via press note:

For the 2nd week in a row, ABC led the pack on Monday with DWTS: All-Stars and Castle, drawing 5% more viewers than NBC (The Voice/Revolution), 49% more viewers than CBS (HIMYM/Partners/2 Broke Girls/Mike & Molly/Hawaii Five-0) and 123% more viewers than Fox (Bones/The Mob Doctor) In addition, ABC outdelivered Fox’s Monday prime in Adults 18-49 for the 2nd straight week, leading by 25%.

Building its audience from its first hour to its second hour against strong competition, Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars ran in a virtual-tie for the lead in its time slot. In addition, the ABC unscripted series beat out Fox’s dramas in the 2-hour time period by 25% in Adults 18-49.

Standing as Monday’s most-watched drama for the 2nd week running, ABC’s Castle led the 10 o’clock hour by increasing margins week to week, topping NBC’s Revolution by 1.9 million viewers and CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 by 2.6 million viewers. Additionally, the ABC drama finished as the #2 series in the hour with both Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

Great news. Other sites reported lesser results which had me so sad. Castle is such an amazing show, and I would be so very very disappointed if now that the lead characters are a couple, viewership declined. They are the cutest thing ever and the show last night was so perfect! Sexy, complicated and fun. What more could you want? And Beckett jealous is so dang fun!!!

    so what, ABC? So what?

I like Castle, but it’s gonna be a tough year.

You have to view both Dancing With the Stars and Castle as on-the-bubble with these disappointing ratings in the demographic. But I think DWTS would drop to a once-a-year show before it is cancelled altogether. Castle may simply be hitting that point in its aging where it has already seen the highest heights.

Castle’s ratings have remained stable since last November. The mistake people are making is looking at the numbers in September of last year when its first two episodes were near 3s. By the 5th episode of last year and through the remaining run it stayed between a 2.0 and 2.2. With most times at 2.1 and there were a couple of 1.9s.

The shows ratings are stable and steady.

The problem for ABC is the complete collapse of DWTS. DWTS takes 3 hours of programming and if it continues to decline, ABC might just cut the number of hours devoted to the show. Thus opening more holes in the ABC schedule which it needs to plug.

Its unfortunate that quality shows are only considered valuable based on ratings and not on the superb writing/acting. Castle is one of the best scripted series on TV. The Castle Fandom is second to none across all networks. I trust Andrew Marlowe to secure the Castle reign in ratings with quality writing and staffing of ABC’s leading Monday night Drama. Make Castle two hours and dump a hour of DWTS. I never watch the show an only tune in when it is Castle time.

What Lea said (all of it).

I must be reading the ratings wrong!! some comments seem to suggest the Castle ratings are not so good!! To me it seems that they are the highest rated drama at 10 on any of the stations! It is one of the best written and acted shows on tv. So what are you talking about.? It seems to be one of the highest rated shows on..and rightly so in my opinion!

Castle is the best show in TV i don´t understand ABC they don´t trust enough in Castle and they gave a great rating last year, Castle fandon are very loyal to the show. love Castle and i think they deserve all the awards

I have watched CASTLE from the get go and it has only gotten better with eash year,I am here for the long run. They have great writers and actors who create their vision.Loyal to the whole team.

IN MY OPINION, the success of the show cannot be based only in the ratings. Castle is one of the most watched shows at 10 pm, at any day. I know, a lot of people will say: “It doesn’t matter, the important is the adults 18-49″. But, out of all of this, all I can see is a show with a loyal fanbase that buys it’s products, like books, dvd and has other products with the brand Castle. So…we must analize this a little deeper and see the whole picture, not only rating. After all, we all know, or should know, that adults between 18-49 is NOT the only number that matters.

“I trust Andrew Marlowe to secure the Castle reign in ratings with quality writing and staffing of ABC’s leading Monday night Drama”

LOL, it’s not exactly hard to be ABC’s leading Monday night drama when it’s ABC’s only Monday night drama is it?

Castle is my all-time favorite show!

I did not like Castle in season 1 or 2, I begin to like by the end of season 3, when the two of them finally get together. Usually, when the duos finally sleep together, the show goes down – remember Bruce Willis and Cybil something in that detective show during the 80s?? – but I think the writers are working it out by keeping the tension and jokes with the hiding of the affair. The chemistry between the two actors also improved through the years – they are more relaxed and into character. As to the ratings, they are great! – considering the competition and the time slot – way to go!

Castle is great!as long as ABC is happy with it’s rating,I ain’t complaining!
