TNT Announces Winter 2012-13 Premiere Dates
Lineup Includes Returning Hits Rizzoli & Isles, Dallas and Leverage;
Launch of New Medical Drama Monday Mornings;
And Fifth Season of Acclaimed Cop Drama Southland

As part of its strategic expansion to year-round original programming, TNT is set to burn brightly this winter with a slate of six original series. The lineup includes the return of three hit dramas, a new season of one of the most acclaimed series on television and the premiere of a brand new medical drama from David E. Kelley and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

Among TNT's winter highlights, hit dramas Rizzoli & Isles and Leverage will return for a run of episodes beginning Nov. 27.

TNT's hot new series Dallas will return for its second season on Jan. 28, followed on Feb. 4 by the debut of Monday Mornings, the new David E. Kelley-Sanjay Gupta medical drama starring Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina and Jamie Bamber.

On Feb. 13, TNT will launch the fifth season of Southland, the acclaimed police drama that puts viewers in the middle of the action on the streets of Los Angeles.

And on Feb. 27, TNT will premiere Boston's Finest (working title), a new unscripted series with unprecedented access to the Boston Police Department, from executive producer Donnie Wahlberg.

When it comes to specials, TNT will showcase some of the music industry's biggest stars in the network's annual presentation of Christmas in Washington on Dec. 21. And TNT will team up with TBS for a live simulcast of the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® on J an. 27.

    Dallas!!! Can’t Wait!

  • SAC

    Can’t wait for Rizzoli and Isles!! Maybe this is why Franklin and Bash was renewed they are going to all year round original programming. Maybe Leverage will be renewed too.

  • Dan S

    Looking forward to Monday Mornings with Ving Rhames. Also anxious for the return of Southland that was axed by NBC. Now can TNT please resurrect Harry’s Law ?

  • Charlie Sheen

    I don’t like the idea of TNT moving Dallas to a crowded night like Mondays even though football would’ve been over by then but still not a good move on their part. They should’ve just left it on Wednesdays.

    I’m glad though that they finally get Southland a partner with Boston’s Finest that’s what Southland has always needed.

  • THE OLD MAN

    Can’t wait for Southland. Now only if TNT would pick up the Good Wife already!

  • Dan

    Leverage ending its season on Christmas or New Years Day? Will it get a sixth?

  • Dan

    @The Old Man – If they pick The Good Wife up for Syndication, CBS would be happy.

  • Julius

    I agree with “Charlie Sheen”. I looked forward to Wednesdays (one of my least favorite days of the week) because of ‘Dallas’. It gave me something to look forward to.

  • John

    Anyone know if Justified already has a season 4 premiere date or has it not been announced yet?

  • RJ

    @Dan,

    That is odd. I wonder if they are planning a two hour finale for both shows spread across two days?

  • Babygate

    Rizzoli and Isles!!! And Leverage! Nice! Something to look forward to during winter hiatus. Now, Ving Rhames as a doctor? I don’t know about that. And Boston Finest sounds like a male version of R&I and a cable version of Blue Bloods. May check it out depending on what the promos look like.

  • Dan

    @RJ – 5 episodes from November 27 would end both shows on December 25. Its likely TNT would take a break on Xmas and air the finales on New Years Day or maybe the week after. I’m surprised Leverage hasn’t gotten a sixth season yet.

  • Richard Steven Hack

    Rizzoli and Isles AND Boston’s Finest? TWO cop shows set in Boston on the same network? Is Boston taking over from New York and LA?

  • Fake Me Out

    Is Leverage moving to Tuesdays or is this release badly worded?

  • Nice. Southland is on a Wednesday. This is good. Less competition and one less show on a crowded Tuesday. :)

    @Richard

    Boston’s Finest is NOT a scripted show. Meaning, most likely it will get the same abysmal ratings of The Great Escape and possibly canceled.

    It just speaks of TNT lack of original ideas and still making cop-related things. Which inevitably will fail now.

    I expect huge drops for all TNT shows. Dallas on Mondays is a suicide.

    @Fake Me Out

    Yes, but only for the winter run. You have to consider that till last year there was The Closer and Leverage was all alone on Sunday.

    Since they have only 2 shows for their winter run, they decided to pair them together in hope to make an original scripted night, like they did last year with The Closer/R&I and the year before with The Closer/Men of a certain Age. Truth to be told, both line-ups underperformed and I expect even worse ratings this year.

    @Babygate

    “And Boston Finest sounds like a male version of R&I and a cable version of Blue Bloods. May check it out depending on what the promos look like.”

    It appears to be a reality/documentary type show:

    “and on Feb. 27, TNT will premiere Boston’s Finest (working title), a new unscripted series “

    @silvit
