   Sons of Anarchy is already renewed for Season 6.
   It happened in February when Kurt Sutter had signed overall three-year deal with FX and 20th Century Fox.

   So you figure it’s pretty routine when a cable drama easily beats 3 broadcast dramas in the ratings that matter?

   Here’s a hint, it’s not.

   BTW, viewership is irrelevant.

   Thats right, cause Sons of Anarchy is THE best show on tv! Not even primetime channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and CW can compete with it. If they want their shows to survive, they can’t put them in the same time slot as SOA. I think that’s why some good shows fail cause idiots up in corporate put these shows up against extremely popular shows. Or they decide to cut a popular program to premier a show. Guess what? That show was a waste of money to even create cause when they cut a popular program, like the closing of the olympics to premier a show, people will get pissed and your show goes in the trash. Now had the show premiered at a different time, it may have survived and been a good show.

   I know what you were meaning but the sentence should read “Sons of Anarchy was the top rated cable program and highest rated 10pm show (Broadcast or Cable).” How it reads now is that it beat ALL broadcast shows on Tuesday (which it didn’t; NCIS, NCIS:LA, The Voice and New Girl beat it). But still very impressive.

   Get a little perspective.

   There were an average of 45 million adults 18-49 watching television last night from 10-11pm.

   About 3 million of them were watching SOA.

   A fine result for SOA, but the idea that it took away all the TV viewers in the hour is just nonsense.

   If your show fails at 10pm it’s not because SOA took all the viewers, its because they didn’t want to watch it.
