Honestly, there ARE no good or strong shows on Mondays at 10pm. All three networks have dropped the ball there, but Castle has been by far the most entitled show–ABC has given it too many chances, and pissed away the DWTS lead-in–too late to undo that mistake, but not too late to try and save the night by moving Castle elsewhere–where it will quite certainly fall to cancellation levels. It will do that on Monday within a year or less, but why wait?

I like castle infact i started to watch revolution on my dvr last night and i was so bored after 10 mins i switched to castle

IMHO is incredible how bad are doing (rating-wise speaking):DWTS,Bones,H5-0 and Castle. Also the new shows are doing really bad:Partners and The Mob doctor.

Glad HF0 went up but I’m still worried for the show. I like the plump Monday slot that it has but at this point I’d rather it last a season or two more on a different night rather than cancellation.

I think HF0 and Castle are hurting a lot because of the arrival of Revolution. Both shows virtually had no competition from NBC for two seasons and they both managed to rule Mondays as well as maintaining pretty good ratings for their respective networks.

I don’t think it’s clear “TBBT” would have pulled massive ratings wherever it went. CBS took a risk by putting it there, and it definitely paid off, but it was never a sure thing.

I don’t think they’d move “TBBT” back to Mondays, simply because Thursday is a more high profile night. Mondays are down for CBS, but they aren’t THAT bad. If the concern is providing a comedy block with a greater lead-in, perhaps they need to do little more than move “NCIS:LA” to 8:00 PM on Mondays for at least one season.

I’m still puzzled why CBS didn’t order more comedies. Was their development really that bad? Had at least one worked at least well as “Mike” or “2BG” did in the past few seasons, it wouldn’t have put them in such a tough spot. The worst that would have happened was that a lot of them failed at once, but repeats of “TBBT” could have been used to fill the void.

As for “TV” and NBC, I don’t really watch these shows, but they are surely padded. You aren’t taking much if anything away from the quality of them to cut them down a bit, and while your argument about numbers is more right than wrong, again, it’s a question of planning for the future. Would NBC be wise to develop scripted programming? No doubt about it. CBS is vulnerable on Mondays, so putting at least one comedy there for NBC could be a wise move.

Fair enough in regards to “TNN.” That was just one suggestion. I’d actually rather than try for a new show or give something like “UAN” or “Community” a shot.

I’m really curious to see what NBC does with the Michael J. Fox show it ordered for next season. It has a guaranteed 22 episodes. There was an intense bidding war for the show, so I can’t think NBC will treat the fact that it won lightly. My guess is that it will go on Thursdays at 9:00–if NBC has something to support the show at 8:00.

What that might be is an open question. My personal suggestion is for them to bring back an old syndicated game show called “Supermarket Sweep.” It’s completely fun and has to be dirt cheap to produce, before we get into any sort of in-show advertising. Everyone I’ve mentioned this to loves the idea.

No chance H50 gets canceled this season at anything close to its current ratings levels. It’s *already* got a syndication deal. As for “how low can it go?” look at The Good Wife, with no syndication deal. It would have to fall *below* TGW to be in danger.

I wonder if Fox doesn’t pull The Mob Doctor if it will be at or below the return of Gossip Girl…

Castle should move to Tuesday at 10/9c replacing Private Practice or on Friday at 9/8c.

  • Ben

Fox airs nothing at 10 pm on any night of the week. Good for NBC, CBS, and ABC that they still air programs for 3 hours 8 to 11 PM, Monday through Sunday, (although Saturday’s shows are mostly burn offs from the networks).

    L.A. Complex!

How does castle get over 10 million viewers but yet still get a 1.9 in the demo?

  • AlexFan

When a new show comes on people naturally will check it out. H50 small increase in demo with poor lead in, and by that I mean a different audience from Mike and Molly. Seems like from what I just read last week Vegas did wonderful on Tuesday with lead in from the 2 NCIS shows but this week the audience numbers are up but the much coveted demo was almost identical as H50. Don’t give up on H50 yet, last week 44% increase in Live +3. Castle did great last week, little slide this week but numbers remain stable but DWTS is starting to be a poor lead in. I think the true fans of H50 and Castle won’t change and the numbers will stay the same or move up some. Unless CBS moves NCIS to Monday at 10 or ABC moves Modern Family to Monday at 10, doesn’t seem like there is any show that will do any better, just my opinion

  • bluejays

Crikey but NBC is killing ABC and CBS. CBS were dumb as bleep to move Men to Thursday they have killed their Monday nights. THose numbers are truly horrible. And they’ve killed shows with syndication (,mike and Molly and HFO) to save a show without it – POI. Idiots!

  • GoHawaiiFive0

Go Hawaii Five-0!! Hawaii is pulling for you. We all love that show and all of the characters. Tropics Bar & Grill at Hilton Hawaiian Village features the show every Monday night at 9pm with special drinks. Last week there were even t-shirt giveaways and other prizes.
