I think this is the first time I have not seen an adjustment in the numbers for Castle…. As a matter of fact, the total viewers went up from 10.33 to 10.35.

    LOL Castle!

  • Joseph A

    Great numbers for CBS.
Great numbers for NBC , BUT , I expect Revolution to fall off another .2 next week.
For what CBS is on Sunday , FOX, and ABC are on Monday ,, nothing stellar , but in the case of FOX they need to replace The Mob Doctor , STAT !

  • Ben Thompson

Not bad for NBC but they need Revolution to stabalize fast and hope that The Voice does not start dropping hard now that the auditions are over.

Will ABC even air a spring cycle of DWTS anymore? Just horrible numbers, that will go below a 2.0 in the coming weeks.

Partners needs to go fast. It’s bringing the whole line-up down. Insert ROE or BBT repeats instead, would do much better.

I think Castle could be ok. Its so early on in the TV year that it is hard to tell at this time. But Body of Proof premiered to the same demo as Castle last Sept and dropped to a 1.8 in its seasond week. Castle did the same (but to a 1.9). BoP got renewed for a 13 episode season 3, Castle, if they can keep up around a 1.9/2.1 for the rest of the season then a shortened season 6 could be on the cards. But im not gonna get my hopes up. I hope they show can rebound somehow in the next few weeks, or at least get back up above a 2.0 for the next few weeks.

Also, I am worried for the show in Jan/Feb/Mar without the DWTS lead in that the show will hit more series lows and could drop to levels that scream cancelation.

    @Peter Ivanov

Per TVBTN, it is network spin.

TVBTN is right, but it is also true that the American Population continues to age. The population is getting older on average with the median age of a tv watcher going up about as much as 8 years in the last two decades.

If you are a network, you see that the median age of your viewers continues to go up each year. If in the 90s, the age was 42. Today that age is 50, so naturally you want to emphasize that this older demo is becoming the new norm.

The problem is that so far the people who buy ad space on networks aren’t buying the network spin. Until they do, 18-49 will be king.

The Revolution will continue to be televised so some people can stop ragging on it. Ironic how Castle is dead last but yet gets the most viewers.

  • Brandy

Glad 2 broke Girls adjusted up.

  • Brandon

I’m a little sad about Castle, but if it gets cancelled after this season then that’s just how it goes. 5 seasons isn’t a bad run at all (I secretly think no show should go beyond 5-6 seasons anyway).

The one that boggles my mind is Two Broke Girls. I do not understand how this show gets the ratings it does. There is nothing about it that is funny. At all. I tried watching 6 episodes to give it a shot. Not one laugh. Not even a chuckle. I’m starting to think it has a lot more to do with Ms. Dennings’ “assets”, so to speak, than the writing.

I don’t know if it would have skewed the ratings too much, but CBS’ Dayton station preempted HIMYM until 1:37 AM. They decided to air a special on the space shuttle trainer that the Air Force museum is getting.

  • Michael

    Solid start for the CW!

Good luck to the Hart Of Dixie fans tonight.

“I don’t know if it would have skewed the ratings too much, but CBS’ Dayton station preempted HIMYM until 1:37 AM. They decided to air a special on the space shuttle trainer that the Air Force museum is getting.”

Those things do matter, but in a small metro area like Dayton the change would be unlikely to move the rounded ratings number unless it was right on the rounding point before.

What is wrong with people!? Partners is so funny!!!

  • Max

Calling it now by the time the lives start, The Voice will continue to rise.

  • CrimTV

It would be great now that NBC has come out with rises while all other networks have been dropping, if CW returned up from last year. The networks at the bottom rise, the ones at the top drop!

You are wrong. The fact that DWTS tank, and Castle still had over 10M viewers and a demo that is only off by 2/10s from its spring average bodes well for Castle.

ABC’s most immediate problem right now is DWTS. It is more important than PP, Scandal, 666 Park, Last Resort, or Castle. DWTS was the bread and butter of ABC, and it has finally shown its age.

If anything ABC will concentrate on fixing this show which occupies 3 to 4 hours of programming. Change the format, change the judges, hold it to a cycle are all in play….. If DWTS continues to falter, ABC will need shows like Castle to keep the dam from bursting.

While H50’s ratings haven’t been very good the last two weeks, I still think it will be renewed because it’s in it’s 3rd season and Season 3 shows always make it to Season 4 for syndication purposes. I am certain that either USA or TNT will pick up H50

  • omabin

I agree with this statement. I think DWTS is a far more pressing issue for ABC than the borderline ratings of all of its 10pm dramas combined. Especially seeing how they are doing quite well in the 9pm hour on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday (Tuesday I dont believe so but that day has been problematic for them forever). They need to turn things around, most likely reducing DWTS do one cycle, which will make drama renewals harder to predict.

  • Mike

yea for Hawaii five 0…. hopefully itll rise again next week… and i hope revolution stays solid next week.. also hope for the fans of castle they at least get a final season..

Dancing with the star is dead…

also i hope bones will get a final season and ill start watching it

  • KJ Styles

@Brandon- That’s your opinion but I completely disagree. 2BG is hilarious and is my 3rd fav comedy on TV behind only TBBT and Modern Family.

And while Kat Dennings is very attractive and has nice “assets”, she’s also a great actress hence the show’s success.
