    @eridapo

    Even with this bad competition… Ok but NBC must put something at 10. These numbers are just awful.

  • capslocke

    When will NBC switch Up All Night and Community?

  • LL2

    @Bookworm

    I wish I had your enthusiasm but I’m hanging in there for now.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @omabin

    Smash too.

  • CarShark

    Scandal gets pretty much the same ratings every show. It’s bizarre. Nice to see two entertainment shows getting 5s.

  • Greg

    Wow, Up All Night actually managed to grow. That just means what I said last week, that the show will not get pulled from NBC’s schedule, it just won’t receive a back 9 order.

    Whitney replaces Animal Practice before it even has a shot of airing on Fridays and NBC holds Community until midseason and use it to replace either 30 Rock or UAN. And with The Farm almost certainly getting greenlight, that should fill the NBC Thursday comedy block for the rest of the season.

    At this point, what does NBC do on this night? Perhaps television has changed so much that it can never see big audiences ever again, but it can surely do better than this, I think.

    Part of me says that it should worry about other nights and then trying to slowly repair Thursdays, maybe by having a comedy start out on another night and then moving there. Another part of me says that there’s no time like the present and that the network should try to find an unscripted show for 8:00 and then use that to build up a scripted show at 9:00.

    I’m leaning towards the second, because the process could essentially be ongoing. If it doesn’t find something during the regular season, it could keep trying during the summer.

    @Bookworm

    I pretty much think if Scandal were to be cancelled, that this would be it. There’s virtually no chance that ABC would move the show to another cable network. It just doesn’t happen often.

    Head to Head TBBT 5.0 – 2.8 XF.

    Just love it. BUUUUUUURN!

  • Dr. TV

    Again I SO wish posters had to list their age and IQ. Who ARE you people?

    @Dinaminjo
    1. cancel UAN
    1.1 Office thursday 20.30

    2. cancel AP
    2.1 guys with kids thu 21:00

    3. launch sth new wed 20:00

    For midseason, or for the fall? It’s very difficult to launch a replacement show in the fall unless it’s already established as there’s no time to promote it heavily.

    I wouldn’t be surprised to see Off Their Rockers back at 8p on Wednesday soon and then give a second chance to Animal Practice at 8:30p on Friday after Whitney (replacing Up All Night with Community).

    In other words, just go full burnoff on Thursday and replace the entire mess with The Biggest Loser midseason (bringing The Office/P&R back in March and finishing up Community somewhere else).

    CBS – Had a very solid night as was expected.
    +=
    ABC – Grey’s in its 9th Season is pulling AMAZING numbers, the rest of the night though needs to be replaced.
    ++
    FOX – Not the best ratings, but still respectable. The only huge problem is with GLEE bring in to many new characters at the same time.
    ++
    NBC – I think the need to scrap the entire night , BUT , if they want these shows the should switch THE OFFICE & SATURDAY NIGHT LVE.

  • s0303

    last resort was the best pilot i’ve seen in several years…hope abc at least tries a different time slot before they pull it…

    this should be the last year for 2 1/2 men…losing 1.5 from its lead in is really bad…it’s not much higher than rob was getting, is it? and a lot more expensive to make…

  • omabin

    @Petar Ivanov,

    Yeah I forgot about Smash. They have so many stuff then. I don’t understand how this works. Do they need to programme 3 hours on Sunday starting in January or are they just expecting to have that many failures?

  • Dinaminjo

    Last Resort would go good:
    ** wednesday 20:00 instead of middle 2.9 & guys with kids 1.6
    - if middle can almost go 3.0 I don’t see why LR can’t
    - no drama competition, comedy low competition, basicly only against realities (and you can’t win those)
    - middle goes tuesday instead of dtb23 against Mindy and TNN
    - dtb23 friday with neighbors cancelled

    or

    ** tuesday 22:00 instead of Private practice 1.9
    - making thursday “estrogen night” with PP, Grey, Scandal
    - possible fatigue coused by 3 shows, too much gossip for the next day

  • TVDude

    I still don’t get why, given today’s technology, tracking rating info isn’t more accurate. You would think they could take it beyond major cities and track each and every TV. Although people would call that spying :/. Still, this would take away so many arguments.

    Regardless, NBC would still look horrible. They really do need to mix Thursday up at midseason.

    @omabin,

    Most fantasy schedules are the dominant schedule. While The Voice probably won’t be on TV for January, that’s only a few weeks. Most of the spring season will be taken up with The Voice on Monday and Tuesday nights. Also, don’t forget about repeats and Off Their Rockers to fill in some gaps. They might even repeat old episodes of The Voice.

    TvMoJoe twitted
    “Fun fact: LAST RESORT did better on men 25-54 than Grey’s and tied in men 18-34. ABC needs more men. This show brought some.”

    Does ABC need more men? If LR holds, will this male advantage get it the back 9.

  • The End

    @s0303

    I like 10 seasons. It’s a nice round number and would be happy with that.

  • omabin

    @Greg,

    I don’t know why so many people want that Office spnif-off. I am sure it will not do better than the office, and the office is currently pulling 2.1 and it’s only second week. The farm would average something like a 1.8/1.7 in its first season, which would be awful for a comedy. Why even bother? I think NBC needs to get far away from that (Go On is the right direction), not keep insisting on that…

  • Ultima

    @jt
    New girl fox’s highest rated scripted show by a lot.

    Until Sunday, when The Simpsons and Family Guy get 4s.

    the post superbowl again in 2014 instead of new girl.

    I wouldn’t be surprised to see FOX premiere The Flintstones after the Super Bowl next season.
