s no — and you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem. So it’s very dangerous. And she was choking and rubbing her eyes. Fortunately, there was enough oxygen for the pilot and copilot to make a safe landing in Denver. But she’s safe and sound.”
So, er, that happened.
I hope that Mitt was joking about why airplane windows don’t open (you certainly wouldn’t want to be able to open them at 20,000 feet!) but I’m reserving judgment. At this rate, I look forward to hearing from him on other safety topics.
No wonder he keeps suggesting you let your pet ride on top of the airplane, “where there is abundant oxygen.”
“It would be so much easier to get people out of wrecks if it weren’t for those durned seat belts they have in cars now. I don’t know why they have them.”
“They should make it easier for you to use a hair dryer in the bathtub.”
“Why do we need so many stoplights? I’m serious, now. They take up so much space and they’re so easy to walk into when you aren’t paying attention.”
@Jeff,
I will take someone like Ted K. serious when he complains about both sides. Is he going to complain about the bent of the rest of the media too?
