    Man, I wish the number of viewers actually mattered instead of the stupid demo BS

    It’s not like networks would stop cancelling shows.

    Also, total viewers (or Adults 25-54) doesn’t really change the ordering of shows within a particular subset (sitcoms, dramas, reality) in any meaningful way except for a few outliers (e.g. Harry’s Law).

    I know you want to believe that the grass would be greener, but it would probably look pretty much the same and you’d have to find something else to rage against.

    H50 dont have competition , the only reason revolution is doing decent atm cause it has the voice as a lead in. Look at the lead ins h50 and castle have this season. Compared to last season , if revolution had the crappy lead in`s like h50 and castle it would be pulling 1.6-1.8`s and 6-7m

    @methix

    Fan Excuse Bingo right there!

    Hawaii Five-0 is in it’s 3rd and Castle is in it’s 5th, they shouldn’t need large lead-ins to survive when they should have their own audience. Revenge has aired 3 episodes, it needs a good lead-in so it can take off!

    @CrimTv

    What i am saying is this , h50 did allot better in it`s first season with a strong lead in than revolution is doing , Does that register at all in the point i am trying to make.

  • KJ Styles

    Glad 2 Broke Girls is the highest rated scripted show on Monday nights :)

    @methix

    I agree. I watch all 3 shows, and I agree that if it weren’t for the Voice the results for all 3 shows would be different. H50, Castle, followed by Revolution.

  • Brian J

    That’s simply a phenomenal result for “TV.” Good for NBC.

    Now the network just needs to hope “Revolution” stays above a 3.0 until its fall season. If it does that, NBC needs to run a marathon of the show in order to bring new viewers in.

    And for those who were skeptical of my suggestion that NBC should launch a comedy block on Mondays, I think it’s almost a lock at this point. Well, maybe not a lock, but if the numbers for “TV” hold up, why wouldn’t it do that? It could easily shorten “TV” by a half hour and launch a new comedy here, or even try to do two. CBS is vulnerable and NBC owns the night; why not do it?

    @eridapo

    TVBTN is right, but it is also true that the American Population continues to age. The population is getting older on average with the median age of a tv watcher going up about as much as 8 years in the last two decades.

    If you are a network, you see that the median age of your viewers continues to go up each year. If in the 90s, the age was 42. Today that age is 50, so naturally you want to emphasize that this older demo is becoming the new norm.

    The problem is that so far the people who buy ad space on networks aren’t buying the network spin. Until they do, 18-49 will be king.

    Or, if you ask Bill or Robert, the problem is that that’s all the more reason for 18-49 to be king, since there are so few of them.

    @Albert
    Good for the voice. Number 1 in 18-49 and total viewers

    Only if you exclude cable…

    Monday Night Football crushed it with a 6.8 rating and 16.6 million viewers.

    You’re delusional.

    but if the numbers for “TV” hold up, why wouldn’t it do that?

    Because ABC and FOX are a combined zero for however many times they tried doing it. It sounds like a good idea, but it just ends up taking away the highest rated half hour of the reality show and leaving them with a comedy that underperforms and is quickly canceled.

  • AlexFan

    Just an observation but the competition on Mondays at 10 is really tough. Revolution may be a good show to some but I don’t like it, that being said they have a solid following. I am a #H50 fan from day one and I am not bashing any show. I think on any other night against other competition they all would be solid shows. If H50 and Castle had stronger lead ins the shows numbers would go up greatly. Sports on Mondays also have to factor into the equation. I think we just all need to stay the course support our shows and hope we see positive results. I am just happy there doesn’t seem to be the #H50/Castle war this year, both are good shows.

    I think Partners will be better off on a Friday paired with another comedy. Replace Made in Jersey. Comedies do better than dramas anyway so they could try it. I really like Partners, I hope it survives…

    @Ultima

    PoI is still #1 show. The best scripted show with best actors – Emmy and oscar level(winners or nominated) and oscar award showrunner(wiiner for best sripted) Best crime drama with a lot of humour! But right now buzz is with RVN. Entertaining and great adventure. Although PoI dog get great buzz too. I am happy for both. #3 is 2BG(love actres there). Than Once and from there cable shows(GoT, Walking dead).

  • forg

    If ABC cans DWTS spring cycle, what would they replace it with? Bachelor expanded?

    Now there’s the Petar that I’m used to! ;)

  • Eridapo

    Like I said in an earlier post, NBC should reconsider the Voice going to two cycles given what is happening to DWTS.

    If NBC thinks long term, it could keep the Voice going for as many years Fox has had with Idol. If it is interested in the short term, the Voice could soon (by spring) in trouble. If the Voice goes south, so does the rest of the NBC lineup.

    The Voice is what is bringing the young demo to the Network and letting them now about your other shows.

    ABC most be kicking themselves right now because by relying on DWTS and The Bachelor for two cycles each year, it has destroyed the appeal of both shows….

    Does anyone remember what H50 lead-in was for seasons 1 and 2 , my memory is telling me it was 2.5 men but i could be wrong , All i know is mike and molly needs to be moved to another night and h50 needs a decent lead in so it can complete with the voice, Or all i see is a season of it bleeding out slowly same for castle as well. Both shows deserve better.

    What would they replace Partners with and what would they pair it with on Fridays?

    The much more likely scenario is Partners being replaced by Rules of Engagement (and Friend Me come midseason) and Made in Jersey being replaced by Undercover Boss (and either Golden Boy or Unforgettable come spring).

    All three seasons of Hawaii Five-0 have been after Mike & Molly (they premiered on the same night).

    CBS axed How to Be a Gentleman so quickly last yearso I wonder if that will be the same case for Partners,
