Shelia Bair’s new book detailing the bail out should be good. Have it on my list of books to order. She states that the bailout was the most distasteful thing she has ever done in her life. She dislikes Turbo Tax Cheat Geitner VERY much.
Hello Boss, how is everything?
Not sure what the problem with Ralph is—I always enjoy his posts.
Glad to see some righties giving some props to Rachel Maddow. She is my favorite prime time host as well (w/ Lawrence slightly behind). She is very respectful towards the R’s, always calling Romney “Mr. Romney.” She gets in her digs with a wink and a smile. She is very non-threatening in her attacks, and she always does it with wit and intelligence. She is quite a contrast to the grating, harsh, and brash style of Sean Hannity.
Clarification–I don’t think Ralph has a problem–
@letmethink … Thanks for asking about my mother. The most difficult time of my life. I sit beside my mother’s bed holding her hand most of the day and night. I have been sleeping over at my parents house the past few nights. She is home but under Hospice care. They say she has 5-7 days left. She is heavily medicated with 1.5 ml of morphine every four hours. This cancer has been brutal (it is described as a “mindblowing” cancer by one of her doctors). So, it’s been a very, very difficult time.
Thanks for your thoughtfulness and I hope all is well with you.

It is always easier to attack than to defend. All Presidents make mistakes. When Bush was in office I would never defend stupidity from him or his surrogates. When Susan Rice went on those morning show and proclaimed the attack in Libya was a protest gone wrong, well that is stupidity.
@TheBoss1
My thoughs are with you and your family Boss as well. We been through that ourselves twice in the past 18 months with family. (Cancer)
This is such a difficult time I am sure. Like my son who took such great care of his dad to the end, I have nothing but admiration for you.
I’m doing well. My son is getting married in two weeks so we are busy getting things ready. It is sad that his dad won’t be there but he loved my son’s fiancé so he was happy to see our son find a good partner.

Hang in there, I lost my dad four years ago this month to leukemia. The other day I was thinking about his sense of humor and a lot of the humorous quotes I put on the site were his.
When something happens in my life I often wonder what funny quip he would come up with.
Can someone tell me what catches in the filter to keep posts from posting. Maybe I am doing something wrong as lately I have had a few posts not make it.
THANKS Steve and Papa (in addition to Letmethink) …
I guess this is the way it should be …. chiildren should bury their parents, not parents bury their children. Unfortunately, my mom and dad buried their first-born child, my older brother at the age of 48. He had a heart aneurism. That devastated my parents. So, intellectually, I know this is the natural order of things, but, emotionally, this is killing me. I know I have to let go, but it is so hard.
My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones (Steve, Papa, Letmethink). While we may disagree about our politics, we are all connected by our humanity, by our love for our parents, by our love of other family members, by our care and concern for our friends, and by our love for this great country.
Well said Boss—agree totally.
Night all

Ditto.
I as well have dealt with seeing my 19 Year Old Grandaughter pass away this past Feb. Hardest thing I’ver ever dealt with in my life, I cry a little daily about her.
When these things happen, everything else, means nothing.
Good Night Everyone see you Wed.
Peace
@Same here, well said Boss, best wishes in a tough time.
Thanks, Bobbyv. Much appreciated.
That had to be devastating, Steve. I’m so sorry. Bod bless.
I’m beat. I have to get to bed. 1:00 am and 5:00 am will come soon enough as I help my father administer the liquid morphine at those times.
Good night, all.
Keep posting d.d.! You drive me nuts sometimes, so you are doing some thing right!! Lol!

So wonderful to read such supportive posts from people. @TheBoss1 all I can say is from my own experiences with losing loved ones to cancer is that I was able to say good bye, and how much I loved them, and also to be with them at their final moment. So many people do not get that opportunity, I did and thank GOD for that. My Dad in 96, my sister in 97, Mom & favorite Aunt in 2003 (on the same day ironically.) Your mom is blessed to have a great son like you and I certainly hope that you are taking good care of yourself too!
Glad that during all of the fighting that takes place in here, that there are good moments like these.
@d.d. When I was pasting the Elmer’s glue post, it was directly below an obvious clip job by Doug2. I did not even see YOURS until you and Doug Z posts appeared before mine.
So, if you’re blaming me for making a wise remark about YOUR post, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Because yours wasn’t there until I hot the submit button.

Harry Reid is the Smothers character in Casino. The Pesci character Anthony Spillotro. One the worst homicidal manics in our history. The DeNiro character is Lefty Rosenthal. He won money as a player, very rare. He revolutionized gaming in Las Vegas. <<<
Papa, I know all of this. Which makes today's headline about Harry Reid saying Romney is destroying the Mormon faith even funnier. He was Nevada's Gaming Commision chairman during that time. It showed Dickie Smothers being comped a room, cocaine and a much-taller show girl at the Casino. I'm sure Reid was aware of the movie, and if any of it was untrue, he would have sued Scorcese.
Also in "Casino" in a small role as a "crooked blackjack dealer" was former 4-Season Tommy DeVito, who is a distant relative of mine. Pesci's character in "Goodfellas" was named Tommy DeVito. Tommy's brother was my Uncle Nick DeVito who was an original member of The Seasons' predecessor' group "The Four Lovers." My late dad was road manager for the group when they made their first appearance on "Ed Sullivan" singing their one-hit "You're The Apple of My Eye." Uncle Nicky and my father's sister my Aunt Mitzi DeVito are both gone now and I keep in touch with my cousins in Vegas through Facebook.
@Sicilian Papa: I don’t know what the beef about me is. I like DB, Coffee, Ratboy and Hillbilly and others who I haven’t seen tonight. Although I disagree a lot with Suiko and TheBoss1, I respect the gentlemen and I hope the respect is mutual.
I guess the beef is I got called out for complaining about posters here who mostly do not use their own words. They clip and paste, and to me, it wastes my time and your time. They should just provide a link to the original documents so we don’t have to scroll through 32 pages on a Monday.
I guess that some believe the more words they post, the more respect will come there way.

Interesting stuff, I really don’t mind the copy and paste as long the information is from reliable source.
I have an interesting family tree that starts with my Uncle Willie Pep. Guilelmo Papaleo but the sports writers couldn’t spell that, that is how he became Willie Pep.
Willie was straight arrow. He had some very interesting friends and so did my dad. They were both honest guys but that is the culture I grew up in. I had the best bookie operation in the history of the third grade. My cousin and me got busted when one of the kids mother’s complained about her son losing his lunch money to us.
I will read the copy and paste material if it comes from a reliable source. Good information is good information, Doug Z has interesting posts. He doesn’t abuse the copy and paste. I have read a lot of his opinions.
Some people like to share information through sources and that is fine. I’m pretty easy going about the copy and paste. I don’t read them all but I do read a lot from the left and right.
