Cant belive how low hawaii FIVE 0 ratings are their more like repeat figeres, Still good for RVL although i still think it will be cancelled by may

  • bluejays

Those are just crazy crazy numbers at ten!! So Castle and HFO couldn’t get ratings that matched their end of seasons numbers for the new season premiers!

It can’t all be down to Revolution. When Smash was pulling the 3.8’s both Castle and HFo did better than last night and that was the time of year when their numbers were falling anyway. This is really weird and bizarre.

I’m actually kind of freaked out – and not in a fannish way but in a ‘oh my god the numbers are deranged’ way.

  • Gamer101

confused, the voice was 4.3 in prelim… shouldnt it be a 4.5?

  • James C

I would immediately switch Partners and M&M around so that Partners doesn’t interrupt the flow between HIMYM and 2BG.

  • SJ

HIMYM – the only show CBS can possibly be happy with given last night’s ratings. I guess Mike and Molly is a distant second. I’m still flabbergasted at those H50 numbers. It’s a veteran show, it has a built-in audience, it has ruled that time slot for two seasons and it’s on CBS! I can’t remember any returning show dropping so quickly from one season to the next without there being a significant cast change/behind-the-scenes kerfuffle.

Wow, even worse for DWTS. ABC needs to make some changes on Mondays because their four-year-old lineup is withering before their eyes. We could be saying goodbye to Castle this season…

Revolution dropped seven tenths from last week. At this rate, it’ll be in serious trouble come episode 4.

Good for Bones. Is The Mob Doctor getting pulled or what?

  • Tony ^_^

“How I Met Your Mother” and “2 Broke Girls” are at nearly identical ratings. :o

“Castle” and “Hawaii 5-0″ are once again going to be competing for 2nd place in the timeslot. Unless “Revolution” falls into low-2’s by December…

A 2.5 for “Dancing With the Stars”?!? But surely it can’t get worse! Oh wait- this was just the fall premiere AND the lower-rated spring cycle has yet to start…

Considering how awful FOX does on Mondays, they should be pleased that “Bones” didn’t fall against more competition.

CBS , okay with HIMYM & 2BG , unless Partners can pull better numbers it will be replaced, HFO I think is okay but needs more support.
NBC , great as expected with The Voice , I expect to see a drop of .2 each week during the month of October when it comes to Revolution.
FOX , Bones should be okay since the network does not expect much from their dramas, but Mob Doctor will not see an additional order.
ABC , Dancing and Castle resonates with the AARP so we can expect nice viewing numbers even if the demo sucks.

Damn..kick the LA Complex while it’s down on the ground..

  • bluejays

Okay Bill or Holly or someone who knows their stuff.

Lets say that this is the start of some sort of horror season for HFO? lets say it doesn’t get better that it’s just one of those bizarre things where a show does well (and those that keep saying it wasn’t doing before are wrong, it outperformed most ten pm shows in its time slot most of the season and most shows drop their numbers a lot by spring) and then suddenly tanks one season out the blue (Miami Vice style) – will the syndication deal save it?

Or is there a limit here for how low a CBS ten pm show can go? Deal or not. And could the deal be null and void due to craptastic ratings?

  • Gina

    Yay for Bones!!!!!!!!!

  • fringegot5seasons

WOW that 10pm hour. NBC winning it with something… over 3.0, Castle getting CHUNKED in the finals and HF0 down further. Yipes, nothing on CBS over a 4.0 on premiere night – last season even NCIS and CM were above a 4.0 on premieres.

Let’s see if the dramas have fared better than the Monday lineup but sheesh, this wasn’t even a good night for ABC or Fox, and NBC took hits week to week too.

  • Zed

What are the chances ABC doesn’t pick up DWTS for the spring, and instead put dramas (since they ordered plenty – most of them are pretty good) on Monday and the (not-so-great) comedies on Tuesday?

Probably very slim chances, but worth a shot in my opinion…

  • CrimTV

    Smash dropped a whole ratings tenth from it’s first to second episode (3.8 to 2.8) and then dropped to a 2.3 in it’s third week! Episode 1’s 3.8 followed The Voice’s 6.7, episode 2’s 2.8 followed The Voice’s 6.0 and episode three’s 2.3 followed also a 6.0.

Revolution is doing a lot better!

  • bluejays

@SJ. I am gobsmacked at HFO too. I am a fan but its not that, genuinely I just can’t believe a show can go from being the most sucesful in its time slot for two seasons to crashing and burning so badly.

I know there are many on here being all ‘oh I expected it its always done badly’ but for the sane amongst us who look at the numbers, tonights ratings really are freakish!

I’m also shocked at Castle. And Revolution doesn’t explain it. Not fully. It’s very very very weird.

  • Jared K

Crap. Scrap my previous optimistic sentiments about Castle starting strong and steady. A 2.1 for the premiere is not good, especially since Castle has a history of dipping pretty far during the middle of the season. And this is behind DWTS (albeit a greatly diminished DWTS than previous years). If Castle is pulling in the mid 1’s when it has to air behind the Bachelor from January to March, it might not recover, freshly minted syndication deal or not.

Shockingly, it turns out there aren’t an inexhaustible reservoir of viewers on Monday, even if if is one of the most-watched nights of TV per week. The price of NBC’s revival on the night is substantial ratings hit for every other network.

  • Samunto

Seriously no one ever saw those ratings for CBS and esp H50 coming!

  • Jere

I agree about Hawaii 5-0 not good. but kinda cbs fault. They moved a male driven show out of 9 and put a female driven show on. Hawaii 5-0 has never been a big hit. Always thought it would be a great fit on tue at 10. Unforgettable I think would work better . But I hope it comes back up. Love the show and after last years cliffhanger

  • Petar Ivanov

NBC owned Mondays. Period. They are true monsters. The voice BEAT in every half all networks and RVN beat with more than 1 point in demo. Its like we are in some crazy NBC CEO/BOSS dream. And may be CBS nightmare.

  • Ratingly

Hawaii 50’s initial appeal was 1) good scenery 2) Scott Caan being funny. All of this family history mythology with the dull lead guy just drags everything down.

  • Ultima

What a difference a year makes. These are March/April type numbers.

Bill and Robert keep saying it (as do some commenters), but people never believe it until they finallly see it.

    Then they act surprised…
