CBS Sweeps Premiere Tuesday in Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49
The new drama Vegas premiered to 14.7 million viewers, sweeping its time period in all key demographics, while NCIS and NCIS: LOS ANGELES opened with their biggest premieres since 2009, as both swept their time periods, leading CBS to an across-the-board victory on Premiere Tuesday, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Sept. 25.
NCIS (P) posted its second-largest premiere audience ever (20.16m), topping "The Voice," "Dancing with the Stars" and FOX comedies in viewers and key demographics. NCIS was first in households (12.3/19), viewers (20.16m), adults 25-54 (5.6/15) and adults 18-49 (4.1/12). If ratings hold, NCIS will have posted its best deliveries in all of these measures since Feb. 7, 2012 (the program's 200th episode).
At 9PM, NCIS: LOS ANGELES (P) was first in households (10.2/15), viewers (16.72m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (3.4/09). If the ratings hold, NCIS: LOS ANGELES delivered its second-largest premiere audience and its best deliveries in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Jan. 3, 2012.
At 10PM, Vegas (P) was first in households (9.3/15), viewers (14.70m), adults 25-54 (3.5/09) and adults 18-49 (2.5/07). Vegas added +590,000 viewers (from 14.11m, +4%) compared to last year's premiere of UNFORGETTABLE. If the ratings hold, Vegas posted the largest fall delivery for a CBS 10PM drama since 2002's JUDGING AMY.
For the night, CBS was first in households (10.6/17), viewers (17.19m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09).
Updated Tuesday ratings will be available this afternoon.
Editor’s Note: DVR penetration is at 46%, up from 42% last season. Last fall, Live+7 audiences for original entertainment series on CBS averaged more than a +1.4 million viewer gain over Live+ Same Day ratings, more than any other network. This season, we expect DVR usage to continue to expand, increasing DVR playback deliveries.

wow it’s weird reading a press release where they don’t really need to spin the numbers
*cough* ABC *cough*
I enjoyed NCIS: LA, I didn’t watch Vegas but for those who did, did you like or dislike it?
Vegas was just ok for me, but NBC or ABC had nothing on for me.
Vegas looks good. First rate actors make a difference.
I enjoyed it, but it was a but slow at times. I’m glad that it did fairly well, at least. I’d like to see how it develops.
Vegas was very solid. A tid bit generic. But solid overall. And the cast is definitely why I will be onboard for quite a bid.
Certainly a much better written show then the other big drama to premeire so far (Revolution).
Vegas = Longmire set in the 50-60′s(?) I’m glad it did good. Hope the demo grows.
Definitely worth watching- Vegas
Good for vegas. It’s still sitting in my DVR. I will have to check it out.
Vegas kind of bored me but its has potential. Its slow moving but it could go the way of POI a slow start but then get more involved. Its a very different show for network TV, its more FX and cable but it could be very involving. The creator wrote Goodfellas and Michael Chiklas always is amazing. I only watched to see him and he always delivers its an older skewing show but a good one.
It’s kinda suck-ish, but it’s okay, it has own thing, but it’s not like it will be gone in the few months or something.
I consider Vegas to be a flop. I mean come on, only 2.2 in second half hour, no real competition and a good lead-in. The show will drop next week to at least 2.3. I actually expected this show to be a hit. Now I hope Elementary does good, but if not… Well, this might not be a good year for CBS newbies.
@Hubert, Elementary has the best slot on CBS. If it’s a flop CBS doesn’t have a really successful new drama this season.
Vegas will continue to drop if it coninues to be a horrible show. so it will conintue to drop.

Very disappointed in Vegas.. It was so boring. They had the plot revolve around a murder that no one cared about. And it seems like its going to be a basic cop show with some 1960s elements
Vegas so boring, agrre with previous post, horrible show ,and as said ,worst ever for CBS drama since 2004,period
After seeing Michael Chiklis act as a good cop/bad cop in “The Shield” I always wanted to see him strictly as a bad guy and I really loved his performance. Was happy with the ratings and I hope it can keep it up.
I liked Vegas, so far it’s the only new show I’ve been impressed with. I’ll probably DVR The Last Resort and Elementary.
Revolution is soooooo overrated. I don’t like the premise and the acting was horrific. It will survive only because of it’s lead in. Vegas is a much better show and I hope it survives.
Well done show. I enjoyed and would like to see this given a chance to attack viewers.
