    Why do people have to base everything on racism scandal is a bad show period! If it was really a good show then it will probably do well no matter where u put it. Ouat is successful on its own which makes it a good show. Racism is not an excuse. And not to mention scandal has like the strongest lead in on ABC and it still can’t even hold half its audience. Ya it seems to me that ABC has a lot of faith in scandal even there r new shows on ABC that need the greys lead in. If it was gcb or even missing after greys then I’m pretty sure it wouldnve done better than scandal I’m not here to judge the show by the Cosby show had a black family and it was successful because it was a. Good show. Race doesn’t matter. I’m just pointing out facts peaple just don’t like to see the reality. I really reccommamd ABC not to waste a strong lead in on a show that wont even grow and give it to a show that really needs it.

    HEY POSTERS

    HEAVY TRAFFIC TODAY!

    Okay how about a reality check when it comes to the series Scandal ,
    ++
    The issue here is not the color of the lead , the issue here is that ,, THE VERY IDEA BEHIND THE SERIES IS REPULSIVE !
    ++
    I do not want to watch a series where the entire idea of the show is how Wealthy , and Powerful People Find a Way To Escape Justice !
    The lead helps them escape the punishment for their actions, and each story is about how they get away with their crimes.
    ++
    So why do I want to see a show where criminals are cheered ?

    I love Kerry Washington. But she isn’t going to make me watch the show.

    In my opinion, CW needs to pick up some black comedies and get back on track.

    J,
    That logic is flawed. GLEE’s rating (2.4) are the people who tuned in BLIND to watch Thursdays episode.

    If the performances were bad — the viewers had to WATCH the show to see that… so the ratings have reflected that viewership. Now if NEXT week dropped horribly you could blame this week’s episode perhaps, but “Last night’s show sucked! That’s why ratings were bad!” makes no sense for any show. It’s a premiere episode none of the Nielsen families have seen yet — the quality of the individual episode couldn’t possibly be to blame as none of the viewers who skipped it could have seen it to know it was “bad” and thus worth skipping.

    The ratings aren’t people voting on an episode. They represent who tuned in…

    Do people really not understand this?

    Echo the SCANDAL comments. I don’t watch the show because it’s poorly written. Kerry Washington is a great actress — that’s not enough for me.

    I watch plenty of shows involving African American actors (when they’re well performed/written/produced) and it makes no difference to me so long as the product is a well done show. I’m gay but I don’t watch every show that features a homosexual character… that doesn’t mean I’m going to automatically enjoy it… and just watching everything on BRAVO as though that somehow “supports” the gay community is extremely short-sighted. Glee has gay characters but that’s certainly not WHY I watch it — for the most part I cringe through each episode. Grey’s Anatomy has gay characters — again — I don’t watch it FOR that reason. It’c nice to see diversity on TV. I champion it — but if a show is poorly written I’m not going to tune in just because a minority character is a lead.

    Put Kerry Washington in a better series with stronger writing and I’d watch in an instant. That’s not what is happening with Scandal…

    Is there a good chance The CW would save Glee if Fox cancelled it?

    @Charmed
    Is there a good chance The CW would save Glee if Fox cancelled it?

    No. There’s not even a remote chance of that happening.

  • RS

    Did the “Scandal” creators think this through. What is their target audience? It turns people off because it’s too liberal? Yet the very premise – if you have enough money you can keep your dirty laundry from the free press and thus the public – quite offended this liberal lady. But then I’m old, and grew up in a time when journalists were the good guys. All I could think of was that if Ms. Pope had been around years ago, Watergate would just be a hotel and our American History books would reference “King Richard I.” That’s my soap-box, but nobody forces me to watch the show, so I have no stake in whether it’s canceled or not.

  • Aiden

    surprised that x factor ratings/viewers remained steady considering the competition. I thought it would be killed once big bang theory started up again.

  • Project Spencer

    Just realized that 2BG Did better than 2 and half men. :)

    Fox should move “Glee” to Mondays after Bones.

  • aciel

    @mayorofsmpleton ur right but ratings reflect how much of the episode viewers seen. it reflects on when they change the channel or turn of the tv while the show is on. the purpose of tv shows is to entertain u for the whole hour. obviously sure viewers tuned in but then got bored and changed the channel.

    @Nick

    Why in the world would ABC move their highest-rated demo drama from its original slot? Yes, Revenge is a good show and performs well, but in its first season did worse than GA did in its eighth.

  • Slam

    @Oliver
    I didn’t need the joke explained to me. I needed someone to explain how that is funny. Or how that is the best way to represent the show if the objective of a promo is to sell a show with its best moments. Was that really as funny as Parks gets?

  • Slam

    @Oliver

    They could put Parks after the Super Bowl with a record-breaking audience and it wouldn’t help. It’s not location, it’s content.

  • Slam

    @Nadine
    It is clear that NBC cannot lead off an hour with Parks. It relies on The Office still and loses audience from The Office during the bottom of its creativity. They pulled Parks off the schedule and wouldn’t put it on in fall 2010 despite the production hustling to produce episodes around Amy Poehler’s pregnancy. The eps sat on the shelf for months.

    You can like your quirky show that thinks it’s funny. But you can’t deny its abysmal failure in winning over even fans of a show from the same producers with the same “pseudo-doc” premise. Good luck to them selling it to a prominent buyer in syndication. Time to end it.

  • Emily

    although 1.4 for up all night and 1.6 for parks and rec are fairly anemic, considering how badly other NBC commedy’s are doing this year, they may actually have a shot of sticking around, which would be a minor mircle

    WOW, “Last Resort” was FAR below what I was expecting. The premise is too depressing and scary in our post 9/11 world, me thinks, especially with so much turmoil still going on for the US in Afghanistan and Pakistan. I realize the aborted sub strike is really just a plot device to set up another “LOST”-type island show, but I think the producers and writers picked a starting plot point that hits too many nerves. Pity. I highly doubt it will retain viewers and will be gone after its initial 13-episode run ;(
