
In the third quarter of 2012, FNC's The O'Reilly Factor was the number one cable news program among Total Viewers (2.83 million) for the fiftieth consecutive quarter.
FNC ranked number 3 in Total Viewers among all of Basic Cable, behind USA and TNT. Its main rivals, MSNBC and CNN ranked 19th and 32nd.
The channel also scored the top 5 programs in cable news in Total Viewers: The O’Reilly Factor (2,831,000); Hannity (2,350,000); Special Report w/ Bret Baier (1,960,000); The Five (1,860,000); and On the Record(1,828,000). It also had the top 5 cable news programs among adults 25-54: The O’Reilly Factor (551,000); Hannity (487,000); The Five (397,000); Special Report w/ Bret Baier (394,000); and FOX Report w/ Shepard Smith (378,000).
Overall, FNC has 12 of the top 15 cable news programs among Adults 25-54.Outside of primetime, several programs posted substantial ratings increases.

- o Happening Now (11am-1pm), co-anchored by Jon Scott and Jenna Lee, up 17% in 25-54
- o America’s Newsroom (9-11am), co-anchored by Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum, averaged 11% in 25-54
- o Studio B with Shepard Smith – up 10% in 25-54
