I hate the new Bones intro song.

  • psychic

So I’m not alone, after all! It sounds terrible and grates on the ears. At least the old one was tolerable.

  • PinoyTVCritic

again so much for “The Voice is gonna fall so bad as new shows will premiere”

I’m laughing to all of ’em…

  • Chris

@omar–a show can get renewed and still put in a losing performance. We’ve seen underperforming shows get renewed over and over, and that’s one reason the networks are declining so badly. The most important reason is poor development, but the secondary reason is refusal to accept that the results of poor development have failed, and need to be put down, to make room for new shows.

Castle should have been gone years ago. But they most likely will renew it again. And it will fail utterly in syndication, making the point of keeping it on this long–pointless. :)

@Tom–dude, resolving sexual tension NEVER works as a ratings-getter–people invariably drift away after that happens–yes, they also drift away if nothing happens–which is why a show built around sexual tension between the leads tends to lose steam, no matter what they do.

Of course, Castle could just be losing steam because it sucks so damn much.

  • jessie

@Chris, you really hate Castle, dont you? in every post you say the same.
Oh sorry I forgot telling my age: 95 years old ;) hahah. Castle rules! 10.45 million is much better than 9.21 or 7.61. Congrats Castle! with nor money nor promo you win!!

  • Aeiouy

I think half the Hawaii 5-0 demo were enjoying the original show in their 30s

  • @jessie

Blah blah blah blah, audience size matters so much.

There is one explanation for cbs downfall on Monday nights. NO TWO AND A HALF MEN @ 9 PM. Remember 2 seasons back when 2 1/2 Men Star left the show or got fired (Whatever!) and did not finish the complete season? Well, the end result of No two and a half men meant way below average ratings for the rest of the lineup even affecting the 8 and 8:30 shows in its lineup. Put Two and a Half Men back on Mondays at 9 and put partners in at 8:30 on Thursday giving it a much more deserved leadin with Big Bang theory and problems will be resolved. I find it bit weird that H50 hit a low of 1.8? Guarantee if Two and a Half return to Mondays at 9 we will have CBS in full competition with NBC for Monday Nights making it a real interesting 2012-13 season.. Too Bad CBS doesn’t read this or ever listen to the little people who love to study and follow ratings because I would bet my life on this that this would turn around an already dismal season by cbs standards!!! CBS if you read this TAKE MY FREE ADVICE and then Hire me to help run your schedule lol or better yet you own half of the CW they need a miracle let me take a stab at it it’s already bleeding too death (with viewers that is)…

Wow, is The Voice the new American Idol? It’s like a death star! Killing all the shows of other network on Mondays! LOL!

SO sad about The Mob Doctor… I like the show…

  • Dan S

@Jessie, if audience size really matters then shows like Harry’s Law would’ve been renewed. I may not agree with the 18-49 demo but that is the standard advertisers use to determine which shows survive. Castle has a very nice audience size but Revolutions 3.4 will trump 2.1 every time.

  • Ally

The Mob Doctor is a big flop!

  • Chris

@Jessie–kiddo, the nets don’t care about total viewers if the demo sucks. And Castle’s demo is sucking more every season.

And you really think it’s staying above 10mil viewers this season? Never has before. We’ll see series lows in total viewers as well. This is a dying show, that has only stayed on this long because ABC has kept it on life support. But once it’s a dud in syndication as well……..

  • jessie

@dan S thanks for your answer, but how can you know the age of the people who are watching tv, it is impossible. May be you know the size, but the age?!?! I really think it is very well manipulated, very easy to do that. I surf the net all day and I know the KIND of people who watch Castle. Anyway, I thank god not happened to Castle what happened to H50, it was disastrous.

@chris Castle dying??!! haha, season 4 was the most successful. And won 2 people choice award this year!! what happened with H50 season 4. haha
I have 82 episodes of Castle, how many episodes of h50 have you got?

  • jessie

ah, i was watching Castle rating last season, and 2.1 is not bad at all. Castle had the same rating several times and nothing wrong happen to them. We will survive!!

  • Holly

but how can you know the age of the people who are watching tv, it is impossible.

    I’ll let the puppets explain.

If you have more questions after watching, I’ll try to answer them.

  • jessie

@Holly i cant watch the video, i am not good at listening. English is not my mother tongue. but i read the info, it say something very interesting!!!

“There is no doubt that viewers often take how networks handle their favorite shows personally. But we do not believe that networks are out to sabotage particular shows. Networks love shows they can make a lot of money on, like shows they can make good money on, and don’t like shows they can’t make much money on”

    Nothing more to say.

  • bluejays

@chris. I don’t watch Castle and I’m not a fan but how anyone can crow about its performance after the shock of HFO’s figures I do not know.

  • jessie

@bluejays i have nothing against hf0, but there’s someone here, who loves that show and has attacked caslte constantly. that’s all.
hfo will get good rating this season too. ;)

  • Chris

@Jessie–I think your quarrel is with the Nielsen people, not to mention the people who run this site. It’s a poll, and while it is probably never EXACTLY accurate, it’s pretty close. The audience for Castle skews very old.

You and your friends do not constitute a random sampling of the population. In a few weeks, people will be asking themselves “How could Romney lose the election? Everybody I know voted for him.” And so it goes.
