“MTV2’s Guy Code” PICKED UP FOR THIRD SEASON
“Guy Code” SEASON TWO DELIVERS HIGHEST RATED AND MOST WATCHED ORIGINAL SeRIES IN MTV2 HISTORY
NEW YORK, NY (September 26, 2012) – MTV2 is handing a third season pick-up to its “Guy Code” franchise after the series closed out its sophomore run on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 as the highest-rated and most watched original series ever, growing its ratings across the board from season one. Season two averaged a .40 among P12-34, a +21% increase over season one, and 296,000 total viewers, a +20% increase. Among MTV2’s core M12-34 demo, the second season averaged a .49 rating, marking a +17% increase. Throughout the course of the season, “Guy Code” remained in the Top 3 of all original shows among M12-24 on ad-supported cable during its time period (11:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.). The third season of “Guy Code” will premiere in January 2013.
Continuing its celebration of the “Guy Code” franchise, MTV2 will air three one-hour compilation specials devoted to the all-important topics of “Hooking Up” (premiere Tuesday, October 2 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT), “Going Out” (premiere Tuesday, October 9 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT) and “Manscaping” (premiere Tuesday, October 16 at 11:00 p.m.). In between seasons, fans should continue to head to the Guy Code Blog (www.guycodeblog.mtv.com) for cast member updates and new digital shorts, as well as for all things MEN, including comedy, sports, hip-hop, tattoos, MMA, celebrities and much more.
The third season pick-up of “Guy Code” continues MTV2’s investment and momentum as an original programming destination on Tuesdays at 11:00 p.m., notching a +48% increase among P12-34 over the first season of “Hip Hop Squares” and a +43% increase over the first season of “Nitro Circus Live.”
MTV2 is home to Malennials, featuring music, comedic and action-oriented original programming such as Hip Hop Squares, The DUB Magazine Project, 120 Minutes, Nitro Circus Live and the dominant hip-hop franchise, Sucker Free.
