Tonight, ABC is premiering Last Resort at 8PM, which has been playfully coined as ABC's "death slot" (No shows in that timeslot have gone on to a second season since 2009). However, Last Resort has been receiving some pretty aggressive promotion since the end of the fall season, which may have at least put it on some viewers' radar. We've already asked how many episodes you think Last Resort will air, but do you think Last Resort will at least get some eyeballs for its debut? Keep in mind it is going up directly against The Big Bang Theory and The X Factor...

I errored on the side of caution guessing 2.1-2.6 but hope it goes a lot higher. This show may surprise & could be ABC’s answer to NCIS but a lot smarter. This show has a lot of good buzz even better than RVN which I love. As long as it stays above 2.0 I’m sure ABC will leave it in place but could move it later if it lives up to its potential.

I’m with the majority here. Between 2.7 and 3.3. But it is going up against CBS’ biggest comedies. To do well it has to take viewers from the other networks. On the other hand this is a different genre for ABC. It’s targeted demo I’m sure are the men who favor CBS. But it also has lady appeal. I hope it does well. And I hope they don’t politicize it too much because that seems to turn people off and ABC loves to politicize things.

  • Big Shooter

    Last Resort 2.5
    Greys 3.9
    Scandal 2.2

    BBT 5.3
    Men 4.3
    POI 3.5
    Elementary 3.0

    X Factor 3.1
    Glee 2.5

    SNL 1.4
    UaN 1.2
    Office 2.0
    Parks 1.6
    Rock Center 0.9

    2.4 on the night
I like the Pilot and want it to get more but think BBT (mainly)and then XF will dominate (sadly)

  • Norman

2.7-3.3 This high concept stuff tends to at least debut well.

  • Babygate

Man, it looks like tonight is going to be a network bloodbath. But I’m sure CBS will win. I hope ABC wins but it likely won’t. Especially with the loser Scandal to wrap up the night.

I can’t believe people are saying this show is too intelligent. Are you for real? The previews were totally mind-numbing and melodramatic, offering zero reason to think it’s anything more than hyped J.J. Abrams-style drivel that happens to look like a movie.

There’s no reason is should premiere big, but I think it will. 3.4-3.9.

Why wasnt Elementary included? Or is a seperate poll for that coming?

  • swalker

Wonder what will last longer, Revolution or Last Resort…

  • MoHasanie

It can’t do well. Its just too tough of a time slot. TBBT and TAAHM are the no.2 and no.3 highest rated comedies and will eat away a large amount of its potential audience, especially males. And the X factor should also be able to manage 3.0 and will probably take the potential female audience.

    Tonight should be very interesting…
It will be interesting to see if TBBT will premiere higher than MF
It will be interesting to see how TAAHM does after TBBT
How much of TAAHM’s audience POI retains
How X factor can manage against those two giant comedies
How Glee and Grey’s perform against each other
And how Last resort and Elementary premiere
How badly NBC’s line up will fall against the competition

  • SarahL

I love Andre Braugher, but I cannot imagine how a show with this premise can be a season long series. We’ll see.

I expect low rating for The Last Resort because it opposite BBT on CBS, XF on Fox and these are ratings magnets. It has So-So competition on NBC and I feel it should be shown later or another day. I am sure the actors are believeable and the writing is OK, I just don’t expect big numbers for this show.

  • Matto

To be honest, this is a hard one to guess. But I’m gonna say inbetween 9.5-11.5M and inbetween a 3.0 and 3.5 because it did get a 76/100 on Metacritic which is pretty high on there for an ABC drama. But for ABC tonight:

    Last Resort- 9.5-11.5M 3.0-3.5
    Grey’s Anatomy- 11-12M 4.0-4.5
    Scandal- 7-8M 2.0-2.5

  • Joseph A

Thinking 2.6 is generous considering it faces ,
Football (1st game with the real refs back so people might check it out tonight that otherwise would not).
    CBS Comedy Hour.
    X Factor
    ++
The only reason it might score higher would be that it is the only Drama on at that hour.

  • Trey

    It will get a 4.5

  • Temis

    2.7-3.3

  • tv#1

This show looks like it is going to be very good. I hope it rates well. It could use a better time-slot though. It’s current time-slot is really going to hurt its ability to rate well.

  • João Paulo

    3.1 or 3.2 for sure.

  • Mike K

I’m going with a 2.1-2.6 range for it. Big Bang is just too strong. I’m sure it has nothing to worry about with X Factor or NBC comedies.

  • Mike

I love this type of show and I would want it to be a hit, but it is against TBBT, so I voted 2.1/2.6
