Alright GH!!! Keep up the great work!! Loving the show right now!

  • Ginger Eliz

Go GH! I get such a kick out of the fact that all of the sudden ABC is doing press releases for ABC daytime after not having anything to tout after the disastrous results of the Revolution and GAA. Go GH. Kicking A in the 2 pm timeslot!

  • Sara

Go GH and Go Ron Carlivati and Fu.K o.F big time pitiful haters on twitter and go down Days with your Rafe and Gabi GARBAGE !!!!

  • Pat

I hate these “releases” with no other network data for comparison.

  • MBmomof3

    Go GH! You rock!

  • ann

Um, I hate to be a spoil sport but these are not great ratings for GH. And GH is barely mentioned in the press release. I’ve seen on other boards, they stayed the same in the 18-34 at .6, so if they went up, which they apparently did, it wasn’t enough to even move the average. And they went up like 20,000 in the 18-49 when they were down 21,000 the week before?

And they haven’t made up in households what they lost over the past two weeks.

Even the ABC spin machine on that press release couldn’t find much to crow about for GH. Maybe I’m looking at it wrong. I’m not a hater, just realistic.

But seriously, these aren’t good ratings. They went up slightly after two weeks of falling. That’s it.

  • Marissa

    Way to go, GH !!!

  • John

Uh oh, do we have another Richard in ann? Oh well, there’s always someone trying to rain on others parade.

  • donald

days of our lives is 1000 -0percent better than gag me gh sucks boo boo

  • ann

Um, John. What? Because someone is looking at the ratings objectively?

If anyone doesn’t think this is wonderful they are supposed to not say anything? Is this a GH fan board? I’m not sure what the problem is.

  • MBmomof3

Yes, this is spin and the numbers may not warrant a press release. That said, I despise ABC/D for what they did to my beloved daytime soaps and I berated them for not promoting their lone soap, GH. Now they are issuing press releases, doing cross-promos with other ABC shows and promoting GH via other media such as twitter. So to me it is a “win” in that ABC is finally acknowledging GH even exists. I’ll take what I can get and thank ABC for their recent support of GH. I think GH fans and ABC have lots to celebrate with the upcoming 50th anniversary just around the corner and the recent improvements to the show. GO GH!!!

  • Fox

    “garnering, surging, spiking, soaring …’

I’ve missed these LOL! releases from ABC.

  • Mike

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! to the press release. I’m totally with you MBmomof3. I can’t believe how they do no promotion of GH. I’m not sure about the days since I’m at work but I have ABC on in the morning for GMA and in the evening and have NEVER seen GH promoted, not even the time change. Some effective promoting in primetime could do wonders for their ratings. Go figure!! Anyway, can’t wait to see the weekly’s to see if they are truly just spinning.

  • Mike

The board has been very peaceful for the last week or so. Let’s keep it that way.

  • Ty

Go GH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F*** the haters. Bring positive vibes to the group!

  • Sophie

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE GH right now! It really is the best it’s been in a while. I can’t wait to watch it, and it’s on an hour earlier…. Thanks GH!!!
I’m glad Anna is back, Kate is doing amazing work. And love the new nurses,
and the OLTL gang. I will miss Steve Burton tho!

Daytime TV Ratings Week of September 17-21, 2012: GENERAL HOSPITAL Up
The daytime soap opera ratings are in for the week of September 17-21, 2012. DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GENERAL HOSPITAL and THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS were up in Total Viewers. In its second week in a new timeslot in most cities, GH tied THE VIEW as the No. 1 program in Daytime in Women 18-34 (0.6 rating/200,000), it’s highest number since September 2011.

    From SON:
Total Viewers (versus last week/versus last year)
    1. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS 4,289,000 (+73,000/+40,000)
    2. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL 3,139,000 (-25,000/+497,000)
    3. GENERAL HOSPITAL 2,578,000 (+50,000/+139,000)
    4. DAYS OF OUR LIVES 2,312,000 (+15,000/-10,000)

Y&R reached a new low in Women 18-49 viewers with 734,000, but that was still enough to keep the show ranked No. 1 (THE VIEW had 639,000).

    From TBTN:
GENERAL HOSPITAL on ABC has settled in comfortably weekdays at 2 p.m., building from lead-in THE CHEW across the board and maintaining audience levels from one year earlier (when it aired at 3 p.m.). Based on the Live Plus Same Day data from Nielsen for the week of Sept. 17, GENERAL HOSPITAL versus THE CHEW increased by 350,000 total viewers (2.23 to 2.58 million), 45 percent in women 18-49 (419,000 to 609,000), 43 percent in women 25-54 (564,000 to 808,000) and 34 percent among women 18-34 (149,000 to 200,000).

GENERAL HOSPITAL compared to one year earlier was on par in total viewers and women 18-34, with erosion of just nine percent and eight percent, respectively, among women 18-49 and 25-54. THE CHEW, in contrast, continues to trail ALL MY CHILDREN from one year earlier by double-digit percentages.
