GALAVISIÓN CONTINUES ITS RUN AS NO. 1 SPANISH-LANGUAGE CABLE NETWORK


MIAMI, FL – OCTOBER 2, 2012 – Galavisión, the leading Spanish-language cable network, finished the third quarter of 2012 and the 2011/2012 season on a high note as the undisputed leader in delivering key demographic audiences.

For the third quarter of 2012, Galavisión delivered 17% more Total Viewers 2+ than its nearest competitor Discovery en Español, 35% more Total Viewers 2+ than its second nearest competitor mun2, and 404% more than Tr3?s (MTV). Additionally, the Spanish-language network delivered 3% more Adult 18-49 viewers than Discovery en Español, 35% more Adults 18-49 than its second nearest competitor mun2 and 640% more Adults 18-49 than Tr3?s.

 

Boosting Galavisión’s ratings is beloved content that continues to attract viewers year after year. The third quarter of 2012 saw the return of the hit comedy series, “Los Heroes del Norte” (Heroes of the North) on Sundays at 10 p.m. which premiere-to-date this season ranks as the No. 3 program in Sunday primetime among Hispanic Adults 18-49 in all of cable, regardless of language.

 

Galavisión’s tradition of hard-hitting news live from Mexico also boosted the cable network’s ratings performance. In the third quarter of 2012, Galavisión’s “Primero Noticias” (First News) time period shift from Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. saw double digit growth delivering +41% more Total Viewers 2+ and +36% more Adults 18-49.

 

Also making an impact in primetime was the awe-inspiring series “La Rosa de Guadalupe” (The Rose of Guadalupe) airing Monday through Friday at 10 p.m. which improved upon its historical time period performance by delivering +63% more Total Viewers 2+ and +49% more Adult 18-49 viewers.

 

Galavisión also saw success with the comedy series “Vecinos” (Neighbors) which improved upon the Monday through Friday 9 p.m. time period by delivering +18% more Adults 18-49. Additionally, the Saturday back to back broadcasts of “Vecinos” from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. elevated Galavisión on the weekends with a +58% increase of Total Viewers 2+ and a +83% increase of Adults 18-49.

For the 2011/2012 season, Galavisión delivered more Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49 than competing Spanish-language cable networks in primetime. The Spanish-language cable network delivered 48% more Total Viewers 2+ than its nearest competitor Discovery en Español, 60% more Total Viewers 2+ than its second nearest competitor mun2, and 508% more than Tr3?s. Additionally, in primetime for the 2011/2012 season, Galavisión delivered 33% more Adults 18-49 than its nearest competitor Discovery en Español, 59% more Adults 18-49 than its second nearest competitor mun2, and 667% more Adults 18-49 than Tr3?s.

 

In Total Day (Monday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.) for the 2011/2012 season, Galavisión delivered:

  • · 113% more Total Viewers 2+ than its nearest competitor mun2, 118% more Total Viewers 2+ than its second nearest competitor Discovery en Español, and 405% more Total Viewers 2+ than Tr3?s.
  • · 94% more Adults 18-49 than its nearest competitor Discovery en Español, 106% more Adults 18-49 than its second nearest competitor mun2, and 540% more Adults 18-49 than Tr3?s.
