    So a video that’s been on youtube since 2007 and was floated around in the 2008 campaign is bringing the ratings in on Fox News. Kind of desperate. Ohhhhhhh he’s black and talks to black people. Be scared white people! AHHHHHHH! You guys are desperate.

  • TwilightZone

    Mark2 says: “It’s funny that Fox has to air something that was already aired 5 years ago”

    It was? I recall hearing about it as a ranting of pundits arguing over the pre-speech notes provided by the Obama team, not the actual video. Besides if it was actually aired 5 years ago, what’s the harm in using the video to remind those opposed to Obama for a multitude of reasons other than his color why they are opposed to him so that they will be excited once again to get out and vote? Is it that some on here might actually fear themselves the value of such a video and that they themselves are now desparate to make the video go bye-bye? I think so!

  • Keynes

    @Chriscee
    The tape has been publically available online since 2008. As I already pointed out, CNN, NBC News, ABC News, The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, and the Chicago Sun-Times, among others, have already reported on it and linked to the video in their reporting. You really need to break out of your conservative news bubble. I remember this from four years ago – Politico ranked it as the third biggest political blunder of 2008. This is not new – people are just telling you that it is new and you are believing them.

    No, it’s because we’ve already been through this before with the ‘bombshell’ video of Obama Hugging A Professor. It’s just more preaching to the choir, and means absolutely nothing to the voters that will decide this election. The conservative base is absolutely obsessed with ‘vetting’ Obama, as if there’s going to be something in his college records, or old tapes, that is of significance.

    For all of the moderate voters in the country, they don’t need Obama’s history to determine what kind of president he’ll be; They have his, you know, entire first term to make that judgment. For better or worse. Quite frankly, this kind of talk is just embarrassing, since the GOP has been such an amazingly well-oiled political machine for the last 30 years, and seems to just be really going off the rails these days. This is what happens when the lunatics are running the asylum.

  • TwilightZone

    Keynes, there are millions of videos available online, even since 2008 for that matter. You are implying that one would have consciously know to look for ‘Obama 2007 Hampton University’. The fact the video is presented again at this time is no accident. Did Hannity use it for ratings? Absolutely. Is there any harm in that? Absolutely not. I’m happy to be reminded with yet another reason why I don’t like Obama because there are so many reasons. His skin color is not among them. Though I despise Obama’s share the wealth ideals, I was excited to see someone other than an old rich white guy become POTUS, and hoped that he would not do what I feared he would (which he has).

    Oh well, as the guy who tamed lightening said a few hundred years ago “A society which gives up Liberty for a little Security will lose both and deserve neither.” Our founders warned of what would become of this nation, and it has happened.

  • Mark2

    @Chriscee

    The 2007 Obama video aired years ago by both Fox and MSNBC and it’s also been on YouTube for years. In fact Hannity aired clips of the video back in 2008. I’m sure someone like Jon Stewart is going to find the old clip of Hannity showing it back then and the showing it again. The only sad part is that Hannity tricked his followers into believing he had something so explosive that would end Obama’s chance of being re-elected…and you guys fell for it…old news. I feel sorry for you kool-aid drinkers, you get duped by Hannity and Rush every time.

  • TwilightZone

    @Matthew
    “This is what happens when the lunatics are running the asylum.”

    I can’t argue with you there. Both parties are in a mess, and the party leadership tells us who (among two) we can and can’t vote for.

    I am obsessed with the vetting of Obama as I don’t see that any of the media outlets have done their job of doing so, but have instead expressed tingling delight over Obama. FOX attempts to do so, but to the point it comes across as hatred.

  • Mark2

    @Twilight
    Listen, Fox News, Rush, Dobbs, and even O’Reilly tried this fear-mongering of Obama and pleaded with the public to elect McCain but they failed! They get ratings from kool-aid drinkers such as yourself and from people who love to hate them but in the end the public doesn’t listen to their wishes. Hannity and Rush tried so hard to make sure Obama wasn’t elected in 2008 and they failed miserably. The same thing is going to happen this time.

    “Oh well, as the guy who tamed lightening said a few hundred years ago ‘A society which gives up Liberty for a little Security will lose both and deserve neither.’ Our founders warned of what would become of this nation, and it has happened.”

    ^correction: it hasn’t happened, but we are on the fast track.

  • Chriscee

    I wonder what Sasha and Malia will think of their father….when they actually understand the words he has said about unborn children. I wonder if they’ll feel like moving targets.

  • TwilightZone

    @Mark2
    Because I agree with the political positions of O’Reilly, Hannity, and Rush, does not mean I drink their kool-aid. I could say the same for you in your support of the other non-FOX media outlets, but I won’t. I will however argue against your support for these other networks and your support for their agenda (and Obama’s) to progress this country into a share-the-wealth system.

    In regards to O’Reilly, Hannity, and Rush, I can’t bare to watch Hannity or listen to Rush for too long even though I agree with them as they are too abrasive. O’Reilly I like alot and can watch all day long, 39 hours a day (joke). I am fairly well educated (doesn’t mean too much really), and consider myself to be an independent thinker. Most of my opinions I develop for myself long before I hear the aforementioned commentators make their claim. I just tend to agree with them when they do. This is not ‘drinking kool-aid’ as many so simply state, as to ‘drink kool-aid’ is to not develop one’s own opinion until after hearing someone else they like state it for them.

    Three Weeks Later And FBI Still Hasn’t Been Granted Access To Benghazi Consulate

    Update: Sensitive Documents Left Behind, Site Still Unsecured…

    Wash. Po.

    Documents detailing weapons collection efforts, emergency evacuation protocols, the full internal itinerary of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens’s trip and the personnel records of Libyans who were contracted to secure the mission were among the items scattered across the floors of the looted compound when a Washington Post reporter and a translator visited Wednesday.

    Other the documents detail — with names, photographs, phone numbers and other personal information — the Libyans contracted to provide security for the mission from a British-based private firm, Blue Mountain. Some of those Libyans say they now fear for their lives, and the State Department has said it shares concerns about their safety.

    Another reporter examines embassy contents. Why no FBI ?

    Chicago Pot Farm’s Plants as Big as Trees

    ABC News

    Police in a helicopter stumbled upon what may be the largest outdoor pot farm in the city’s history. Planted in rows and spread over an area the size of two football fields, as many as 1,500 plants averaging 6 feet tall were growing amidst heavy brush in an industrial area on the city’s South Side

    “I wonder what Sasha and Malia will think of their father….when they actually understand the words he has said about unborn children. I wonder if they’ll feel like moving targets”

    Now, Now. His daughters are nearly developed women now, almost ready to vote as Democrats. Mr. Obama would never harm them. But, if they were still young enough to be symbiotically attached to Mrs. Obama, then Mrs. Obama should have the right to choose as they are not really human beings until they are born and the cord is cut. Until then, they are only extensions of her own body, kind of like a pinky finger, or a toe-nail.

    I hope by the sarcasm you recognize I am not serious.

    LOL. Funny.

    Wow! Sean Insannity almost beat Bill-O. Sean’s gonna owe the Drudge ppl a gift basket. Seems they needed some gimmick to beat Rachel Maddow.

    Should be a lot to talk about after tonight. Wish I was doing comfort food like tacos or pizza but I did that already this week. So it’s a ribeye, or shoe leather by the time I’m done with it. :(

  • Anthony Parello (AP076)

    I watched Hannity last night my impressions:

    -Too much time was spent talking about the cadence of Obama’s speech rather than the content of his words.

    -Sean played a portion where Obama praises JC and his role in his life back in 2007. I somehow doubt this will affect the somewhat significant portion of his viewers (compared to other cable TV shows) who believe the President is a secret Muslim.

    -I think Hannity misrepresented the timeline about Rev. Wright. Although HE did in fact have him on the show it was still a longish time before Wright became an issue. The decision to not have him give the prayer during his campaign announcement seem to be independent of Obama’s decision to break from his completely. It was a personal choice about the direction about who would be his spiritual advisor that was extensively covered in 2008 and which was soundly rejected by most in terms of their selection of him as President.

    -The video was very much about ratings but there is nothing wrong with that. This video really speaks to those who will already be voting for Romney.

    -And by Carlson and Hannity continuing to parrot the line that “the MSM held this back on purpose” they ended up having the coverage of the tape center on disproving that the tape was not available to media outlets or that they did not cover it rather again the content of it. Or reporting that Carlson in fact covered it himself in 2007 as did Fox news.

    -In that sense it may be more of a story about how ALL the media covered the story and in no way about any controversy about Candidate Obama’s remarks. This will have little to no effect on the electorate.

    -Also any comparisons between this and the 47% videotape is an apples and oranges scenario. The 47% tape was NEVER reported on in the media AT ALL. The tape was also part of this current election cycle. The networks would be remiss if they had not given it coverage. The debate whether that coverage was excessive is an entirely separate issue. It did have an effect on the electorate but frankly not a lasting one.

  • Ralph Hahn

    @Keynes: No matter how many times you keep chanting, “this story has been reported on by the (liberal) media, THIS IS THE BIG DIFFERENCE. The other news outlets ONLY reported on Obama’s “prepared” speech on teleprompter. The offensive remarks made by Obama were ad-libbed, if you can believe it. Lazy reporters only wrote from the prepared transcript of the speech. They were dozing when Obama made those remarks that have now been made public.

    For you yahoos who say the only reason “Hannity” showed this tape was for ratings, then MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” did it for the same reason, as I had complimented MSNBC for doing so, fairly, later in Monday’s cable news ratings report. A-holes who cry that “Hannity” needed a gimmick to regain his normal superior ratings over Maddow have short memories. Double a-holes go to people STILL comparing different programs airing in different time slots.

  • Suikostinger

    So Hannity replays a 5 year old video that he and others have already played years ago….to get ratings and to try to make Obama lose the presidency…days before the debate. Fox News is a GREAT source of news….

  • Dave

    What a bunch of bull on this board.Ask FOX to play the whole speech ,not just bits and pieces.We heard all of Romney’s hate tape.
    FOX is a scum network and is full of hate.They are indeed racist and Hannity is the number one racist .News Corp has been kicked out of England and their top people have been indicted.FOX just loves it when Americans are killed and they can trump up a way to blame President Obama.
