Those keeping score on a daily basis already know that Revolution (with it's second episode) was the number one new show in premiere week with adults 18-49 followed by Elementary. But below there are two tables (one 18-49, one total viewers) with all the new Monday-Thursday broadcast series in one place.

Update: you'll note The Neighbors (which drew a 3.2) isn't on the list and would have been second with adults 18-49. It wasn't on this list because this report excluded special previews that didn't air in their normal time slot, but indeed it was still the #2  new show with adults 18-49 on the week.

Shouldn’t The Neighbors (gasp) be #2 in this listing??????

note: neighbors isn’t on the list because it was a special preview that didn’t air in its normal time period. i’ll update the post though.

New Normal turned out to be a better show than I thought it would be. Kind of like All in the Family with Ellen Barkin being the new Archie Bunker, and two meatheads but no Edith.

  • Bookworm

Happy for Go on and Vegas; Both are good shows!!!

  • Ram510

I like this chart! Interesting to see how the newbies compare to one another

  • joel

The only show that looks out of place in The Mindy Project, which I expect to sink in the coming weeks. Partners isn’t any better of a show but a 2.4 is already bad given CBS’s expectations for that time slot.

  • Rodrigo Gutierrez

Besides Revolution and Go On, nothing looks that impressive.

  • a p garcia

TMD is dead along with Partners, Scandal is on life support along with HF0 even Castle. TMP is your typical sit-com without the comedy and may not even make it to Jan. Even Glee is in trouble, so this TV season is full of surprises.

  • The Mike Factor

Thank you for posting this Amanda! It’s very interesting

    Underwhelming ratings, underwhelming shows.

  • Jay S.

Revolution and Go On are the only real winners so far. Very dreary list of newcomers, hard to believe this is the best the networks could come up with.

  • gary m

Rod and Jay must work for NBC. Elementary and Vegas look strong, esp with weak competition. Next week will tell the tale for Revolution. I love Go On, tough slot but hope it holds up.

  • fringegot5seasons

Elementary is actually a shocker – considering the rest of CBS’ 10pm lineup this week and even their falling 9pm shows, it really came in full throttle for how the season’s looking premiere-wise. Vegas has a ton of viewers, no surprise there.

Fox/ABC/NBC shows are all certainly underperforming what the networks could have expected. Not all NBC but this week, their Wednesday lineup for example just sank like a rock.

  • scratcher base

Go On cheated with a big lead-in so that doesn’t count. Revolution had a big lead-in too but huge competition so its more legit.

  • Chris

I predict sometime this coming week Revolution and Go On will be the first full season pickups, and The Mob Doctor will be gone.

  • TVMAN

Seems like for most networks, ratings are down a lot from last year.

  • Barbie

It seems that for CBS (especially) and ABC, ratings have been much worse! It’s like, where are people if not jo e watching tv?

  • Jay S.

@gary m – Revolution and Go On have aired multiple times and held very respectably. Elementary had a decent debut, Vegas less so, jury is still out on them until we get more data.

What?? Given that they faced such weak competition (Private Practice and Parenthood for Vegas and Scandal and Rock Center for Elementary) they don’t look strong. Vegas lost a BIG chunk of it’s lead in and didn’t even hit a 3.0 (when it’s competitors were below 2! It will most likely drop even further next week. I’ll grant that Elementary premiered well (a 10pm show getting over a 3.0 is great!) but it didn’t exactly set the world on fire given that it’s competitors were pretty low and it will probably dip below 3.0 next week.

Vegas has surpassed my expectations. Wonderful cast. Definitely not food for the cancellation bear.

As as devout Andre Braugher fan, I can’t be impartial. Last Resort is my favorite show this season. Unfortunately the writing is very provocative and will not be digested easily by viewers. Hard to get a season 2.

Elementary is a keeper. Jonny Lee Miller as Holmes has to be respected, but I can’t say I am charmed. Lucy Liu on the other hand is another story. It was a brilliant decision by the show creators to cast a female lead as the infamous Dr Watson, and unsurprisingly, name her “Joan”. Lucy Liu has been a superb choice.
