    HIMYM is doing fine @ 8:00. Only a tenth behind the tentpole that is 2 broke girls @ 9:00. if it keeps getting up or maintaining this pace (which i doubt)CBS will have no other option than renew it for a ninth season. Loved the premier BTW.

    @bluejays
    Castle was preemepted because of sports, so that could explain the low numbers,
    I think the explanation for Hawaii is even easier. Castle is female oriented, and with NBC having nothing on for the last 2 years, all male viewers were left with, was Hawaii. Now that NBC has Revolution , male viewers have dumped Hawaii and moved to Revolution.
    Actually CBS recovered after Partners with 2BG , and Mike&Molly did very well considering the last half minutes of The Voice are usually the strongest. CBS problem was after M&M, a lot of viewers left CBS and moved to NBC. Huge drop from 3.1 to 1.8.
    So I just think Hawaii got lucky last season because NBC had nothing on and because all CBS Monday shows were boosted by the ridiculous high numbers 2.5 man got last season until Christmas.

    I still can’t believe those numbers. Those are like, spring ratings in September!

    On CBS, everything crashed and burned even 2BG. I thought that show was going to be pulling 4’s. Partners is a dead show airing (It was kind of expected though).

    ABC also crashed and burned.

    FOX will probably be at CW levels with Mob Doctor next week.

    NBC still doing good, but for how long? there’s nothing about Revolution that makes me want to watch it and I feel lots of folks think the same way.

    I can’t wait for CW shows to premiere in the next few weeks. That is going to be so much fun!

    @Samunto
    Seriously no one ever saw those ratings for CBS and esp H50 coming!

    Nonsense. I’ll give you Hawaii Five-0, but the CBS sitcoms are right where they should be.

  • a p garcia

    Partners is BEAR food only ?WHEN? is the real question.

  • Cyrax86

    Castle was amazing, so these numbers are disappointing to me. It’s probably going off the air with 103 episodes next May although I still think it should get a final season in the Thursday 8 pm death slot (maybe in midseason?)…

    H5-0 seems to be fizzling out, can’t believe two years ago it was the top rated freshman drama during premiere week…

  • eridapo

    I was shocked this morning with the H50 number, and now Castle too is showing the effects of NBCs big night. WOW….

    I just can’t believe the adjustment given the size of the Green Bay market a whole two tenths for DWTS and 4 tenths for Castle.

    As I said a couple of weeks ago, I believe the numbers for Broadcast are going to surprise us by how low they will go. I predicted a 3 tenths drop for all networks a couple of weeks ago, but I will wait to see how the CBS shows do tonight to see if I’m onto something.

    I really do think that our viewing habits in the last year are changing faster than what the ratings reveal….

  • Oliver

    Ratings were never the problem for a HIMYM renewal, especially since it’s CBS’ youngest skewing show. The question is cast contracts.

  • Raykov

    Is there a chance of CBS selling the original H50 to TNT like ABC did with Cougar Town? It’s a CBS Production, so there’s no one to cut the fee if it was a toss-up, but they can bite the bullet for one more season and launch it in Sundays or Fridays.

    Yes, that’s usually what happens.

    On CBS, everything crashed and burned even 2BG. I thought that show was going to be pulling 4?s.

    Just because you had unrealistic expectations doesn’t mean a show crashed and burned. 2 Broke Girl’s hadn’t been higher than a 4.0 since early February – why would you expect it to do so now?

  • bluejays

    The numbers for CBS aren’t that shocking for most of the night as some are arguing. The numbers for HFO and Castle at ten are. I wouldn’t have been shocked with either show getting 2.6’s or slightly higher but a 1.8 for Hawaii and a 2.1 for Castle premiers is shocking and anyone who says they saw it coming for either show is full of it.

  • Ben Thompson

    CBS maybe should have tried a special BBT or another HIMYM episode at 8:30 just becuase this night was one of their bigger risks. And than have launched Partners the following week.

    TMD will make a tasty meal for “The Bear”.

    Why is the CW still in business?

  • MoHasanie

    @Ultima

    Well 2BG could have gotten 4.0+ had the lead in gotten at least a 3.0.

  • Johnny G

    This is so odd. Remember when CBS OWNED Mondays? I honestly cannot believe that NBC is doing so well with The Voice as they are. I mean, good for them. I always wanted CBS to fall because I think they’ve been doing too well with terrible (IMO) shows. But I did not think it would happen this quickly and with NBC at that. Honestly shocked.

  • Cass rowlwland

    abc has all them viewers but no doing that good in the demo

  • Johnny G

    Also, WOW with how horrible H-50 did. Last year I remember being surprised by how well they did. But less than a TWO. WOW!

  • Ultima

    Those are like, spring ratings in September!

    This needs more emphasis.

    Why are people surprised in the fall when the numbers are the same as the previous spring? Why are people surprised in the spring when the numbers are down from the fall? Why are people surprised about this EVERY SINGLE TIME?!

    Do people not know that broadcast ratings have been declining for decades?

    In 2000-2001, the big four averaged a 4.4 season average live adults 18-49 rating.

    In 2011-2012, the big four averaged a 2.8 season average live+7 adults 18-49 rating.

    That’s a massive decline. Stop expecting the ratings to go up and just accept reality.
