    @RJ Styles

    your certain USA or tnt will pick it up if it gets canceled or purchace the rights for syndication? if your saying for syndication then they already sold syndication deals to TNT for something around 4 million an episode.

    if your saying selling it to them if it gets canceled i was also thing TNT would pick it up because it would be a perfect fit or FX and they’d make the show more grittier… or usa network would also be a good fit with burn notice

  • Adrian

    CW did ok. This year 0.7 will be a hit, 0.6 will be great, 0.5-0.4 will be ok, and 0.3-0.2 will mean cancellation. Poor CW. Even cable shows could do better.

  • eridapo

    @Omabin,

    Tuesday has the same problem as monday, DWTS.

    Scandal, 666 Park, and all benefit from shows with lead ins in the 3s or 4s.

    Fixing DWTS is a must because if you don’t, you will have 3 to 4 big holes in your schedule in addition to what you have now.

    I’m betting this will the only thing ABC will focus on all this fall, and now there is a chance all 10PM show will be renewed as long as they stay above a 1.7 or above…..

  • Chris

    eridapo–you’re wrong–Castle is way below where it was at this point last season. As DWTS continues to fall, Castle will stay below it–and a little over 10mil viewers means NOTHING with that demo. You’d need to almost double that for it to mean anything.

    I mean its competition is the faltering H50, and a show about people who fight with swords and muskets–in the 21st century.

    Castle should be moved. Give that timeslot to a new show at midseason–it’ll do better. No matter what kind of crap it is. Can’t be worse than Castle. Nothing ever has been. :)

  • Jon

    It’s hard to see a quality show like Castle getting aced out by Revolution. I suspect that as time goes on, and the Voice goes into other parts of their show, the Revolution honeymoon will wear off.

  • Brandon

    @KJ Styles

    I like Kat Dennings just fine as an actress.

    But I require a sit-com to be funny, and that requires good writing. 2BG doesn’t fit the bill.

    BUT, I’m glad it’s on where it is. It lets me take an hour between How I Met Your Mother and Revolution/Castle so I can do something other than watch TV.

  • Grey

    Man, I wish the number of viewers actually mattered instead of the stupid demo BS.

  • rob60990

    The chance of a new show doing better than Castle with a lead-in barely pulling over a 2 is very unlikely. Castle should have moved 2 years ago.

  • Chris

    Castle had a 3.1 in the demo for the second episode of last season, and over 11mil viewers.

    And it went below 2.0 many times before the season was out.

    I’m guessing we’ll see demos at 1.5 or lower before this season is out.

  • eridapo

    Chris…

    In the morning, I posted that Castle’s Fall 2011 numbers were 2.5. These numbers were skewed by big demo numbers for the first three episodes. However by the 8 episode of last season the number were in the 2.3 range. From episodes 9 till the Spring Finale the average rating was 2.14 and 10.25M viewers…. The average rating for the lead in (The Bachelor and DWTS was 2.7 and 11.4 Million viewers.

    Whatever you might say about Revolution, Revolution is winning the timeslot against Castle and H50. Even if the show sucks for you, the benefit it receives from the Voice will allow it to trounce anything put against it at least in the first half hour. Even if it loses 50% of the demo audience, Revolution will give you a 2.5.

    You can knock H50, but the show last season was still averaging a 2.5 in the spring and above a 3 in the fall…..

    From a strategy perspective what ABC show currently on the air can compete at that hour. PP barely gets a 1.8 and 6.5M viewers, and it is up against Vegas and Parenthood. Both shows are not as strong as H50 or Revolution. Wednesday night is tbd given that Chicago Fire and Nashville have yet to premiere. CSI still somewhat strong, but a 2.5 against zero competition should be a cause for alarm. On Thursday Scandal got a 2.1, but it lost 2 full points from Greys. It was also up against one other show, Elementary. On Sunday 666 Park could not hold onto Revenges 3.2 lead in.

    Castle might be weak, but it is not as weak as other ABC shows. It has a better chance at outrunning the cancellation bear….

  • JAA

    when all 10 pm shows on ABC is doing pretty much the same ratings is ridiculous to say there’s nothing worse than Castle don’t you think. Take 666 Park Avenue, it premiered with 2.2 ratings. it can only go down from here.

  • rob60990

    Castle never fell below a 2 last year. Are we making stuff up?

  • JR

    ABC is more likely to cut DWTS to one season per year, rather than the two, before canning it totally.

  • Chris

    You’re really scared, aren’t you, guys? Over a TV show that never got good ratings getting terrible ratings. It’s below 2.0 now–and it’s not anywhere near done falling. :D

    Thanks for posting the #’s, eridapo, but all you’re doing is arguing for my side. If Castle fell from a 3.1 to a 2.0 in one season, how’s it going to do when it’s already at 1.9 by the second ep of this season–with its strongest lead-in.

    Why do you take this crap so personally? Why can’t I just say a show I really despise is getting horrible ratings–I’m not even saying ABC should cancel it. Yet. Plenty of other folks are saying that. ABC should simply move Castle to a less desirable night–Friday would be ideal for the older audience it’s getting, most of whom aren’t going out Friday nights–and see if it can manage even Fringe or Chuck ratings. If not–bu-bye. Bu-bye! (til next week).

    :D

  • a p garcia

    In my opinion ABC did a negative # on DWTS by running 2 cycles per TV viewing season and The Voice isn’t far behind.Partners & TMD are history and bear food just their replacement aren’t ready yet. Lets hope “The Suits” at NBC don’t don’t throw their weight and show JJ Abrams how to increase ratings of The Event I mean Revolution.

  • Grey

    @rob60990

    “Castle never fell below a 2 last year. Are we making stuff up?”

    No. It never fell lower than 2.00 when it was a new episode against new competetion. It fell below that when it was a repeat against other show’s repeats, etc. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking of.

  • eridapo

    @rob60990

    Chris is…. I just posted the final number per TVBTN data for each week.

    Even when Castle had the disastrous lead in “You Deserve it”, Castle still manage a 2.0.

    To me 1.9 is the bottom for Castle, and it will not go below this number.

    The only other time the show hit 1.9 was 12/6/2010 when it was preceded by a MF rerun episode that score a 3.343 and 1.0 demo…

  • silvit

    @Chris

    ABC has better options on Friday. :D Its news/magazine shows get respectable ratings while being cheap.
