Updated: Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Get The NEXT Full Season Order? (Poll)

Update October 8 : The Mindy Project ranked third among those polled, far behind a couple of CBS shows, and Ben & Kate was even further behind, nonetheless...

With today's news that NBC has ordered full seasons of rookie's Revolution, Go On and The New Normal, our "who'll be the first to a full season" poll has come to an end (with very good results I might add), and it's time for another!

Which new Fall broadcast TV show will get the NEXT order for a full season?

For the uninitiated, rookie shows are usually given an order for 13 episodes as an initial commitment, and after a certain level of early success, are typically given an order for an additional 9 episodes to complete a "full" season of 22 episodes (although slight variations from the magic 22 are not uncommon).

These orders typically happen anytime from the start of the broadcast season until about Thanksgiving, but could conceivably go even later than that, for shows that don't premiere next week. The busiest period for these announcements is typically mid to late October.

What's your NEXT guess for this season?

While this poll allows just one answer per person, feel free to expand your choices in the comments.

Tis must be Elementary, me lads.

@Tom – The CW has one show waiting for a slot at midseason: Cult. They also have The Carrie Diaries rolling out, but that’s replacing Gossip Girl. So if any of the new shows bomb (I’m looking at you, Emily Owens) then Cult could easily be the replacement. Or they could air it between cycles of Top Model if all the new shows do decently.

Anyway, I chose Elementary because its premiere ratings were strong. But like everyone else has said, CBS is slow to pick-up the back 9, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Fox with The Mindy Project… however, I’d like to see how it does tonight before making that judgment call. The premiere ratings weren’t exactly great.

Can anyone tell me if a full season pickup this early (2nd Tuesday) has any bearing on predicting a 2nd year?

Also, does anyone trust that if Revolution doesn’t get a 2nd year, that we will get a satisfying conclusion? I.E not a cliffhanger.

I have no such evidence, but that’s because I haven’t looked into it. I would be happy to hear from others who have.

Not at all. In fact, considering recent history it’s highly unlikely.

I went with Vegas. After reading the comments it looks like CBS is a slow poke for ordering a full season. Let’s hope AppleStinx don’t read this thread. ;)

Elementary unless it sees a big drop, which I doubt. Hopeful for Arrow, but have to wait to see how it opens.

  • Temis

    It’s Elementary, my dear Watson.

  • The Original J

Aren’t the Fall CW shows already ordered for 22 episodes? Or has that practice changed for that network?

I don’t think the rookie shows (the ones in the poll) are, what leads you to believe that?

  • THE OLD MAN

I went w/ the majority & chose Elementary, though CBS is CBS

Not Emily Owens, there was a recent interview in EW w/ Mamie Gummer & she stated there are only 12 eps ready.

I’m going for mindy, but it was close for me between that and elementry, but I think fox is really suffering, and they will sooner rather than later want to get a press release out saying how great they are, and mindy is currently they’re best bet, I also think abc wants to do the same, they jsut don’t have any show (yet) to do so with, elementry is the obvious choice being the current ‘hit’ yet cbs is historically slow, and they’re PR department has plenty of high viewer numbers for them to work with

  • Emily

gosh I really hope those voting for the mob doctor were doing so ironically

  • ali

Elementary or Vegas, just because, all the others seem to be more in trouble than safe. (not considering the ones that havent premiere yet)

saw the emily owens’s pilot online and really like it.

    @Emily
HATER! YOUR JUST JEALOUS BECUZ UR SHOWS ALL SUXXXX!!! MOB DOCTOR IS TOO GOOD FOR ALL YOU HATERS…ENJOY UR JERSEY SHORE LOL PEACE :)

  • senor chang

but I think that the next pickup will probably be for either The Mindy Project/Ben and Kate or for Elementary.

I am a huge fan of jamie gertz but couldn’t you find a better suited comedy. The Neighbors was horrible. I mean I will watch anything Jaimie is in, but this was painful.

  • Rob

Where is Fringe on the list?

I want another season and ‘DO NOT’ want to see them go…

You’ll have to wait for the “Which show in its announced final season has the most crazy fans demanding it stay on the air?” poll.

CW doesn’t like cancelling their superhero shows. Arrow will get another season.
