Okay, I’m confused about the Stafford Act. I heard it explain last night and I thought it meant that the locals had to pay 10% of all fed. aid that came in. If the Government authorized 100 dollars the feds. would pay 90 and the locals would pay 10.
I thought you had to waive the Stafford Act. to get the feds. to pay the whole nut. Am I wrong?
I read the Stafford Act and could not find the 10% provision. A charming picture of Mr. Stafford back in the day tells me the Stafford Act has been around for awhile.

Okay, I’m confused about the Stafford Act.
It doesnt matter what the act says or doesnt say. Obama says and does what he wants to right, wrong, legal, illegal, it doesnt matter to him. and he KNOWS he has the MSM out there protecting him!
@d.d. Good Morning and great post on the Journolist Exposed: Documents
On Morning Joe Bob Woodward shocked the panel by telling them via his interviews with Pres Obama that ‘Obama Is Proposing Cutting Medicare’ not Romney as reported. Their faces went pure white
@ Coffee Steve
I think the Obama campaign is just going to lie and spin and dance more and more to confuse everyone so they dont know what is right wrong or indifferent hoping they will just vote to keep him there because of fear and confusion
And again where are the questions to his lie in that video. If little ole me can look it up why can’t any reporters?
Another question, if the recession ended in June 09 then why is Joe stating the middle class has been buried the last 4 years?
what is it Mr. Vice President? The economy is better or we are buried. Oh, Joe say it ain’t so.
Now, Paul Ryan has a video and they are running with it. I agree with him there are people happy with a welfare state. I lived for years in an apartment complex where my hubby was one of the only ones out the door at 6am while the rest got up at noon to light up a fatty and play Nintendo all afternoon. They were perfectly content with just existing and not striving for more. Liberals need to acknowledge that there are those willing to be on the dole. Not 47% but there is a percentage taking advantage and taking away from those truly in need.
Off to work! Have a great day!

Then Senator Obama described the Stafford Act that way in his speech. He talked about New Orleans having to pay 1 dollar of every 10 spent. He said New York(9/11) and Florida(hurricane Andrew) did not. Did he just make that up?
@Ratboy

They may try Rats, but remember all those who really are in the middle use the internet and will search for the truth. The campaigns know this, if your For Romney or For Obama, the video will not make any difference, but if your in the middle? This video will make them think and question why he wasn’t vetted 4 years ago as all of them used to be.
@S. Papa
Did he just make that up?
Yes he did. The act was wavied for New Orleans as well by then President Bush, in fact President Bush wavied many other regulations to speed up the process but the officials in NO screwed much up. Bush did not act fast enough, but after time he really got the ball rolling.
Not to mention Bush had congress approve a massive package for New orleans as well.
PS: @ S, Papa
Where is the MSM now? New orleans after 4 years under President Obama has many areas that are still destroyed, nevre rebuilt as well. But bet ya nothing will be covered on that even though the Hurricane damage and after effects are back in the news.
@ Coffee Steve
As important as the debate is the only thing you will hear tomorrow is “gaff talk” The media will focus on the trivial crap and stay as far away from the issues as possible. Then talk radio and FOX and the conservitive bloggers will be accused of “desperation” when they talk about issues.
We are so broken it is beyond my comprehension!
@Ratboy

Take heart my friend. In Broadcasting and news, you learn something very quickly. Forget all polling, forget all the coverage from the months before, it’s October that decides the election. The Election starts with the first debate.
Everyone saddle up and gear up, the next 30 days will see wild accusations that the media won’t have time to check out, rumors, distortions and people just throwing everything they have out there.
The Polls from this point on will close, and only in the last week will the 100% true nature of the election take hold. In 2004 And 2008 ONLY Rasmussen was close, and even he was off some.
And Rats? What it boils down too, is the press can’t pull the lever of fill the circle for us, when people go into the booth, they will vote depending on how thick their wallet or purse is. Always have, always will.
Let the Games BEGIN!!!!
BTW..
Rick Sanchez now works part time for Fox News
and PS: on above post
This was not Romney’s October surprise against Pres Obama, another one is coming, and when a surprise is released the camps won’t release it on cable news anyway, you’ll see it released on ABC, NBC or CBS. They go for the BIG effect
It is so out of control!!
On Wednesday, Stephanopoulos calmly opened the show my noting, “And just hours before the first debate, the new release of a five-year-old Obama speech.” He wondered, “What’s behind it and will the speech make any difference tonight?” In contrast, on September 18, the host breathlessly trumpeted, “Breaking now, Mitt Romney caught on tape at a private fund-raiser. His candid comments causing shock waves.” Stephanopoulos hyped, “The campaign rushing to contain the damage. Romney responds in a late night press conference.”
I have a question before we finish school?
The Feds bought that prison in Illinois for 155 Million Dollars; it’s the facility they were going to bring all the Gitmo prisoners there. They decided to keep them at Gitmo, now the Feds say they bought the prison anyway. Hmmm. If they aren’t going to transfer the Gitmo guys, why did they buy it?
Dear Mr. Brian Williams, Scott Pelly, and my former neighbor Diane Sawyer, could you PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS??????

it is part of the Obama portfolio, you know! First a little venture capitalism, invest in a couple of car makers, a few energy companies, then when that dont work (print some more money and….) lets try investing in some real estate like a prision……that was never completed…….or opened…..I hear he is thinking about investing in a car rental company featuring only Chevy Volts. the name will be HOTS. If you rent one you get a free fire extinquisher.
Top Five Obama-Biden Tax Hikes Burying the Middle Class
On Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden said the middle class has ‘‘been buried the last four years.’’ Taxpayers agree.
The following are the top five tax increases on the middle class signed into law by the Obama-Biden administration:

It is odd that no one is asking this of the WH. maybe they will at the presser today, but Carney will just say something like, ask the department that bought it LOL
Tonight’s debate is on Domestic Issues and the Economy
If Mitt Romney shows an advanced knowledge on economic issues, it will be a huge night for him. I do know he plans to bring up the fact that not one of Obama’s team has any business experience, and I’ll bet you a stack of White Castles, 99% of the public does not know that fact.
I hope they bring up how he did come in a save the Olympics that were truly about to fold before he took it over.
Even Gallup is closing again now Obama +4
Obama 49
Romney 45

What part do you think Lahrer will play???
I dont think ye will be in the “middle” of the desk if you know what I mean
How do I get a gig like his??
Al Sharpton: Obama Tape Is Not Divisive, But Paul Ryan’s 30% Tape Trashes Americans
MSNBC host Al Sharpton appeared on MSNBC to weigh in on dueling tapes of presidential and vice presidential candidates dominating the headlines on Wednesday. The first, a tape of President Barack Obama as a candidate in 2007 speaking at Hamilton University where he hammers the federal governments’ response to Hurricane Katrina and alleges that this response was a symptom of the government having already surrendered New Orleans to poverty and racial discrimination. The second tape, released by the Huffington Post features GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan saying that polls show that 70 percent of Americans still prefer a conservative vision for the country while 30 percent favor a “welfare state.”
Sharpton thought the tape of Obama was old news and showed that he is in good shape if this is “all they’ve got.” Pivoting to Ryan’s tape, Sharpton thought that this was a defining moment for the electorate and showed that Mitt Romney’s campaign is too quick to write off a major portion of the population as “moochers.”
