SNL RETURNS OCTOBER 6 WITH HOST DANIEL CRAIG AND MUSICAL GUEST MUSE

New York, NY - October 1, 2012 - SNL returns with three back to back shows, starting October 6 with host Daniel Craig and musical guest Muse.

Christina Applegate returns as host on October 13. Applegate currently stars in NBC's comedy "Up All Night" alongside Maya Rudolph and Will Arnett.

Passion Pit will make their musical guest debut. The critically acclaimed group released their sophomore album, "Gossamer," to rave reviews with the album debuting at number four and their singles topping the Billboard Alternative charts.

On October 20, multi-platinum singer/songwriter/producer Bruno Mars will pull double duty as host and musical guest. The Grammy Award-winning singer will release his second album, “Unorthodox Jukebox," on December 11 and the first single “Locked Out Of Heaven” on October 1.

"Saturday Night Live" is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.

    Wow

Kinda curious about Daniel Craig. We haven’t seen his light side before. Applegate should be fine the next week. As for the 20th, I’ll just tune in for the music.

  • Kyle R

I’m digging the first two episodes. Love Passion Pit!

Friday October 5, 2012 is the 50th anniversay of Dr. No (1962) being released to the theaters, [although there was a tv show, (Climax! on CBS), that aired a verision of Casino Royale with Barry Nelson as a American Jimmy Bond and Peter Lorre as the villian-available on DVD). Daniel Craig being on Saturday Night Live on Saturday is timed to for the anniversary weekend. Perhaps since he was at the Olympics with Queen Elizabeth, he might want to say something about NBC showing Animal Practice from 10 to 11, after the closing cermonies and showing The Who concert from 11:30 to 12:30, after the local news. Something even Bob Costas said was wrong on Conan O’Brian.

The CBS Climax episode featuring Casino Royale with Barry Nelson and Peter Lorre aired on October 21, 1954.

  • Ricky

I’m glad they’re bringing in Daniel Craig and Muse, and Passion Pit sounds awesome…but Christina Applegate? Bruno Mars? As Seth Meyers would say, “REALLY?!”

  • Nick

NBC really trying to save Up All Night it seems. The really seem to like that show.

  • Ricky

@Nick: Because Lorne Michaels produces it. Otherwise I see no real justification for keeping it around. It’s not even a good show. The talent (and comedy) is sorely lacking, especially compared to Lorne’s OTHER pet project, 30 Rock.

  • Oliver

I wonder if it’s the other way around and this is a move by Lorne Michaels to ensure NBC do nothing with UAN.
